There has been a high interest in utilizing natural antibacterial composites, such as medicinal plants extracts. Punica granatum, a popular medicinal plant, has\u0000 various pharmacological applications. In this particular research, iron NPs were formulated by the Punica granatum aqueous extract, following the principles of green chemistry. The study objective was to assess the effectiveness of FeNPs on denture stomatitis. The usual analytical examinations\u0000 were applied for FeNPs. The FE-SEM results confirmed that the nanoparticles exhibited a spherical morphology, with sizes ranging from 21.6 to 65.8 nm. This clinical trial involved 30 patients who received FeNPs. Over a period of two weeks, the patients were instructed to consume the mouthwash\u0000 four times per day, with 15–20 drops each time, for a duration of 2–3 minutes. Following the mouthwash, they were advised to refrain from eating or drinking for 0.5 hour. The patients in both classes were instructed to consume the medication at particular times. The erythema and\u0000 inflammation levels were recorded and assessed at each session using a 6-point scale and a graded blade. Additionally, palatal mucosa mycological samples were collected for culture during each visit. The data revealed a notable reduction in the palatal erythema surface compared to the initial\u0000 condition in the follow-up visits. This study suggests that FeNPs can effectively reduce the Candida colonies number and the area affected by erythema in the denture stomatitis management.

Results show that the tension strength anisotropy weakens with deformation\u0000 degree. Compared to the traditional method, the machine learning model exhibits more flexible in solving the anisotropic plastic responses of AA7075-T6 auminium alloy sheet and provides more accurate predictions. Through analyzing the fracture surface of tension specimen at various orientations,\u0000 the failure mechanism is sensitive to orientation. Specifically, the irregular distribution of dimples zones and cleavage steps can be observed at lower material orientation. To conduct this study, we divided patients with VAP in severe TBI into a control (CTRL) group and a BAL group. The control group received BAL with saline, while the BAL group received BAL with NAC in addition to standard care. We compared the clinical treatment,\u0000 degree of inflammation, blood oxygen index, and safety of both groups pre- and post-BAL. The results showed that BAL with NAC was more effective in reducing the duration of antibiotic use, imaging uptake, fever reduction, mechanical ventilation, and ICU stay, as well as CPIS and APACHE II\u0000 scores. Moreover, the BAL group demonstrated greater improvement in ventilation, as indicated by increased values of PaO2, SaO2, and OI, and a more substantial decrease in PaCO2. Furthermore, BAL treatment effectively suppressed the level of inflammatory response\u0000 in the body and more significantly reduced TNF-α, CPR, PCT and MIP-1α levels. Adjuvant treatment with BAL effectively improved clinical outcomes and reduced mortality in severe TBI patients with VAP, while maintaining a high level of safety during the BAL operation.\u0000 Therefore, BAL using NAC holds significant potential in the salvage of patients with severe TBI combined with VAP.

Research commonly focuses on the effects of piezoelectric material and cutting direction\u0000 on these parameters. This paper investigates the effect of the conductivity of the Si substrate on k2 and IR through finite element method (FEM) simulations. A new model based on the modified Butterworth-van-Dyke (MBVD) model is presented. This new model takes into account\u0000 the substrate parasitic capacitance and resistance to predict resonator performance on low resistivity (LR) Si piezoelectric on insulator (POI) substrates. Both high resistivity (HR) Si and LR-Si are utilized to fabricate POI SAW resonators, which are subsequently tested. The high conductivity\u0000 of the Si support layer leads to a decrease in both k2 and IR. By employing Si substrates with different resistances during fabrication, it becomes possible to manufacture resonators with varying k2 values, thus meeting diverse bandwidth requirements for\u0000 filters.

