Atan","doi":"10.19171/uefad.1091314","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.19171/uefad.1091314","url":null,"abstract":"Le texte littéraire avait été longtemps utilisé avant et au début du XXème siècle comme instrument didactique dans le développement des compétences de l’apprenant en formation de langue étrangère et délaissé pourtant jusqu’aux méthodologies communicatives. L’objectif de cette recherche est d’examiner et de révéler son remaniement comme support authentique, dans le manuel de français ‘Archipel’, paru au début des années 80, fondé sur l’approche communicative. Pour ce faire, les trois livres du manuel ont été analysés d’une manière comparative afin de mettre en évidence et en discussion la fréquence d'utilisation des textes, la diversité des genres littéraires et les caractéristiques géographiques et temporelles des auteurs sélectionnés par les concepteurs de l'ouvrage. Notre recherche se veut une étude descriptive qui sera réalisée par la méthode d'analyse de documents. Les données ont été obtenues par l'analyse de contenu. Therefore, researchers have conducted many studies to determine the factors that increase students' motivation. Most of these studies have focused on various teaching methods and techniques' effects on students' motivation. However, in contrast to the abundance of studies conducted for this purpose, there are very few studies on the knowledge and practices of teachers and preservice teachers on motivation and motivating students. Therefore, this study aims to examine the knowledge and practices of preservice science teachers in motivating students to learn science by using a case study. The participants consist of eight preservice science teachers attending the fourth grade at a state university in Turkey. Interviews, lesson plans, and presentations were used to obtain data on the quality of participants' knowledge and practices about motivating students. The interview data were analyzed by content analysis and coded into categories. The qualities of the teaching practices included in the lesson plans and presentations regarding motivating the students were analyzed using Keller's ARCS model. The findings showed that preservice science teachers' knowledge was far from reflecting the motivation's multidimensional nature. Additionally, findings revealed that preservice science teachers mostly defined motivation as attracting interest and attention, and in line with these views, the practices they planned to use to motivate students were mostly classified under the category of generating and sustaining the attention of the ARCS model. Yüksel","doi":"10.19171/uefad.1107999","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.19171/uefad.1107999","url":null,"abstract":"This study aims to examine prospective teachers' ideological beliefs affecting their preparation for diversity in initial teacher education (ITE). The study was designed as qualitative phenomenology around two phenomena experienced by prospective teachers in ITE. The participants determined based on the criterion and maximum variety sampling are six senior students of an ITE program. The researchers collected via individual interviews with a semi-structured interview form. In the study, the interview questions referred to political, gender, and religious ideology categories to make participants state their views more comprehensively and concretely. The data analyzed is based on conventional content analysis in which an inductive approach takes place. The codes were created from data and hierarchized in a constant comparison process. Results showed that prospective teachers have ideological beliefs. Family, school, and social circle seem to be essential factors in building these beliefs. Although the participants indicate university as a critical factor, they emphasize that ITE does not affect their ideological beliefs. In terms of preparation for diversity, the participant has promising intentions like respecting the different; teachers need to prepare for diversity, and ITE should contribute to this preparation. However, apparent and latent barriers seem to affect their preparation negatively: prospective teachers' conditional respect attitude, being neutral concerns and some latent ideological beliefs on differences, and ITE's current no effect on preparation for diversity. The study is descriptive research and was carried out in the scanning model. In this context, Turkish course skill-based questions published by the General Directorate of Measurement, Evaluation and Examination Services of the Ministry of National Education for 5th, 6th, and 7th-grade students were handled, no sampling was used, and all questions were included. Research data were collected through document review. As a result of the study, it was found that the skill-based questions published by the Ministry of National Education for 5th, 6th, and 7th-grade students were at the understanding level at a rate of 71.2%. There were no questions at the creating level in any class. In the research, an open-ended questionnaire was applied to 28 primary school mathematics teachers working in the Ministry of National Education. Findings were obtained by subjecting the data to content analysis. As a result, it was concluded that ZOOM is the most used platform by primary school mathematics teachers, and Z-Book is the most preferred instructional technology in this process. In addition, it has been determined that teachers use instructional technologies to ensure effective learning the most. The expectations of teachers from distance education platforms and teaching technologies can be summarized as being easy to use, adaptable to every subject, offering various materials, attracting attention, being free, having a language option, and having high image and sound quality, apart from accessibility and active students. Applications will be made about people who will be considered not to prefer platforms technologies that will benefit from great information about researches.
