The main directions of interregional migration are analysed based on official statistics. The regions with the closest migration ties are identified; the age structure of migration flows to these regions is characterised. The migration intensity of individual age groups is revealed. The interregional migration exchange of Bashkortostan is characterised by age differentiation. The age structure of migration flows from Bashkortostan to individual entities of the Russian Federation differs, indicating the migration attractiveness of certain regions for different categories of the population. The interregional exchange of the republic leads to significant migration losses among young age groups, which weakens the reproductive and marriage potential of the region. Therefore, it is necessary to create such measures of regional social and migration policy that would contribute to the preservation and development of the socio-demographic potential of the Republic of Bashkortostan.","PeriodicalId":185188,"journal":{"name":"Global challenges to demographic development. It was revealed that an increase in quantitative indicators of mortality in this period is associated with a change in the age structure of the population towards ageing, while the growth in the number of deaths in the region exceeded the all-Russian dynamics. The reduction of infant and child mortality in the region was accompanied by an intensive increase in the number of deaths of young and middle-aged people, an increase in male excess mortality and a decrease in average life expectancy.","PeriodicalId":185188,"journal":{"name":"Global challenges to demographic development. The literacy index is understood as the educational level of the population: the ratio of the number of people with a certain education to the total number of people of a certain age, in ppm. A significant increase in the literacy index of the population of the Middle Urals is noted. The share of people with incomplete secondary and secondary general education increased more intensively than in the RSFSR. However, the proportion of people with secondary professional and higher and incomplete higher education either decreased or remained unchanged compared to the national indicators, indicating a less intensive growth of these educational levels. Great successes in the development of secondary general and incomplete secondary education in the region and the presence of problems in the development of secondary professioanl and higher education are stated.","PeriodicalId":185188,"journal":{"name":"Global challenges to demographic development. It is hypothesised that the development of integration processes contributes to the growth of the welfare of the population. This hypothesis is tested on the socio-economic indicators identified for the three common goals of the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union. It was revealed that, in recent years, these integration associations partially reached a new level of integration, did not achieve comprehensive cooperation, and improved the welfare of the population.","PeriodicalId":185188,"journal":{"name":"Global challenges to demographic development. Based on new scientific data, a comparative analysis of the literacy of the population by sex, place of residence (urban settlements and rural areas) and age cohorts was conducted in a comparable territory over a longer period of time. This study is especially relevant for Udmurtia, whose administrative-territorial boundaries in the 1920s–1930s often changed. In particular, the comparison revealed that during 1926–1933, a rural territory became a part of Udmurtia, in which in 1926 a more literate population lived than in the region itself.","PeriodicalId":185188,"journal":{"name":"Global challenges to demographic development.
