Formalin dapat menimbulkan efek berbahaya bagi kesehatan. Salah satu cara untuk menurunkan kadar formalin pada makanan yaitu menggunakan daun pandan (Pandanus amarillifolius Roxb.) yang memiliki kandungan saponin. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui konsentrasi dan lama perendaman terbaik sari daun pandan dalam menurunkan kadar formalin. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu sampel cincau hitam yang selanjutnya direndam dengan variasi konsentrasi sari daun pandan 15%, 20% dan 25% selama 15, 30, 45 dan 60 menit. Parameter yang digunakan yaitu uji formalin secara kualitatif, uji formalin secara kuantitatif, kadar air dengan metode gravimetri, kadar karbohidrat dan uji kalsium, data diuji statistika menggunakan Two Way Anova. Hasil penelitian ini konsentrasi dan lama perendaman terbaik sari daun pandan (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) pada cincau hitam terhadap penurunan kadar formalin yaitu 25% dengan perendaman 60 menit.Kata kunci: Cincau hitam, Sari daun pandan (Pandanus amarillifolius Roxb.), Formalin, Kadar Formalin.ABSTRACTBlack grass jelly is one of the foods that has a short shelf life, so formaldehyde is often used to save black grass jelly power for longer time. Formalin can have harmful effects on health. One way to reduce formalin levels in foods is to use pandan leaves (Pandanus amarillifolius Roxb.) Which has saponin content. The purpose of this study was to study the concentration and soaking time of the best pandan leaf extract to reduce formalin levels. The samples used were samples of black grass jelly which were then soaked with variations in pandan leaf extract concentration of 15%, 20% and 25% for 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes. The parameters used were qualitative formalin test, quantitative formalin test, air content, calcium level and calcium test, statistical data collected using Two Way Anova. The results of this study were the best concentration and soaking time of pandan leaf extract (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) Pencemaran tersebut dapat berasal berbagai sumber diantaranya limbah rumah tangga atau industri farmasi. Zat warna metil jingga merupakan salah satu zat yang digunakan pada industri farmasi dan dapat membahayakan kesehatan manusia sehingga perlu adanya pengolahan yang baik terhadap limbah tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membandingkan proses fotodegradasi dari zat warna metil jingga menggunakan katalis Fe2O3-zeolit, sinar-UV maupun hanya memakai zeolit. Hasil Karakterisasi katalis Fe2O3-Zeolit dengan menggunakan metilen biru diperoleh luas permukaan spesifik 236,80 m2/g, sedangkan uji menggunakan spektrofotometer FTIR didapatkan bilangan gelombang 520,74 cm-1 yang merupakan karakteristik dari Fe2O3-zeolit. Berdasarkan studi pendahuluan diperoleh kondisi optimum yaitu konsentrasi metil jingga 25 ppm, katalis Fe2O3-zeolit 23,40 mmol/g zeolit serta lama penyinaran 80 menit. Uji fotokatalis dilakukan dengan cara mendispersikan 150 mg Fe2O3-zeolit, 50 mg zeolit teraktifasi ke dalam 60 mL larutan metil jingga, kemudian dimasukkan ke reaktor uv-fotokatalitik. Hasil persen degradasi terbesar diperoleh pada perlakuan penambahan katalis, sinar uv dan pengocokan yaitu 62,96%. Apabila hanya digunakan logam Fe(III) maka didapatkan persen degradasi 36,8%. Kemudian, perlakuan gelap tanpa sinar uv diperoleh persen degradasi paling kecil yaitu 14,82%.Kata kunci: fotodegradasi, zeolit, sinar-Uv, Fe2O3-zeolit, metil jinggaABSTRACTWater contamination in aquatic environment get increased. This contaminaton could happen from various source like home waste or pharmacy industry waste. Methyl orange is one of materials that used in pharmacy industry which could dangering human health so it must be take a good treatment for this waste. The aim of this research is to compare some photocatalytic