In order to archieve good adaptation to the apical diameter, the master gutta-percha (GP) point should match the last instrument used at the working length. The aim of this study was to determine whether the diameters of the standard gutta-percha points comply with the ISO standard. Materials and method. The diameter at the tip (D0) of GP points (2% taper) sizes 30, 35 and 40 manufactured by Meta Biomed, South Korea (group A) and DiaDent, South Korea (group B) was assessed using an endodontic gauge (Dentsply Maillefer, Switzerland). The percentage of points larger than ISO size, compliant and smaller than ISO size, was calculated. Data were analysed using the chi2 test, with a significance level of 0.05. Results. 71.2% of assessed points met the ISO size requirements, 16.2% were smaller and 12.6% were larger than expected. These percentages were 76%, 12.6% and 11.4% in group A, and 66.4%, 19.6% and 14% in group B, respectively. There were no statistically significant differences between the percentage of proper and incorrect sizes in groups A and B overall, or for sizes 35 and 40. Only for group A 30 the standardisation of the points was more accurate than for group B 30 (p<0.001). Conclusions. This study shows that the dimensions of gutta-percha points may differ from the ISO standard. Mental health disorders are more prevalent in pregnancy than in the general population. Anxiety disorders in pregnancy, particularly Pregnancy-Related Anxiety (PrA) have multiple negative consequences for the mother and her child. Pregnant patients have multiple visits with their Obstetric-Gynaecologist or General Practitioner, who can start the necessary treatment or refer them to a psychiatrist. Objective. The aim our the study is to evaluate the knowledge of General Practitioners and Obstetrician-Gynaecologists about mental health disorders in pregnancy, and to suggest areas of improvement in clinical practice. Materials and method. General Practitioners and Obstetricians-Gynaecologists in Poland were asked to complete an online survey consisting of a socio-demographic questionnaire. The questionnaire regarded mental health disorders in pregnancy, and questions regarding anxiety disorders in pregnancy. The results were analysed separately using Pearson correlation calculations for General Practitioners and Obstetrician-Gynaecologists. Results. One hundred-one respondents completed an online survey. When asked about the most common disorders in pregnancy, psychiatric conditions were only 5% and 2% of the listed conditions listed by Obstetrician-Gynaecologists and General Practitioners, respectively. 50% of Obstetrician-Gynaecologists and 25% of General Practitioners claimed they were unaware of such conditions as PrA. Conclusions. The awareness of mental health disorders, especially Pregnancy-Related Anxiety, among General Practitioners and Obstetricians-Gynaecologists, is inadequate. Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common, chronic, recurrent dermatosis. It frequently decreases the quality of life and leads to frustration of both patients and their families. Patients with AD seek a variety of therapeutic options, including non-conventional methods. The aim of the study was to determine which practices of unproved or uncertain effectiveness are most frequently used by AD patients in Poland. Materials and methods. 113 survey participants were enrolled (99 parents of children and 14 adults) in Poland diagnosed with AD who responded to an online survey created using Google Forms distributed to online support groups for parents of patients and patients diagnosed with AD. Respondents were given a list of methods of unproved or uncertain treatments for AD, and were asked to choose the methods that they had employed at least once in their lives to manage their or their children’s AD. Results. At least one method described in the study to manage AD had been tried by 76.1% of respondents. Black seed oil was the most popular pure oil, with up to 36.3% of respondents having tried it, making it as popular as cannabinoid-containing ointments and creams. The use of propolis was reported by 24.8% of respondents. Acupuncture had been tried at least once by 23.9% of patients or parents of patients, while 18% attempted bioresonance. Conclusions. This study reveals that AD patients engage in a wide range of practices that contradict current knowledge and recommendations. Despite the fact that a variety of synthetic medications are utilized as conventional treatment for clinically depressed patients, these drugs have side effects that can jeopardize the therapeutic outcome. In recent decades, there has been a rise in research and interest in the psychopharmacology of natural treatments. Thus, it’s worthwhile researching for antidepressants derived from plants that have a demonstrated effect and a favorable benefit-to-risk ratio. By virtue of their medicinal constituents, a variety of medicinal plants and medicines produced from these plants have exhibited antidepressant properties. As a result, major pharmaceutical companies are currently researching plant materials extensively for their possible medical benefit. Depression is caused by low levels of monoamines such as noradrenaline, dopamine, and serotonin in the brain. Therefore, treatments that restore lowered levels of these monoamines in the brain by blocking monoamine oxidase or decreasing reuptake of these neurotransmitters could be beneficial in the treatment of depression.