The mechanical properties of Ni-Ti alloy and Ti64Al4V (compressive\u0000 strength and elastic modulus) were examined in the physicochemical property tests, while, mouse osteoblasts were cultured to test their biocompatibility. Subsequently, clinical data of patients with clavicle fractures treated at our hospital from January 2012 to January 2022 were retrospectively\u0000 analyzed. The patients were divided into microplate and SMA groups based on the surgical methods, and the follow-up period was 1 year post-surgery. Clinical treatment, mobility and functional recovery (DASH score and Constant score) of the affected upper limb, numbness, and adverse effects\u0000 were compared between the two groups. SMA exhibited a compressive strength similar to that of Ti6Al4V, but its modulus of elasticity was significantly lower. Meanwhile, the results of the cellular experiments suggested that the addition of SMA and Ti6Al4V would not markedly decrease the osteoblast\u0000 activity, suggesting that both internal fixation implants had good biocompatibility. In addition, SMA ring hugger was effective in reducing operative time, intraoperative bleeding, wound size, fracture end healing time, and residual fracture shortening. In terms of postoperative assessment\u0000 of affected limb mobility, SMA ring hugger better improved the mobility of the affected shoulder in supination, abduction, adduction, and forward flexion, and was more effective in decreasing the DASH score and increasing the Constant score. Meanwhile, SMA ring hugger effectively reduced numbness\u0000 in the affected area and decreased the incidence of delayed wound healing, exercise restrictions, proliferative scars, and vegetative stimulus. Therefore, SMA ring hugger demonstrates favorable mechanical performance and biocompatibility, meanwhile, it can better promote postoperative functional\u0000 recovery of the affected limb in clavicle fracture patients with guaranteed safety.

The biocompatibility of CDs was evaluated by cytotoxicity and hemolysis in vitro. The results proved that CDs possessed the average particle\u0000 size of 1.75 nm and the negative surface potential of −2.71 mV. For E. coli and S. aureus, the minimum bactericidal concentrations of CDs were 500 μg/mL and 400 μg/mL, respectively. These co-doped CDs also possessed the ability to inhibit biofilm formation.\u0000 The antibacterial mechanism was mainly through the adsorption force to rupture the bacterial membrane and induce the generation of reactive oxygen species in bacterial cells. Introduction: Salvia fruticosa Mill (SF) is considered a significant medicinal\u0000 plant that is found all over the world. Method: The essential lipid contents (fatty acids and unsaponifiable matter), the volatile oil from leaves, and the antibacterial activity of various extracts were all evaluated. The lipid components were extracted with n-hexane then fractionated.\u0000 Four flavonoids, namely luteolin, cosmos, cynaroside, andorientin, were isolated from the alcoholic extract of the plant by chromatographic and spectroscopic methods. The extracts were tested for their antimicrobial activity against various microorganisms by measuring the inhibition zone diameter\u0000 using disc diffusion method. A molecular docking study was performed to assess the binding affinity of the flavonoids to the DNA gyrase enzyme, which is a crucial target for antibacterial drugs. Caryophyllene (18.70%), lab-13-ene,8,15-diol (15.93%), methyl linoleate (10.53%), and 1,8-cineole\u0000 (8.24%) are the most prevalent components in the volatile oil, according to the GC/MS analysis. The lipid components were fractionated into three groups: the unsaponifiable fraction, the fatty acid OMe (FAME), and the insoluble fraction of the acetone (fatty alcohols and hydrocarbons). The\u0000 obtained results show remarkable antifungal activity with chloroform extract against A. flavus and moderate activity against A. niger. Besides, the butanol and ethyl acetate extracts presented high activity against Sarcina sp. with inhibition zone of 22 mm. The microorganism\u0000 B. cerus was affected moderately by ethyl acetate and chloroform extracts with inhibition zone of 14 and 12 mm, respectively. The methanol extract was active against C. albicans only. The fatty acids fraction inhibited the growth of A. flavus with inhibition zones of 8,\u0000 10 and 14 mm for different concentrations, respectively. The Docking results revealed that all compounds exhibited a promising interaction into the DNA-gyrase, which agrees with an experimental data got from the antibacterial activity assay.