activity for methyl orange using Fe2O3-zeolit catalyst, uv light and just zeolite. Beside that, Characterization of this catalyst is done by infrared spectrofotometry and surface area by metilen blue. The specific surface area characterization result is 236,80 m2/g then infrared spectrophotometer showed wavennumber at 520,74 cm-1 that specific for Fe2O3-zeolit. Based on preliminary research showed optimum condition at 25 ppm of methyl orange, Fe2O3-zeolit 23,40 mmol/g zeolite and uv radiaton time is 80 minutes.Photodegradation test is done by disper 150 g Fe2O3-zeolit in 60 ml methyl orange then placed in photocatalitic reactor and give uv light. The highest percent degradation result is 62,96%. By adding zeolite, catalyst and shaked. Tumbuhan ini mempunyai banyak manfaatnya mulai dari buah, biji, hingga daunnya. Penelitian pendahuluan menyebutkan buah pepaya mengandung alkaloid dan flavonoid yang berkhasiat sebagai antikanker. Senyawa BenzylIsothiocyanat diketahui banyak terdapat pada biji dan buah pepaya yang sudah matang. Kandungan BenzylIsothiocyanat mempunyai khasiat sebagai antikanker. Pemanfaatan limbah biji pepaya pada penelitian ini untuk membuktikan aktivitas Benzyl-Isothiacyanat yang berkhasiat sebagai antikanker. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pendahuluan untuk menganalisis aktivitas antikanker dari Ekstrak kental biji pepaya dengan menggunakan metode BSLT. Konsentrasi ekstrak kentak yang digunakan yaitu 100 ppm, 200 ppm dan 300 ppm masing-masing diujikan pada 10 larva udang dalam air laut. Diperoleh hasil rata-rata kematian pada konsentrasi 100 ppm adalah 4,3, 200 ppm adalah 5,3 dan 300 ppm adalah 6,7. Hasil regresi linearitas menunjukkan aktivitas antikaker pada uji BSLT dari Ekstrak kental biji pepaya dengan LC50 sebesar 163,89 ppm. Dengan demikian ekstrak kental biji pepaya tersebut berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai bahan antikanker alamiKata kunci: Aktivitas antikanker, Carica papaya, metode BSLT.ABSTRACTPapaya plant (carica papaya L) is a tropical plant that is widely found in Indonesian. This plant has many benefits ranging from fruit, seeds, to leaves. Preliminary research says papaya fruit contains alkaloids andflavonoids which are efficacious as anticancer. Benzyl-Isothiocyanat compounds are known to be widely found in ripe papaya seeds and fruit. The content of Benzyl-Isothiocyanat has properties as an anticancer. The use of papaya seed waste in this study is to prove the activity of Benzyl-Isothiacyanat which is efficacious as an anticancer. This research is a preliminary study to analyze the anticancer activity of thick papaya seeds using the BSLT method. The concentrations of used fart extracts were 100 ppm, 200 ppm and 300 ppm each tested on 10 shrimp larvae in seawater. The results of the average mortality at concentrations of 100 ppm were 4.3, 200 ppm were 5.3 and 300 ppm was 6.7. The linearity regression results showed the anticaker activity in the BSLT test from the thick extract of papaya seeds with LC50 of 163.89 ppm. Timbal adalah salah satu cemaran logam berat yang terdapat dalam lipstik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmengetahui kandungan logam berat timbal dalam lipstik yang teregistrasi dan tidak teregistrasi mengguanakan Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom (SSA). Preparasi sampel menggunakan destruksi basah dengan aqua regia. Sampel lipstik yang digunakan sebanyak 24 sampel lipstik yang diambil di wilayah Kota Surabaya, dimana 12 sampel memiliki nomor registrasi BPOM dan 12 sampel tidak memiliki nomor registrasi BPOM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya kandungan logam berat yang melebihi persyaratan BPOM pada semua sampel lipstikdengan rata-rata kadar 108.9517 ppm untuk lipstik yang teregistrasi dan 102.7183 ppm untuk lipstik yang tidak teregistrasi. Berdasarkan uji Mann-Whitney