The quantitative research method through product moment correlation and multiple linear regression analysis was applied in this study. The sample of the research was the total population of a junior school in East Martapura with significant number of dropout cases. The subject of this study consisted of male and female students in the age of 11 to 17 years old with a family background of traders and farmers as well as a Malay-bajar Islamic culture. The results of the study showed that there was a significant correlation between peer attachment and parental involvement. In contrast, there was no correlation between both factors and perceived school climate. Furthermore, it was also found that there was a significant positive effect of peer attachment, parental involvement, and perceived school climate on students' self-awareness. The results of this study indicated that to foster students’ self-awareness, schools need to establish communication with parents, create a comfortable and effective school climate for teaching and learning processes, as well as facilitate the students to develop peer attachment through extracurricular activities. In addition, schools may also take actions to implement field-based learning and provide career counseling for students to broaden their insights of alternative self-development besides trading and farming.","PeriodicalId":17767,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Cakrawala Pendidikan","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88459302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research used a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey method. Proportionated stratified random sampling technique was used in this research. A total of 1.630 respondents consists of principals, the head of the expertise program, the deputy principal for curriculum, the deputy principal for public relations, and teachers who participated in this research. The instrument used is a questionnaire. The data analysis used was multiple regression. The results showed that the BEACCTIVE model could be a determining factor for the success of establishing a partnership. The reason is that the partnerships were developed through the formulation of plans, human resource management, decision making, and the ability of school principals to attract business and industry. The school's partnership with business and industry has a good fit and improves through programs centred on students' skills and expertise aligned with standards of business and industry, the business and industry that actively support the educational practices at schools and the absorption of graduates in various industrial sectors.","PeriodicalId":17767,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Cakrawala Pendidikan","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85174319","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a tactical approach in basketball learning on creativity and motivation. The method used in this study was \"pre-experimental design\" method in the form of \"intact-group comparison\". The sample in this study was the eleventh graders of State Junior High School 4 Lubuklinggau with total sample of 60 students. The instruments used in this study were creativity and motivation questionnaires using a Likert scale calculation. The result of research creativity showed that the p-value was lower than the significance level (0.0490.05). It means that there was a significant improvement in experimental group after receiving the treatment of tactical approach model in basketball learning. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the tactical approach in basketball leaning on the creativity and learning motivation of the students at State Junior High School 4 Lubuklinggau.","PeriodicalId":17767,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Cakrawala Pendidikan","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82437134","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article describes the involvement of parents in educating their children at home and at school. The study was carried out using ethnographic methods with 33 marginal families as informants. Marginal families who have children of elementary school age in grades 5 and 6, especially those living on the outskirts or banks of the Winongo and Code rivers, 3 large rivers that seem to divide the city of Yogyakarta, were included in this study. Data were collected using interviews, observations and focus groups. The results of the study show parental involvement as a form of transformation of knowledge systems, values, attitudes and skills. This often occurs in a patterned manner, repeatedly using examples, sometimes coercion as educational praxis at home and school in specific social environment situations. The daily interaction between parents and children in parent-child conversations tends to be instructive and emphasizes compliance to fulfill children's educational needs.","PeriodicalId":17767,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Cakrawala Pendidikan","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80060957","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to produce a learning model that effectively improves the physical fitness and critical thinking skills of students. Purposive sampling was used in selecting research sample members in which 308 (M: 153 and F: 155) fifth-grade students participated in this study. Two groups were selected as research subjects divided into small groups for the first stage test (N: 123; M: 56; F: 67; Average age: 10.82) and large groups for the second stage test (N: 185; M: 97; F: 88; Average age: 10.70). Five indicators of critical thinking skills were measured through a critical thinking skills instrument. Meanwhile, the indicators of physical fitness tests include BMI, Sit and Reach, Sit-Up, Trunk Lift, and PACER 20-M. The results showed that physical education, oriented towards peer observation carried out during the learning process, self-assessment carried out by students, and packed in the circuit learning method is proven to improve critical thinking skills and physical fitness.","PeriodicalId":17767,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Cakrawala Pendidikan","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85044944","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study used design-based research (DBR), with five experts helping to validate the character education model using a model evaluation instrument and 26 students participating in the model trial. As a result, the developed model comprises six elements: focus, syntax, reaction principles, social system, support system, and application. Meanwhile, the syntax, which consists of four steps: the initial stage, the transition stage, the working stage, and the termination stage, is the core of this model. Experts strongly agree that the model is in the \"highly appropriate\" category for fostering character development in elementary school students. There is a Socratic method in the developed syntax that encourages students to analyze the characters they encounter in traditional games. The study concludes that the proposed model can help students build character in elementary schools. Furthermore, this model can introduce and revive traditional games in Indonesia as part of the country's cultural heritage.","PeriodicalId":17767,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Cakrawala Pendidikan","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83993755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research aims to explore the impact of gender and teaching duration on discussion method accuracy in Islamic higher education. To evaluate the accuracy of the use of the discussion method, lecturer's teaching duration and gender, a quantitative study with a correlation approach was used. A research project, which deals with the use of discussion methods in lectures using questionnaires, was carried out in two faculties at two universities. Data were collected from 175 lecturers involved in this research. The analysis is differentiated based on the gender and level of teaching duration of lecturers in the competencies being assessed. The results show that the accuracy of the use of the discussion method is low and is related to the gender of the lecturer, that males perceive themselves to be higher in the use of the discussion method than females, and that even using method analysis with methods and implementation in the classroom. Lecturers who teach more than 30 years tend to have higher accuracy in using the discussion method than those with lesser tenure. The findings of this study have implications for the development of \"the use of discussion methods in higher education\" and it is necessary to examine the reasons behind this difference and to look for steps to improve the accuracy of the use of the discussion method.","PeriodicalId":17767,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Cakrawala Pendidikan","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75459336","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the rise in life expectancy, the number of Indonesian elderly hajj pilgrims (EHP) is consequently growing. However, chronic conditions such as impairments, illnesses, and diseases cause an increase in morbidity and mortality among EHP. Thus, an innovative training program with practical tips for a healthy hajj experience is needed to improve the healthcare service to the EHP. This study aims to investigate the effects of an innovative training on the performance of Hajj Healthcare Workers of Indonesia (HHWI) and on the clinical outcomes of EHP. It was a quasi-experimental study. The population was all HHWI from the Surakarta embarkation in 2014. Meanwhile, the sample of this study was all 21 HHWI from Yogyakarta who received innovative training consisting of EHP special care training (theory and practice) in addition to basic national training. Twenty-one HHWI from Surakarta were randomly chosen as a control group and only received basic national training. Pre and post tests were used to assess knowledge of HHWI after training. The average pretest scores of the intervention and control groups were 48.50 and 48.07, respectively (p= 0.337), while the posttest score of the intervention group was 86.83 (p = 0.033). The measured parameters were the performance of HHWI, which is reflected by the EHP mortality rate, the number of outpatients, and the number of patients referred to the outpatients. We included the EHP under the supervision of HHWI, which has acquired training. EHP morbidity was evaluated as the number of outpatients and referred patients. There were 2216 outpatients from the intervention group as compared with 2144 in the control group, with most of them being 60-70 years old (p= 0,075). The number of referred EHP in the intervention and control groups was 10 and 30 patients, respectively (OR 2.94; p= 0.002). As for the mortality cases, we observed 7 EPH deaths during the hajj period (2 EPH from the intervention group vs 5 EPH from the control group; OR 0.263; p=0.207). Innovative training could reduce referral morbidity and mortality among elderly hajj pilgrims","PeriodicalId":17767,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Cakrawala Pendidikan","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77074907","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
