This condition has resulted in a surge in baby births due to the increasing drop out rate in the use of contraceptives, limited public access to health facilities, the assumption that couples of childbearing age delay visiting health facilities to get family planning services due to fear of infection. Regarding the existing problems, it is very necessary to have an educational approach regarding contraception and cadres who are the closest people to the community. This study used a quasi-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. The sample of this study used cluster sampling, there were 125 respondents. Analysis of the data using a different test t test. Calculation of data using SPSS. The results showed that the characteristics of cadres were in the age group, the majority of cadres were in the age group of 35-50 years (64.3%). Based on the length of time being a cadre, most are in the range of 1-3 years and more than 3 years have the same percentage (49.2%). There is a significant effect between the training of cadres on contraceptive methods in increasing the knowledge of health cadres.","PeriodicalId":18105,"journal":{"name":"Malaysian Journal of Medical and Biological Research","volume":"43 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75732051","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Verbal bullying can affect students’ confidence. Therefore, the aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between verbal bullying, body shaming behavior, and student self-confidence. Methods: The study used a cross-sectional design, 267 students in one of the senior high schools in Sidoarjo, Indonesia were selected by cluster sampling. Bullying behavior was measured by the Adolescent Peer Relations Instrument (APRI) and the Objectivity Body Consciousness Scale (OBC). Those two variables were tested by the Spearmen Rho analysis test. Results: The results showed that most of the verbal bullying and body shaming behavior was in the moderate category (93.3%) while most of the high school students had low self-confidence (65.2%). The Spearmen Rho test indicated that the value of r= -0,230, ρ=0,001 (ρ<α=0,05), means that there is a low correlation between verbal bullying body shaming behavior, and self-confidence. Conclusions: The implication of this study shows that the higher verbal bullying and body shaming the lower the high school students’ self-confidence. There are many factors that can influence students to increase their self-confidence also to prevent verbal bullying and body shaming action, one of them is individual counseling which students take counseling together both with the teacher and the parents.","PeriodicalId":18105,"journal":{"name":"Malaysian Journal of Medical and Biological Research","volume":"2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78606256","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most enormous thing to achieve is to live independently with less help from others to achieve an optimum quality of life. Methods: This is a community-based cross-sectional survey conducted among 414 community-dwelling older adults in Pontian District aiming to identify the functional status and examine the relationship between functional status and three types of loneliness. The Pfeffer Functional Activities Questionnaire was used to measure the level of functional status. Loneliness was measured with the short form of the Social and Emotional Loneliness Scale for Adults. The Statistical Package for Social Science Ver.26 for Windows was used to analyse all of the data.The results of this study show that the mean (+SD) age is 71.4 (+2.0). The majority of respondents perceived good health status and no deterioration in functional status. 8.2% of respondents experienced deterioration in functional status. Of these, 32.6% of respondents experienced social loneliness, 39.9% experienced emotional loneliness, and 9.2% experienced family loneliness. The results also revealed a significant relationship between functional status and social loneliness (p = 0.02). In conclusion, the majority of respondents are independent enough to perform functional activities, and less than half of them have experienced social, emotional, or family loneliness. Social loneliness was linked to a decline in functional ability in older adults. This research could aid in the care of older adults who live independently and freely in the community.","PeriodicalId":18105,"journal":{"name":"Malaysian Journal of Medical and Biological Research","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90257961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Warfarin use in patients presented with ruptured AAA can further complicate the preparation for surgical intervention and affect prognosis. We reported a case of impending rupture AAA that progressed to contained leak AAA in a warfarin user, with persistent elevated and rebound international normalized ratio (INR) despite aggressive correction with fresh frozen plasma (FFP) and three-factor prothrombin complex concentrate (3F-PCC). Persistent and rebound coagulopathy is possible in AAA. Corrective treatment with FFP or 3F-PCC alone does not always guarantee the successful reversal of coagulopathy in AAA. Some cases, especially those that failed the initial corrective treatment, require more aggressive reversal with co-administration of vitamin K. This case described coagulopathy in AAA, anticoagulation reversal agents used and emphasized the importance of rigorous coagulation profile monitoring in managing AAA.","PeriodicalId":18105,"journal":{"name":"Malaysian Journal of Medical and Biological Research","volume":"72 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90834232","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The increase in stroke mortality is because many patients come late beyond the golden period. This problem occurs due to a lack of family knowledge about the emergency of stroke, signs, and symptoms of a stroke, and lack of knowledge of what to do immediately when a stroke occurs, resulting in delays in bringing to health services and resulting in delays in stroke treatment. The purpose of this study is to find out how the golden period is related in terms of family knowledge of early detection of stroke for stroke patients. This study is a correlational study with a population of all families of stroke patients in the IGD Brawijaya Malang who meet the criteria for being respondents are 55 respondents with accidental sampling techniques. There are two variables in this study, knowledge as the independent variable, and the golden period as the dependent variable. The data were analyzed using Chi-square analysis. The result of this research is that most of the respondents are highly knowledgeable (47.3%) and most of the respondents with the fast golden period are 32 respondents (58.2%) at Brawijaya Lawang Hospital. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge and the golden period in IGD Rumkitbang Brawijaya Malang. Good knowledge will affect the speed of the family asking for help in stroke management. Families as one of the main components who often find a stroke so when they know the symptoms of a stroke, the danger is that when stroke management is late it will make them quick in making decisions to immediately take them to health services.","PeriodicalId":18105,"journal":{"name":"Malaysian Journal of Medical and Biological Research","volume":"5 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91140514","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