U diketahui bahwa tidak ada beda antara kadar Pb pada lipstik yang teregistrasi dengan lipstik yang tidak teregistrasi dengan nilai α= 0,05.Kata kunci: Timbal (Pb), Lipstik, Surabaya, Registrasi, Spektrofotometri Serapan Atom. ABSTRACTLipstick is one of the most widely used cosmetics every day by women. Lead is one of the heavy metal contaminants found in lipstick. This study aims to determine the heavy metal content of lead in registered lipstickand not registered using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Sample preparation using wet destruction with aqua regia. Lipstick samples were used as many as 24 lipstick samples taken in the Surabaya area, where 12 samples had BPOM registration numbers and 12 samples did not have BPOM registration numbers. The results showed that there was a heavy metal content that exceeded BPOM requirements for all lipstick samples with an average level of 108.9517 ppm for registered lipstick and 102.7183 ppm for unregistered lipstick. Komplikasi kronik mikrovaskular, salah satunya yaitu Penyakit Ginjal Diabetik. Penyakit Ginjal Diabetik didefinisikan secara klinik yaitu penyakit DM dengan proteinuria yang menetap dalam urin. Meta analisis melaporkan bahwa proteinuria merupakan marker terjadinya kerusakan ginjal. Beberapa penelitian membuktikan bahwa terapi ARB dapat menurunkan derajat proteinuria pada pasien ginjal-diabetik. Terapi ARB yang paling banyak digunakan di RSUD Dr. Sutomo adalah valsartan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perubahan kadar protein dalam urin terhadap penggunaan antihipertensi (valsartan) pada pasien penyakit Nefropati. Penelitian dilakukan di Instalasi Rawat Jalan Penyakit Dalam RSUD Dr. Sutomo. Kriteria Inklusi yaitu penderita penyakit ginjal diabetik di Instalasi rawat jalan dengan proteinuria dan tekanan darah terkontrol (≤130/80mmHg), yang menggunakan terapi antihipertensi tunggal valsartan. Kriteria Eksklusi yaitu hiperkalemia, ISK, menggunakan obat-obatan yang mempengaruhi proteinuria (NSAID, vit B6, B12) dan kontraindikasi terhadap valsartan. Dari penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa pada pemberian valsartan tidak terjadi perubahan distribusi derajat proteinuria, dari 27 penderita 29,6% mengalami penurunan, 59,26% tetap dan 11,11% mengalami peningkatan derajat proteinuria. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini bahwa valsartan tidak mengalami perubahan dalam menurunkan deraajat proteinuria.Kata kunci: nefropati, proteinuria, ARB, valsartan. ABSTRACTDiabetes Mellitus (DM) is a syndrome of metabolic disorder characterized by abnormal hyperglicemia. One of the chronic complication DM is renal microangiopathy called Diabetic Nephropathy (DN). In addition, clinical DN is defined as DM with proteinuria. Meta analysis reported proteinuria as a marker of kidney damage as predictor of progressive kidney disease is robust. Moreover several trials concluded ARBs treatment could reduce the level of proteinuria in DN patients. ARBs treatment used in RSUD Dr. Soetomo Central Hospital Surabaya is valsartan. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of valsartan treatments on the proteinuria level in DN patients. This study was done at the outpatients clinic departement RSUD Dr. Soetomo Central Hospital Surabaya. The inclusion criteria were DN patients with normal blood pressure (≤130/80mmHg). Twenty seven patients were enrolled in this study. The result showed valsartan antiproteinuria, there was no change in proteinuria level distribution. From twenty seven patients 29,6% decreased, 59,26% did not change and 11,11% increased proteinuria level. