To address students' difficulties in writing, this research introduced augmented reality technology into the writing classroom, designed a Problem Based Learning (PBL) activity incorporating Augment Reality (AR), and compared the effects of Problem Based Learning and Teacher Based Instruction (TBI) on the learning achievement and learning engagement of Chinese writing. To assess the differences between the two instructional approaches in the AR environment, an experiment was conducted in an elementary school in Zhejiang Province, China, where 80 fourth-grade students were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. Students in the experimental group were taught PBL with AR support, while the control group was taught TBI with AR support. The results of the study showed that PBL was more effective in AR supported writing classrooms than TBI.","PeriodicalId":169051,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Educational Technology (ICET)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114989544","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the analysis of 39 independent experiments, this study found that game-based learning has a moderately positive effect on English learning (combined effect value 0.558). From the perspective of teaching objectives, gamification is effective in the cultivation of various English skills, but it has a weak effect on writing. From the perspective of learners, gamification is beneficial to English learning for learners from university, middle school, and primary school. From the perspective of teaching strategies, gamification is more effective in the English study stage. From the perspective of the learning environment, gamification of English learning can promote the learning effect whether offline learning, online learning, or blended learning. Finally, based on the above conclusions, five suggestions on game-based English learning are put forward.","PeriodicalId":169051,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Educational Technology (ICET)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127504211","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the fight against the epidemic, famous online teachers and universities gathered together, and golden courses and MOOCs gathered together, thus creating an “education revolution”. How to grasp the relationship between content and form? How to optimize teaching content? How do teaching activities unfold? How to use the teaching platform is a thorny problem for online education. Starting from the relationship between form and god, this paper advocates the combination of form and spirit, the unity of form and spirit, the double work of form and spirit, and the perfection of form and spirit, and puts forward the viewpoint of “content is king, form is gold”. “Content is king” focuses on teaching content, teaching elements and teaching objectives, while “form is gold” highlights teaching methods, teaching modes and teaching means. The combination of the two can form the “best partner”., focusing on the “shape” and “god” fusion around teaching concept, teaching orientation, teaching strategy, teaching design, teaching means, teaching platform, teaching preparation, teaching process and teaching evaluation, teaching resources, teaching quality project and puts forward the content reform feasible measures and model innovation, promote to realize the unity of teaching and learning, knowledge and the transformation.","PeriodicalId":169051,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Educational Technology (ICET)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129840072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many universities use small private online courses (SPOC) to facilitate the combination of MOOC and traditional campus classroom teaching, which effectively make up for the shortcomings of MOOC. This study is based on the teaching design of three platforms and four stages of “SPOC Classroom”. This aims to analyze the effectiveness of SPOC and its implementation problems during the coronavirus pandemic in higher education. A descriptive qualitative approach was used and the sample was obtained by purposive sampling technique at a normal university in Western China. The sample was 27 students who take the “Modern Mathematics Education with Technology” course. Furthermore, the data were on students' activeness in accessing SPOC on the Zhihuishu platform and the results of their final project to make mathematics learning media using dynamic mathematics software. The results showed the effectiveness of SPOC on student learning activeness using the Zhihuishu platform reached 81.5%. All students completed the courses on the platform and they actively discuss and ask questions. However, the problems that were found while implementing SPOC with the blended learning approach were poor internet connection, monotonous learning methods, and less objective final assignments","PeriodicalId":169051,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Educational Technology (ICET)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131895753","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A typical floor of an actual building at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China was picked to perform the network simulation. That includes a variety of common study rooms, computer rooms, and administrative rooms. The floor is divided into regions and rooms based on a few factors such as the room's nature, size, and function of each region. The simulation of the proposed network is presented and analyzed using different scenarios for different rooms. In each simulation scenario, end-to-end delay, and global MAC throughput were considered to evaluate the network performance. A compromise between those two factors was made to maintain the proposed system, cost-effective, flexible, and maintain power consumption reduction. The findings show that the network design, topology, and the total number of sensor nodes will generally depend on the region or the room size where the network is implemented.","PeriodicalId":169051,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Educational Technology (ICET)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124820552","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
