Hence, computation of SCF becomes mandatory for the substation design. The conductor phase to phase spacing within the EHV substation is an important parameter which influences the SCF. Also, in a flexible-conductor-bus, in the event of a short circuit, there will be variation in of phase to phase air clearances (dynamic) and conductor-sag (dynamic). The air clearances at any conditions should satisfy the minimum phase to phase clearance as per standard to assure safety and avoid secondary faults. The conductor-sag should also be within acceptable limits. As the conductor phase to phase spacing is varied, air clearances as well as conductor sag varies. The SCF in a 400kV substation, with flexible-bus-conductor's, is computed as a case study. With this SCF, variation in air clearances and conductor-sag are computed and analyzed. The margin given in design and construction of bus conductor spacing and their sag during static conditions are good enough even under the short circuit conditions resulting in SCF and reduced conductor spacing due to dynamic reduced phase to phase clearances and sags.","PeriodicalId":175108,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Power, Signals, Control and Computation (EPSCICON)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128450703","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Malayalam belongs to the Dravidian family of languages with literary tradition. In 2013, it is designated as one of the classical languages in India and is the official language of Kerala, the south-western state in India. In Kerala, people give a high priority for education. In most of the schools run by private trusts and individuals in Kerala, English is the medium of instruction. But the State Government schools use both English and Malayalam as language of instruction. The structure of spoken English has influenced the structure of spoken Malayalam in certain aspects. Due to this influence, Malayalam has assumed certain new dimensions on account of the impact of English grammar. It is also seen that Malayalam grammar is taught using the linguistic terms in English. For example, the words noun and verb are more commonly used instead of the corresponding Malayalam words and tafto even while teaching Malayalam grammar. Most students do not like grammar. This has resulted in the elimination of grammar from today's classrooms. In this paper, we have presented the details of how Finite State Transducer is utilized to implement a Malayalam morphological generator. The software helps the students to discover the rules of Malayalam grammar. The children of keralites, who are settled abroad can learn the rules of their mother tongue and know how native speakers speak in real Malayalam conversation. They can study structures of word, like morphemes. Morph generator provides different types of inflections to the root word according to the provided morpholexical information. In the present version of the software, two modules are included. In learning module, the user can study the grammar. Exercise module, conducts test to know the level of knowledge the user learned.","PeriodicalId":175108,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Power, Signals, Control and Computation (EPSCICON)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125504682","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it possess a drawback of neutral point potential variation in the converters. This paper presents an algorithm to balance the DC-link voltage in a three level neutral point clamped inverter using a hybrid PWM technique. The advantage of both carrier based PWM and Space vector approaches are combined to get the desired voltage level without compromising on the quality of voltage being supplied by the inverter. A comparative analysis of the inverter performance with and without the proposed balancing scheme is provided. In addition, total harmonic distortion of current (%THD) and the DC-link voltage balancing capabilities are also compared. It is proven that by using this scheme the harmonic distortion is well below the permissible level, thereby reducing the losses on the drive system. Simulation studies are carried using MATLAB/Simulink on a 5HP induction motor and dc-link capacitor ratings of 100 μF each.","PeriodicalId":175108,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Power, Signals, Control and Computation (EPSCICON)","volume":"320 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133049069","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among them the single switch resonant converters are mostly preferred because of lesser complexity in controlling the switch. Hybrid Electric Vehicle's (HEV) are rapidly advancing as alternative power trains for green transportation. The vehicles electrification not only involves the traction parts, but also generates new applications for electric power conversion. One of the key blocks inside HEV's is the DC-DC converter for auxiliary power supply of electric loads. The use of conventional DC-DC converters at high frequency and resonance will increase the control complexity and losses. With suitable filters power problems can be managed but will result in huge cost and complexity. To avoid such difficulties a high frequency resonant EF2 converter is incorporated with reduced size of reactive components. Here regulated DC power can be obtained without complex auxiliary circuits through this.","PeriodicalId":175108,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Power, Signals, Control and Computation (EPSCICON)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121736518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence it is preferred not to feed this power to any direct stand-alone systems or to loads continuously. To overcome this issue, the power produced is stored in a battery and fed to the load. Here in this proposed system, the wind turbine is directly connected to a load along with an electrolyser. If the source is constant or fluctuates, the excess power from the turbine has to be accommodated by the electrolyser. Hence an electrolyser is connected to which the excess power from SWTG is re-directed for the production of H2 and could be stored. The stored H2 can be used for variety of applications. The major focus of this case arises in case of waste treatment plants and stand-alone captive power generation plants where excess or off peak periods are available. Here the main challenge is to control the power flow along with the simultaneous switching of the converter. The produced hydrogen gas can be stored as metal hydrides which is one of the safest and advanced technologies of hydrogen storage.","PeriodicalId":175108,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Power, Signals, Control and Computation (EPSCICON)","volume":"134 