Among these cases are medical and surgical cases. The surgical cases can be divided into trauma and non-trauma-based cases. Trauma cases, therefore, are a sub-specialized field and services provided within the emergency department deal with patients presenting with acute bodily harm. A proper system of traumatology must be in place to recognise patients presenting with major trauma, relay accurate and timely information provide a pre hospital care alert to the emergency staff, conduct a proper Passover of cases to handle information precisely, activate the trauma team and trauma physicians in two tiers so that emergency trauma care does its job before intervention by primary teams of different disciplines unique to the case, investigate the patient with trauma panels and quick trauma protocols, and final disposition of the patient to the operation theatre, wards or discharge after observation and adequate pain control.","PeriodicalId":18105,"journal":{"name":"Malaysian Journal of Medical and Biological Research","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85673908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Study Design and Settings: It was a hospital based cross sectional study conducted in eye department of Teaching hospital, University of Lahore Pakistan. Total duration of the study was 4 months from January 2022-April 2022. Methods: A total of 32 patients were included in the study. Purposive sampling technique was adopted for sampling. Patients age 15-45 were included in the study. A detailed eye examination was done in patients presented to eye department with pain and evaluated for optic neuritis, and demographics along with clinical signs and symptoms were documented using a proforma. Results: Total 32 patients were included in the study having Optic Neuritis. Mean age of the patients was 29 ±8.3SD (Range 15-45). The optic neuritis was divided into further sub-divisions, i.e. Pappilits 11 patients, Retrobulbar Neuritis 14 patients and neuroretinitis 7 patients. A paired t test comparing contrast sensitivity before and after treatment showed a significance of .03 improvement after treatment. In spite of the fact that the results demonstrated that contrast sensitivity did not return to normal, they did show that with prompt treatment, a substantial improvement in contrast sensitivity was possible. Same significance of .02 was found for improvement in VA post-operatively when a paired t test was applied. Conclusion: Vision and contrast sensitivity both are affected in ON, however VA can be improved to normal vision after treatment, but contrast seldom improve to its normal value.","PeriodicalId":18105,"journal":{"name":"Malaysian Journal of Medical and Biological Research","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89659702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Violence against women is a violation of rights and has terrible impacts on health and reproduction. This research aims to understand the reproductive health impacts of women who have experienced violence. This study uses qualitative research methods and narrative stories from survivors of partner violence. Informants were obtained in a manner directly by researchers and also through the Women Crisis Center. A study was held for three months in the district of Jombang, East Java. Violence against women impacts reproductive health problems such as unwanted pregnancy, an effort to abort, treatment violence during pregnancy, no existing support, and rape committed by a partner. We need comprehensive care in assessing women's reproductive health, including vigilance against existing treatment violence experienced by women from partners.","PeriodicalId":18105,"journal":{"name":"Malaysian Journal of Medical and Biological Research","volume":"76 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73417367","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Self-ego and body perception deteriorate due to scoliosis. Our aim in the study was to evaluate the effect of halo gravity traction application on trunk visual perception as well as provide solutions to the basic problems that may occur in kyphoscoliosis. Methods: Eleven patients diagnosed with advanced and rigid kyphoscoliosis with a mean age of 20.5 years who underwent halo gravity traction between 2019 and 2020 were included in our study. The trunk visual perception scale was used to evaluate the perception of patients about trunk deformities before and after traction. Cobb angle values were examined. Results: The mean coronal Cobb angle before traction was 95.9 ° ± 8.3 °, after the traction, it was 88.4 ° ± 6.6 °, the mean pre-traction sagittal cobb angle was 85.2 ° ± 8.2 °, and after the traction, it was 79.2 ° ± 7.6 °. Statistically, these changes were significant (p <0.05). In the anterior body perception evaluation, the mean score before the procedure was 1.294 ± 0.469 and after the procedure, it was 1.764 ± 0.5622. The posterior body perception was 1.117 ± 0.3321 and after the procedure, it was 2.176 ± 0.6359. The changes in body perception assessment from the front and the back were statistically significant (p <0.05). Conclusion: Halo gravity traction can have a positive effect on the perception they have about trunk deformities, together with providing solutions to the basic problems of patients with rigid and advanced kyphoscoliosis. In addition, it has a positive effect on radiological deformity.","PeriodicalId":18105,"journal":{"name":"Malaysian Journal of Medical and Biological Research","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89892631","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
