The study is focused on the theoretical substantiation of the role structure of leadership skills and testing the role–structure questionnaire. The study was attended by 236 studied at the age of 18-55 as a psychometric sample. Tested in this study The role– structure questionnaire of leadership skills allows to evaluate the degree of development of leadership skills by the roles of the Negotiator, who performs a communicative function of leadership, a Coach, who performs a didactic function of leadership, a Guide who performs an organizational function of leadership, a Counsellor, who performs the communicative and organizational function of leadership, a Motivator who performs a motivational function of leadership, a Friend who performs an emotional function of leadership. Special attention is paid to the personality development of the future leader. The results of a pedagogical experiment based on the following conducted methods are highlighted in the article: the method of sociometric measurements, Kettel's multifactorial questionnaire, and the “Personal Differential” test. Based on the results of the analysis of respondents' answers, the main leadership qualities of students were established. The importance of mandatory study of leadership disciplines in a technical institution of higher education has been proven. In the article, a program for the development of leadership qualities of students of a technical orientation was developed and tested in the process of a formative experiment. Overall, the average rank of professionally significant formations for pedagogues positively evaluated by students is in the area of 80, while in pedagogues negatively evaluated by students, it is around 30. Among all of the professionally significant formations, evaluated by students in pedagogues, there is sufficiently strong correlation link. The analysis of scientific sources on the study of the use of computer tools in the process of distance learning of a foreign language is carried out. The effectiveness of modern multimedia technologies in teaching English is substantiated and multimedia tools that significantly increase students' motivation and, as a result, the quality of their foreign language training are identified. The new possibilities of presenting educational material that open up to the teacher due to the introduction of multimedia resources into the educational process are highlighted. Considerable attention is paid to the role of feedback in ensuring effective interaction between student and teacher in the process of learning a foreign language in a distance format. It is noted that it is necessary to adhere to the principle of blended learning in the process of mastering a foreign language by students in the realities of distance learning, which also contributes to improving the quality and effectiveness of foreign language teaching. The most important pedagogical condition of distance learning of English is determined, which is the professionalization of training of future specialists.