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123218672","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One-third of our national income comes from agriculture. So the disease detection of plants plays an important role in the agricultural field. Majority of the plant diseases are caused by the attack of bacteria, fungi, virus etc. If proper care is not taken in this area, it may lead to serious effects on plants and adversely affects the productivity and quality. To detect, the plant diseases we need a fast automatic way. The main approach adopted in practice for detection and identification of plant diseases is naked eye observation through experts. The decision making capability of an expert also depends on his/her physical condition, such as fatigue and eye sight, work pressure, climate etc. So this method is time consuming and less efficient. Here, a project is proposed with an idea of detecting plant diseases using image processing. Image processing toolbox of Matlab is used for measuring affected area of disease and to determine the difference in the color of the disease affected area. This concept can be extended to detect the symptoms of any type of plant diseases that is affected on different horticulture crops. The algorithm can be used to classify the leaves and the classified outcomes are separated using Arduino based conveyor belt system. This reduces an important task of monitoring of farms crops at very early stage itself to detect the symptom of diseases appear on plant leaves.","PeriodicalId":175108,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Power, Signals, Control and Computation (EPSCICON)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123105287","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ultimate purpose of this plan is to provide following three benefits — well equipped digital infrastructure as a core tool to every Indian, smart e-governance, on demand digital services and digital empowerment of citizens. However, the Digital India scheme is still in its nascent phase of journey, it lacks in multitude forma such as (1) Internet adoption and access, and (2) innovationdriven ecosystem and genuine inclusiveness. In this article, I present a schematic framework by incorporating Digital India's vision, managerial structure, methodology and structural pillars to accomplish its goal. I also describe Digital India's characteristics from fifteen different perspectives and elaborate the state-of-the-art for the plan while including selective initiatives being taken in agriculture, health, industries, commerce, governance, rural development, social development, energy distribution, science and technology, transport, sports, environment protection, education, communication and interaction with citizens. One field which needs more security is the mobile ad hoc network. Mobile Ad-hoc Network is a temporary network composed of mobile nodes, connected by wireless links, without fixed infrastructure. Network security plays a crucial role in this MANET and the traditional way of protecting the networks through firewalls and encryption software is no longer effective and sufficient. In order to provide additional security to the MANET, intrusion detection mechanisms should be added. In this paper, selective acknowledgment is used for detecting malicious nodes in the Mobile ad-hoc network is proposed. In this paper we propose a novel mechanism called selective acknowledgment for solving problems that airse with Adaptive ACKnowledgment (AACK). This mechanism is an enhancement to the AACK scheme where its Packet delivery ration and detection overhead is reduced. NS2 is used to simulate and evaluate the proposed scheme and compare it against the AACK. The obtained results show that the selective acknowledgment scheme outperforms AACK in terms of network packet delivery ratio and routing overhead.","PeriodicalId":175108,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Power, Signals, Control and Computation (EPSCICON)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127700628","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Repeated cessation can result in reduced oxygen supply to the brain and the rest of the body parts leading to poor sleep quality. Apnea cases are mostly unrecognized owing to the fact that the sleep studies are time and money consuming. Furthermore, the unavailability of high hospital standards and the lack of specialized persons, especially in rural areas have added up to the reason for the non-recognition of apnea. High accurate apnea detection systems were developed which made use of features extracted from the Rapid Eye Movement (REM) stage and thus demanded the persons complete 8 hour sleep. As an initial stage of disease screening, the patient may be uncomfortable to spend his complete night for testing. This paper has brought a system which can detect apnea as soon as the patient goes into his sleep rather than waiting him to enter to the REM stage. This requirement is accomplished by removing the stage dependency of features through Nuisance Attribute Projection (NAP), a used technique for removal of channel nuisances in speaker recognition system. Using the time and frequency domain features of heart rate and respiratory rate variability as input to Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier, a baseline system of 50% absolute accurate system was developed. NAP was performed on the training features. A weight matrix was developed which brought together those features which belong to same classification label, but separated by the sleep stage and patient-specific variations. Individual systems were developed which removed the stage variations and patient-specific variations. An improvement in classification accuracy of 12.5% and 7.5% absolute were observed when stage and patient-specific variations were removed respectively. Ignoring the N1 stage features a further improvement of 20% absolute was observed.","PeriodicalId":175108,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Power, Signals, Control and Computation (EPSCICON)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128645421","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The focus is to design cost-effective hybrid microgrid system with renewable source such as wind combined hydrogen based storage system. The proposed system uses wind turbine for producing power which will meet out the demand. An electrolyser absorbs the excess power from the wind turbine. If there is excess hydrogen from electrolyser, the hydrogen tank stores the excess hydrogen. When power demand is not met by wind, power to the grid is supplied by fuel cell. Diesel generators(DG) are used to support the system when the demand is not met by fuel cell. Assumed that, wind turbine power is free of cost.
