Every year a number of people are losing their life because of natural calamities such as earthquakes and mine accidents. Often, many are trapped in the `debris'. Our idea is to provide a robot (called serpentine) which can easily penetrate through the small gaps in debris and to track the people trapped inside and rescue them. Serpentine resembles the motion of the snake and is highly flexible to navigate through the available path in the debris. Basically, our serpentine has two modes of operation: In the first mode, it moves autonomously like a snake. This has been achieved through software. In the second mode, it just moves according to our instructions and this is handled via remote control. This paper presents ageing aspects of coconut oil in comparison to that of transformer oil. Wet coconut oil and wet and dry transformer oil was aged in sealed and unsealed conditions at 120°C. Variation of color, interfacial tension, acidity, breakdown voltage and frequency dielectric spectroscopy was observed during different aging period of 2, 4, and 7 weeks. In the aging process, the acidity and conductivity levels of coconut oil increased. In this paper we are proposing an integrated framework of malware collection and analysis using both of the technologies called server honeypots and client honeypots. As the server honeypots enable us to provide the deep understanding of the server side attacks whereas client honeypots enable us to provide the deep understandings of client side attacks. During our research on honeypot technologies, our main goal was to do the analysis of collected malwares from honeypots and for this we need the malwares samples from both the honeypots known as client and server honeypots. By using this integrated framework we are able to collect both types of attacks vectors. Here we are presenting malware collection and detection using both of the honeypot technologies known as client and server Honeypots. In recent years Shearlet transform has emerged as the most successful framework for the efficient representation of multidimensional data in which directional information is exploited along with the conventional scaling and translation parameters as in wavelets. Features are computed by low order statistics like mean and covariance of transformed face images. Then, an efficient and reliable probabilistic metric derived from the Bhattacharyya distance is used to classify the extracted feature vectors into face classes. The efficiency of the algorithm is tested on ORL database. The various functions of current control loop namely vector control algorithm, current sampling, space vector pulse width modulation and Proportional plus Integral (PI) algorithm are implemented as separate modules. The modular approach of implementation identifies multiple usage of the Coordinate Rotation Digital Computer (CORDIC) block. The paper reports the reduction in the area consumption by reusing the CORDIC block without affecting the speed of operation. The FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) implementation proposed in this paper also provides a real-time and online percentage duty cycle calculation scheme for variable frequency PWM wave. The proposed scheme implements division using CORDIC so that a small amount of FPGA area is consumed. This allows other modules that are using the duty cycle input to be implemented on the same FPGA. Modes in which CORDIC is used are: Rotation mode for calculating Park and inverse Park transform and Linear mode for calculating division. Pulse width and time period of the input Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) wave are measured using the conventional counter method. The paper proposes a novel event generation scheme for operating these counters. The proposed scheme is also useful where a jitter exists in time period of input PWM wave. The characteristics and hence MPP point changes with the variation in insolation and temperature. In order to extract a maximum power from PV array, a fuzzy based MPP tracking algorithm is proposed. The algorithm accepts single input that is slope of P-V curve and generates the duty ratio as an output that operates the boost converter to track MPP. The algorithm gives faster convergence by applying variable step in duty ratio and gives accurate MPP. The two stage grid interactive PV system described in this paper supplies active power as well as provides harmonic and reactive power compensation. This additional feature increases the effective utilization of PV inverter and increases the overall efficiency of the system. Due to temperature and current variations in different cells can lead to cell imbalance. Among the approaches available for cell balancing, dissipative cell balancing is less efficient due to inherent losses associated with the balancing strategy. Though non-dissipative balancing minimizes losses they either suffer from longer time required for balancing and stability issues. In this paper, authors propose a method, based on shared transformer cell balancing to obtain improved performance in cell balancing. The sensor designed was a microwave oval spiral microstrip resonator. The designing process was undertaken in Sonnet project editor® which is freeware for microwave simulation. The simulation results verify that the resonant response of the sensor changes as the body impedance changes and hence may be used for continues non-invasive blood sugar monitoring. In order to counteract the above issue, all the tasks involved in administrative operations should be automated. Integrating a knowledge based support to this automation would be a novel approach. For storing and deploying the task automation knowledge, the present research describes a Knowledge-Acquisition System (KAS) to store the process oriented knowledge to be used by a typical knowledge based system called as knowledge based educational administrative system (KBEADS). This knowledge based system provides the necessary support to the administrative staff of a large engineering institution to carry out their knowledge intensive academic operations such as optimization of student graduation path. The KAS permits advisors to specify rules on the more substantive advising issues. The system permits the university students to obtain an optimized selection of courses without the assistance of a human advisor. The knowledge base consisting of rules and facts has been implemented using Java Expert System Shell version 71p2.
