They incorporate tools such as discussion forums, wikis and other collaborative tools that make them especially useful for building richly collaborative environments. This study aims to investigate the Sudanese students' use and perceptions toward the collaborative learning tools, in particular forum and wiki, in Moodle Learning Management system. The participants for this study were 92 undergraduate students from University of Khartoum in Sudan, where face to face collaboration is a common indigenous way of learning. The students took part in a Software Engineering blended learning course during the first semester of 2010-2011 academic year. A questionnaire was developed to assess the students' views on their collaboration from their perspective. The findings from the study revealed that students appreciated the opportunity to use Moodle collaborative tools and they generally responded very positively to the overall collaborative learning experience. Implications of examining students' views and perception of online collaboration are also discussed.","PeriodicalId":185614,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on E-Learning and E-Technologies in Education (ICEEE)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121949497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This knowledge system pays great attention to the students' programming thinking and programming ability, and makes the students not only gain the language knowledge and get the programming ability. So, it makes the program design teaching raise from the language teaching to the skill training. With its \"fast and slow binding, seizing the big and freeing the small\" teaching strategy, the teachers overcome the bottleneck of the traditional program design teaching and their teaching thinking become more clearly; the students master the skill of program design, and they can translate the language knowledge into the programming ability, so the double clue knowledge system and its teaching strategy are worth to popularize.","PeriodicalId":185614,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on E-Learning and E-Technologies in Education (ICEEE)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129100299","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A G2G framework describes internal or external Government to Government data communications. Nowadays, developing a G2G framework for customs information systems is the subject of many big researches as customs administrations meet the problems comes from international regulations, security, legal specifications, technology and trade. The G2G framework of customs must be as a flexible, scalable, available, comprehensive, open and integrated tools which able to address the needs of expected business and predictable future. To design and develop a more efficient G2G customs information system that will facilitate trade, we propose a model. This model is based on the new paradigm in software engineering as N-Tier architecture. We have evaluated our proposed framework with four datasets. Internal users of customs in this proposed G2G framework, external users of customs, internal and external domain expertise are our datasets. The framework allows maximal scalability and makes more future adaptations with a comprehensive G2G system for customs administration.","PeriodicalId":185614,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on E-Learning and E-Technologies in Education (ICEEE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131085744","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The student uses the wizard to go through a series of pages which present information, link to web resources, ask questions, and mark answers. The questions can be of short-answer type, multiple choice or programming. In the short-answer questions, hints can be automatically generated in the form of scrambled spelling or first letters and lengths of the words in the answer. In programming questions, hints may be in the form of skeletons of programs with blank “to do” regions which are to be filled in. Programs submitted by the student are compiled, run and checked against expected output. The wizard can present a randomly selected and shuffled subset of the questions taken from a question repository. The repository contains flags determining the hints and format of each question. A record of the session, containing the questions and possibly multiple attempts at solutions from the student, is saved in an encrypted format. The answer key within the wizard is also encrypted so that answers cannot be obtained by reverse engineering.","PeriodicalId":185614,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on E-Learning and E-Technologies in Education (ICEEE)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123078921","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to combat problems with dishonest market participants, a reputation system based on the trustworthiness of sellers has been widely established by the service provider. Traditionally this trust model is mainly based on feedback mechanism while neglecting the other important factors, such as, refund rate, which may lead to transaction risks in the new transaction. This paper proposes a global reputation rating method by using joint beta probability density functions to combine positive feedback rating and refund rate. The new trust model has the advantage of tractability and scalability as well as its theoretical sound basis on statistics.","PeriodicalId":185614,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on E-Learning and E-Technologies in Education (ICEEE)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133455916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