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 2 faktor yaitu lama fermentasi dan jenis bubuk kopi. Analisis yang dilakukan meliputi uji organoleptik dan pH. Berdasarkan data yang didapatkan menyatakan bahwa fermentasi berpengaruh terhadap perubahan pH dan kesukaan atau penerimaan panelis pada minuman kopi aren kombucha. Sugar in the kombucha has an effect on the kombucha fermentation. Sugar will be used by yeast in the metabolic process to produce alcohol and CO2. This study aims to determine the effect offermentation time and type of coffee on organoleptic and pH of kombucha palm coffee beverage. This study uses a completely randomized design with 2 factors, fermentation time and the type of coffee. The analysis carried out included organoleptic and pH tests. Based on the data obtained that fermentation affects the change in pH and preferences or acceptance of panelists in the Kombucha palm coffee beverage. Vitamin C mudah teroksidasi dan tidakstabil dalam bentuk larutan. Vitamin C banyak ditemukan dalam buah – buahan, diantaranya adalah apel danstroberi. Apel dan stroberi ini sering diolah dalam bentuk minuman sari buah melalui proses ekstraksi osmosis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama waktu osmosis (30 dan 60 menit) dan penambahan gula 10% terhadap kandungan vitamin C dalam minuman sari buah apel dan stroberi. Penambahan gula 10% mampu memperkecil penurunan kadar vitamin C dalam minuman sari buah. Penurunan kadar vitamin C pada sampel sari buah stroberi tanpa penambahan gula adalah 18,7% pada menit ke-30 dan 37,5% pada menit ke-60, sedangkan penambahan gula 10% mengalami penurunan sebesar 2,7% pada menit ke-30 dan 7,9% pada menit ke-60. Penurunan kadar vitamin C pada sampel sari buah apel tanpa penambahan gula adalah 24,2% pada menitke-30 dan 41,6% pada menit ke-60, sedangkan penambahan gula 10% mengalami penurunan sebesar 10,6% pada menit ke-30 dan 21,4% pada menit ke-60.Kata kunci: Vitamin C, sukrosa, minuman sari buah, apel, strawberry, osmosis ABSTRACTVitamin C plays an important in human body. Vitamin C is easily degraded by heat, light, oxygen, and heavy metal cations. Vitamin C mostly found in fruits, such as strawberry and apple. Generally strawberry and apple are processed into fruit juice by adding sugar using osmosis extraction. The objective of this research is to findout the effect of osmosis time and sugar addition towards the vitamin C level in strawberry and apple juice. The result showed that sugar addition can affect the vitamin C level in strawberry and apple juice. Sugars can decrease the oxygen solubility causing less oxygen availability for oxidation of vitamin C. Penyakit ini dapat terjadi pada segala usia, tapi umumnya sebelum pengidap berusia 20 tahun. Ada yang mengalami penyebaran bercak dengan cepat dan ada yang lambat. Sebagian besar penderitanya kehilangan pigmen kulit secara perlahanlahan pada hampir seluruh permukaan kulit. Selama ini pengobatan medis kurang begitu memberikan efek penyembuhan yang signifikan. Salah satu alternatifnyaadalah melaluipenggunaan bijiladahitamsebagaialternatifpengobatan herbal. Kandungan piperine yang terdapat dalam biji lada hitam ternyata membantu menstimulasi pigmentasi. Penelitian dan pengaplikasianterutama dalambidang kesehatan masih terbatas sehingga perludilakukan banyak kajian dan penelitian lebih lanjut.Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian pengobatan penyakit vitiligo menggunakan cream biji lada hitam. Produk tersebut didapatkan dari percampuran antara biji lada hitam dengan basis cream emulgade, metyl paraben dan baking soda sehingga terbentuk cream. Pengujian yang dilakukanmeliputi uji pH, Uji mikrobiologi, Uji Farmasetika dan uji Efektivitas cream lada hitam dalam mengobati penyakit vitiligo. Hasil pengujian pH diperoleh hasil bahwa cream biji lada hitam dengan perbandingan 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 dan 1:4 adalah 7 yang merupakan pH normal untuk kulit. Uji mikrobilogi didapatkan hasil jumlah mikroba pada sampel sebesar 2.5 x 103 Cfu/gram. Tingginya nilai Angka Lempeng Total tersebut masih memenuhi persyaratan cemaran mikroba oleh