Therefore, the study included the use of a simple angular regression model with an error that follows a circular distribution, which is the Von Mises distribution, and estimating the parameters in the greatest possible way, and testing the quality of reconciliation of the model in general by proposing a test that depends mainly on the Fisher distribution . This was applied to two circular variables, the wind direction in the city of Nasiriyah as a dependent variable and the direction of high atmospheric pressure as an independent variable. The results showed that the model represented the data correctly by passing the estimated model to test the quality of reconciliation, and that the relationship between the direction of high atmospheric pressure and the direction of the wind in the city of Nasiriyah is a direct relationship, i. The other aspect is the time required for the manifestation of these procedures in the macroeconomic variables including the function of aggregate investment. The research dealt with measuring the effect of the time lags of monetary policy channels on aggregate investment in Iraq for the period (2005-2020) for quarterly data using the auto-regressive distributed lag. {"title":"Forecasting the spot exchange rate of the Euro-dollar in the forex market using the comparison between the Holt method and artificial neural networks","authors":"Entisar Ibrahim","doi":"10.29124/kjeas.1547.17","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.29124/kjeas.1547.17","url":null,"abstract":"In this paper , the time series data of the daily exchange rate of the euro against the dollar were used for the period from (12/7/2020 H:1 AM-10/12/2020 H:7 AM) with a total of (79) Observations as (120) Observations for comparison with the forecast values obtained using the two methods, to make the comparison process for future forecasts for the period from (10/12/2020 H:8 AM- 15/12/2020 H:7 AM) with a total of (120) Observations. To predict them, between the double exponential smoothing model (Holt method) and the feed-forward artificial neural network model using the two algorithms (Incremental Back Propagation algorithm, Quick Propagation algorithm).These methods are characterized by high accuracy and flexibility of these methods in the process of analyzing the time series, the results of the application showed that the most efficient and optimal model for representing the time series data is the artificial neural network model [2-10-1] using the Quick Propagation algorithm for the daily exchange rate of the euro against the dollar according to the criterion The mean square error ( MSE), has given lower indicators than the indicators of the artificial neural network model [2-10-1] using the Incremental Back Propagation algorithm, and the double exponential smoothing model (Holt method) when using (α =0.9 and = 0.1), which clearly indicates that it is the appropriate and efficient model for estimating future forecasts for the period from (10/12/2020 H:8 AM- 15/12/2020 H:7 AM). Where these values showed consistency with their counterparts in the original series, and provided us with a future picture of the reality of the daily exchange rate of the euro against the dollar for that period. Therefore, the artificial neural network model provided better future predictions than those provided by the double exponential smoothing model (Holt method), according to the standard of mean square error ( MSE), it gave less indicators than the indicators of the Holt model. A hypothetical scheme was built according to the variables of the current study, and on its basis the main hypothesis and sub-hypothesis were developed. This study was applied and tested in the maritime sector at the Naval Academy. The questionnaire was used in the process of collecting data from a community sample of (180) employees from the individuals working in the academy, and they were chosen using the intentional sampling method, as the data retrieved by the questionnaire were analyzed using the (SPSSV.26) and (AMOSV22) programs, and the number of retrieved questionnaires was ( 155) questionnaire, all valid for analysis. The problem of the study revolves around the nature of the relationship and impact of human resources governance for the function of training employees working in the Arabian Gulf Academy for Maritime Studies. The results of the study indicated that there is a positive impact of governance dimensions (disclosure, transparency and social responsibility) on training human resources.
