To verify that the layout of a VLSI circuit conforms to its design, one needs to work backwards from the lowest-level description of the circuit and recognize the higher-level components it constitutes. This paper is concerned with the application of logic programming techniques in the formal verification of the structural correctness of the VLSI circuit layouts. In particular, we review Michael Dukes' Generalized Extraction System (1990) that compiles design descriptions into a set of extraction rules, and then study the benefits and the limitations of using a meta-interpreter approach to extraction.","PeriodicalId":171918,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE 1995 National Aerospace and Electronics Conference. The performance of PID controllers constrained by such design equations may be sub-optimal and so this paper illustrates the use of genetic algorithms in selecting controller matrices for PID controllers without using controller design equations. This unconstrained genetic design methodology is illustrated in this paper by the design of model-following flight-control systems for the F-16 aircraft.","PeriodicalId":171918,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE 1995 National Aerospace and Electronics Conference. This paper investigates a Multilayer Neural Network (MNN) for the real-time identification and control of a DC motor. The MNN is first trained to learn the inverse dynamics of the system and after the training is complete, the neural network is used as a feedforward controller to generate the input voltage for the motor to follow a pre-selected trajectories in position and speed. The training data is generated from the hardware setup (DC motor and servo amplifier) by applying a control voltage to the servo amplifier and observing the system output (motor speed). The main advantage of this scheme is that it does not require any knowledge of the system dynamics (and its nonlinear characteristics) and therefore treat the system as a black box. Experimental results show that the MNN is capable of identifying the motor system accurately and is able to control its position and speed with high degree of accuracy, even in the presence of disturbances.","PeriodicalId":171918,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE 1995 National Aerospace and Electronics Conference. Time sharing of RF modules between Radar, EW and CNI offers savings. The Air Forces' PAVE PACE program defined the benefits and initial architecture approaches. From this, an optimum Integrated Sensor System (ISS) design was defined that reduces the life cycle cost of the fleet of vehicles using the common modules. The ISS program/sup 1/ will design, build and test modules to prove the approach. Challenges to overcome include system complexity, real time control, test and calibration, and diagnostics. The most stressing requirements were determined by analyzing requirements for Radar, EW and CNI. Open interface specifications and module partitioning were developed that can meet all the requirements.","PeriodicalId":171918,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE 1995 National Aerospace and Electronics Conference. The Naval Air Systems Command (Nav Air) led Advanced Avionics Architecture and Technology Review team of 1992, followed by the multiservice Avionics Engineering SubBoard (AESB) implementation phase team are two examples. The Perry memo and formation of the Open Systems Joint Task Force (OS-JTF) are further evidence of the importance placed on open systems at the DoD level. This paper summarizes these activities and their importance. Examples of the savings that can be expected by application of open systems are presented. Finally, significant on-going work along with critical technologies and concepts that need to be matured to make open systems successful are discussed.","PeriodicalId":171918,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE 1995 National Aerospace and Electronics Conference. In order to initialize the group tracks, the reports obtained must be separated as several groups at first. Then, each group in the first frame is associated with each group in the second frame. Finally the group velocity vector must be estimated. In order to obtain accurate estimates while not making the computation burden heavier, different algorithms must be selected according to the target number of the group in the first frame.","PeriodicalId":171918,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE 1995 National Aerospace and Electronics Conference. The algorithm is composed of a bank of Kalman filters modeled to match particular hypotheses of the real world. Each presumes a single failure in one of the flight-critical actuators, or sensors, and one presumes no failure. The algorithm is demonstrated to be capable of identifying flight-critical aircraft actuator and sensor failures at a low dynamic pressure (20,000 ft, .4 Mach). Research considers single hardover failures. Tuning methods for accommodating model mismatch, including addition of discrete dynamics pseudonoise and measurement pseudonoise, are discussed and demonstrated. Robustness to sensor failures provided by MMAE-based control is also demonstrated.","PeriodicalId":171918,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE 1995 National Aerospace and Electronics Conference. Doppler centroid estimation for azimuth-offset SARS 方位偏移sar的多普勒质心估计

{"title":"Doppler centroid estimation for azimuth-offset SARS","authors":"Ayob Sharif, Ian G. Cumming","doi":"10.1109/NAECON.1995.521926","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/NAECON.1995.521926","url":null,"abstract":"Successful processing of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data requires that the Doppler centroid frequency be accurately estimated. A method for estimating the Doppler centroid for azimuth-offset SAR signals in the presence of noise and speckle is presented. For azimuth-offset SAR systems, changes in the Doppler centroid will cause distortions in the shape of the azimuth spectrum. As a result, the traditional correlation-based estimators will not provide accurate estimates. Doppler centroid estimation based on edge detection provides a practical alternative. The edge detector is tuned to detect a fairly wide, smooth, roof-like type of edge in the signal power spectrum. This method of estimation is evaluated with real data to measure its performance. The results are compared to those obtained by other estimation techniques based on spectrum fitting and energy balance. The accuracy of the edge detection technique over a 2048 azimuth cells by 16 range cells area is found to be 0.02 PRF rms. The edge detection principles can offer a convenient solution for Doppler estimation of range-offset and non-offset SAR signals as well.","PeriodicalId":171918,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE 1995 National Aerospace and Electronics Conference. Partition-based filters 而基于分区的过滤器

The operation of these filters is based on partitioning the R/sup N/ observation space defined by a size N moving observation window. Specifically, scaler quantization and vector quantization (VQ) have been used as useful examples to illustrate the concept of partitioning the observation space. Each partition is assigned a corresponding set of filter weights. Given that an observation vector lies in a certain partition, the filter uses the corresponding set of weights and forms an estimate by taking a linear combinations of the observation samples. Hence, the name partition-linear filters. Simulations include a novel approach to estimating response-to-response variations in evoked potentials (EP), buried in the on-going electroencephalogram (EEG).","PeriodicalId":171918,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE 1995 National Aerospace and Electronics Conference.