BPOM yakni sebesar 104. Uji Farmasetika menunjukkan bahwa pemisahan fase tidak ada,terapat partikel kasar, struktur tidak rata, warna tidak rata dan tidak homogen. Uji daya lekatnya 16.1 detik, warna coklat kehitaman, konsistensinya semi solida, bau khas lada. Sementara uji daya sebar dengan beban 1000gram dihasilkan 5.2. Uji efektivitas cream lada hitam menggunakan Uji T Paired menghasilkan T hitung sebesar 4.522 sedangkan T tabel adalah sebesar 1.74588 sehingga nilai T hitung > T tabel, artinya terdapat perbedaan signifikan luas paparan vitiligo sebelum dan sesudah diberi cream ladahitam.Kata kunci: Vitiligo, Cream, Biji Lada Hitam. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan penelitian eksperimental rancangan two way kadar cu dan zn setelah diberi perlakuan yaitu lama waktu perendaman (30, 60, dan 90 menit) dan perbedaan konsentrasi filtrat (0%, 25%, 75% dan 100%). Penelitian dilakukan dengan 5 kali pengulangan yang kemudian di rata-rata. Hasilnya dianalisis menggunakan analisis varian two way (dua arah). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh pada lama perendaman terhadap kadar penurunan Cu, namun pada perbedaan konsentrasi filtrat jeruk siam tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap kadar penurunan Cu pada ikan keting. Selain itu, terdapat pengaruh perbedaan konsentrasi filtrat jeruk siam dan perbedaan lama perendaman terhadap penurunan kadar Zn pada ikan keting.Kata kunci: filtrat jeruk siam, ikan keting, Cu, Zn ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine whether using various concentrations of siam filtrate containing citric acid and various dipping time can reduce the levels of Cu and Zn in keting fish that have been exposed. Thestudy was conducted using an experimental study design of two-way levels of cu and zn after being given treatment, variation of dipping time (30, 60, and 90 minutes) and variation of concentration (0%, 25%, 75% and 100%) and conducted in 5 repetitions. The results were analyzed using two way variance analysis. The results showed that there was an effect on the dipping time on the levels of Cu reduction, but the difference in concentration of filtrate did not effect the level of Cu reduction in keting fish. Lamk Varietas Antin 3 mengandung flavonoid yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku sediaan tabir surya. Sediaan tabir surya penting untuk digunakan karena dapat melindungi kulit dari paparan radiasi sinar UV A dan UV B dari sinar matahari yang dapat merusak kulit dan memicu terjadinya penuaan dini pada kulit. Agar dapat menjadi bahan baku yang terukur efektifitas dan keamanannya maka diperlukan standarisasi ekstrak, salah satunya standarisasi non spesifik kadar abu. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membandingkan kadar abu ekstrak daun yang dikeringkan secara freeze drying dan oven, karena keduanya terbukti mengandung kadar flavonoid yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada ekstrak daun Antin 3 yang dikeringkan secara freeze drying suhu -45 0C selama 48 jam dan oven suhu 400C selama 24 jam memiliki kadar abu total adalah 6.9 % dan 7.3 % sedangkan kadar abu tidak larut asam adalah1.6 % dan 0.9 %.Kata kunci: Ekstrak daun Antin 3, freeze drying, oven, kadar abu total, kadar abu tidak larut asam ABSTRACTEthanolic extract of purple sweetpotatoes (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lamk Antin 3 variety contain flavonoids. Flavonoids has sunscreen effectivity. Antin 3 extract need to be standardized, in order to be a raw material ofsunscreen. Nonspecific standardization can measures the effectiveness and safety of the extract. Sunscreen can protect the skin harmfull effect of UV A and UV B radiation from sunlight. The study aims to provide data the effect of Antin 3 leaf drying method dried freeze (-45 0C) during 48 hours and oven (40 0C) during 24 hours on its ash content.
