Thematic analysis revealed six emergent themes: (a) First exposure was faulty and insufficient; (b) Lack of content knowledge leads to advanced studies;  (c) Technology-supported learning resources facilitated learning process; (d) Rationalization of both old and new conceptions; (e) Application of concepts in different fields; and (f) Focusing on the big ideas. Overall, themes revealed that teachers developed a conceptual understanding of biological evolution through time and various means. Their adherence to the teleological beliefs leads them to experience confusion and misconceptions; however, as science teachers, they resolved the conflict to learning through content enrichment and professional development. A strong emphasis on the core principles of the Nature of Science and domains of biology in the curriculum across all levels and the teacher education program is imperative. Teachers can enhance their conceptual understanding and teaching efficacy through professional development and content enrichment.","PeriodicalId":17767,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Cakrawala Pendidikan","volume":"225 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86000988","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although there are contradictions in its implementation, special education teachers have tried to implement it. This survey research aims to identify teachers' experiences in carrying out individualized learning including aspects of forms, constraints, and impacts on students' personal-social skills. The data collection was retrieved through a questionnaire instrument fulfilled by 116 special education teachers in Yogyakarta, who were determined by purposive sampling and analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The result shows that 88,2 % of teachers apply individualized instruction methods in the form of a classical learning design with functional academic material content. The main obstacle comes from teachers' perception regarding students' condition heterogeneity, which resulted in difficulties in designing the learning activity. The impact on personal-social skills for all aspects shows that 50%-80% of students are able to improve their skills through practice and repetition. In conclusion, individualized instruction applications varied according to teachers' perceptions. While constrained to accommodate each student's requirement, this learning method resulted in a positive impact on skill learning outcomes.","PeriodicalId":17767,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Cakrawala Pendidikan","volume":"38 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81159558","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research type was research and development which adopted the 10-step theory of Borg and Gall.. This study used both qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The study designed employed a pretest-posttest control group design to determine the initial abilities of the experimental group and the control group. The significant test of the effectiveness of the basic technique according to play-based volleyball learning model waas rigidly determined by using the t-test. Prior to data analysis, the results of the increase in the experimental group and the control group (n = 40) in the volleyball basics technique were tested for normality using the real level = 0.05.. The results of this study indicate a significant value for the experimental group data of 0.13 and the control group data of 0.09. Because the significant value of the two groups is greater than 0.05, the overall data for the study group is normally distributed. The effectiveness test of the basic techniques of volleyball used the t-test with t count 10.524 and t table 2.024. Accordingly, the basic volleyball techniques of the experimental group was more effective than that of the control group. Junior high school students are thus given an effective and efficient play-based model for learning fundamental volleyball skills.","PeriodicalId":17767,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Cakrawala Pendidikan","volume":"112 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84577760","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research is survey research involving students (n=100) and Physical Education teachers (n=10) from 5 schools in the urban city, and 5 schools in the suburbs. Questionnaires and Indonesian physical fitness tests for the 13-15 year age group were used to collect the research data. Descriptive statistics were used for the analysis. The findings indicated that teachers' and students' movement-related learning activities in physical education were evaluated as low. Physical education teachers have used sports techniques with the command method rather than modifying sports games as a model for learning.. Only 20.00% of them are student-centered, with 80.00% of them being more teacher-centered. Then, with a classification of less and very less, it was discovered that students' levels of physical fitness were below average, or 53.00%... In conclusion, to achieve the objectives of physical education, physical education teachers should significantly prepare for learning as well as become proficient in a wide range of efficient learning techniques (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor). Future research is required to validate the findings of this study, including the conception of a sports game-modified learning model in physical education.","PeriodicalId":17767,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Cakrawala Pendidikan","volume":"23 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83435252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is believed that social interaction and the quality of mental health can be at risk once Metaverse becomes more prevalent with adolescents predicted to be the most vulnerable group. This study intends to prove this prediction by examining the effect of online game addiction and social media addiction on the mental health quality of adolescents as the majority group with Metaverse access. This correlational study involved 700 students from 14 schools in the greater Malang area. Data were collected through the Metaverse Impact Instrument (MII) and analyzed partially using the T-test and simultaneously using the F-test to know the contribution of gender using an independent sample T-test. Previously, the assumptions of multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity assumption were also tested. The results indicate that online games and social media negatively affect mental health at a rate of 31.5%. These results provide empirical evidence for theoretical predictions regarding the impact of Metaverse on mental health quality in adolescents. As a follow-up, research is needed to develop educational intervention strategies, appropriate guidance, and counseling services that purpose is to: 1) integrate cultural and religious values into character education; 2) anticipate the potential risks of metaverse among adolescents.","PeriodicalId":17767,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Cakrawala Pendidikan","volume":"24 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84007068","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
