A lab-scale gantry crane is considered in the experimental work. An unfiltered bang-bang input voltage is used to determine the characteristic parameters of the system for design and evaluation of the low pass filtering techniques. The Butterworth IIR low-pass filter with 3rd, 6th, and 9th orders respectively were designed based on the properties of the system. Implementation results of the response of the gantry crane with the filtering techniques are presented in time and frequency domains. The performances of the filters are examined in terms of level of swing angle reduction, and time response specifications. Finally a comparative assessment of the filter techniques with different orders is discussed and presented.","PeriodicalId":178300,"journal":{"name":"2010 2nd International Conference on Electronic Computer Technology","volume":"485 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132195335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The salivary alpha amylase enzyme will immobilize on to the Piezeoresistive Microcantilever biosensor to detect activity during the enzyme responses. When the Microcantilever beam deflects it caused the stress change within the microcantilever beam and applied strain to the piezoresistor material thereby causing the resistance change and the Piezoresistive Microcantilever biosensor integrated with transducer components coverts the biochemical signal into measurable signal. The enzyme concentration signal is converted to a voltage by the transducer. A novel Piezeoresistive Microcantilever biosensing method and its application is described. The device was designed specifically that it enables the small resistivity change due to the enzymatic reaction to be measured.","PeriodicalId":178300,"journal":{"name":"2010 2nd International Conference on Electronic Computer Technology","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115462812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to existence of WordNet thesaurus (which contains the semantic relationship between words), collecting positive instances is easy. In non-english languages, it's hard to collect large number of positive instances in various contexts. We investigated some new ideas for collecting them in Persian language and finally run the best one and collected approximately 6,000 positive instances.","PeriodicalId":178300,"journal":{"name":"2010 2nd International Conference on Electronic Computer Technology","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115865618","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This works studies a new technology for increasing the capacity of radio network backbone transmission channels by combining the two particular radio signal and optical power technologies. This paper also evaluates the results of down-link 5Gbps OOK signal of four radio base stations over 50km dense wavelength division multiplexing single mode fiber. The outcomes show that the total received optical power penalty is about 0.2dB at bit error rate of 10−9 and quality factor of greater than 7. This amount of bit error rate can be supposed as a negligible value in the performance of radio over fiber system for multimedia and real time applications.","PeriodicalId":178300,"journal":{"name":"2010 2nd International Conference on Electronic Computer Technology","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121542067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system uses computer based procedures to detect tumor blocks or lesions and classify the type of tumor using Artificial Neural Network in MRI images of different patients with Astrocytoma type of brain tumors. The image processing techniques such as histogram equalization, image segmentation, image enhancement, morphological operations and feature extraction have been developed for detection of the brain tumor in the MRI images of the cancer affected patients. The extraction of texture features in the detected tumor has been achieved by using Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM). These features are compared with the stored features in the Knowledge Base. Finally a Neuro Fuzzy Classifier has been developed to recognize different types of brain cancers. The whole system has been tested in two phases firstly Learning/Training Phase and secondly Recognition/Testing Phase. The known MRI images of affected brain cancer patients obtained from Radiology Department of Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH) were used to train the system. The unknown samples of brain cancer affected MRI images are also obtained from TMH and were used to test the system. The system was found efficient in classification of these samples and responds any abnormality.","PeriodicalId":178300,"journal":{"name":"2010 2nd International Conference on Electronic Computer Technology","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124473476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The data were gathered using a qualitative approach. This includes conducting interviews and discussion group among 70 respondents who are mainly staff of the hospital (doctors, nurses, administrative, IT personal) and patients. The study was conducted based on the outcome of an earlier study which indicated that the adoption of ICT at UMMC was affected by many factors. Moreover, end-users of ICT are said to have encountered many challenges while using this technology. At the same time, there are many benefits which can be gained from the use of ICT such as improvement in work quality, productivity, and educational tools for both users and patients. In addition, the use of ICT can lead to more accurate diagnoses, help solve health-related problems, and reduce medical errors, apart from helping ICT users to evaluate themselves. Moreover, it helps in decision making, and improving patients' safety, particularly at UMMC","PeriodicalId":178300,"journal":{"name":"2010 2nd International Conference on Electronic Computer Technology","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132795589","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
