Despite growing interest in these constructs, their joint effects and underlying mechanisms are underexplored, particularly in emerging economies. Drawing on the resource-based and dynamic capabilities views, we develop a conceptual model and test it with a partial least squares–structural equation model using data from 356 senior managers. Our results show that government support significantly enhances open innovation and directly improves performance. Open innovation positively influences ambidexterity and performance, acting as a partial mediator. Dynamic capabilities also strengthen ambidexterity. These findings show the interdependent role played by external support and internal capabilities in enabling firms to balance exploration and exploitation and attain sustained performance. The CANVAS focuses on target customers but fails to consider the intermediaries situated between these target customers and end customers, especially consumers who are not directly targeted. Digitalization (e.g., the Internet of Things and digital platforms) has enabled direct interactions between manufacturers and their end customers, facilitating more profound insights into customer needs and preferences. Incumbent manufacturers must leverage digitalization to gain direct access to end customers and add value across the value chain. However, this transition poses challenges in redefining the roles of intermediaries and ensuring value delivery to all stakeholders. While direct contact with end customers enables manufacturers to bypass intermediaries and tailor offerings to consumer needs, it also risks disrupting existing intermediary relationships. Manufacturers must maintain strong intermediary relationships and align strategies with market dynamics to mitigate risks and foster collaboration. This article addresses how the CANVAS can be extended to encompass the entire value chain from manufacturers to end customers. We introduce the concept of a market-sided ecosystem comprising direct customers, intermediaries, and end customers. We also emphasize the need for value creation and delivery across all these direct and indirect customers. Several tools (e.g., Pains and Gains, Customer Journey, Intent Analysis) are used to aid in understanding complex relationships within the ecosystem and identifying conflicting interests. In conclusion, integrating digitalization, sustainability, and customer-centricity into business models necessitates a holistic approach, navigating complex ecosystem dynamics to create and deliver value across the value chain.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":16678,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Open Innovation: Technology, Market, and Complexity","volume":"11 3","pages":"Article 100623"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"144931790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adopting a lexicon-based approach, the study utilized two widely recognized sentiment dictionaries, specialized in financial and economic contexts, to build the sentiment index. Data was mined from nine official economic and financial news websites for the period 2017–2024 using GDELT, resulting in approximately 200,000 URLs relevant to inflation sentiment. Our findings confirm two key points. First, sentiment factors are a significant predictor of inflation fluctuations, contributing 22.3 % to the variance. Second, by incorporating sentiment variables into Vector Autoregressive (VAR) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) models, we achieved an acceptable accuracy in forecasting Vietnam's inflation. These findings, on the one hand, provide an empirical case for utilizing sentiment analysis in macroeconomic forecasting within developing countries. On the other hand, these findings suggest that policymakers should leverage sentiment analysis to enhance the effectiveness and timeliness of economic management in an increasingly volatile economy.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":16678,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Open Innovation: Technology, Market, and Complexity","volume":"11 3","pages":"Article 100620"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"144920297","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Utilizing a quantitative research methodology, data was gathered through questionnaires from 132 top-level managers, representing a response rate of 59.70 per cent. To ensure reliability and validity, the research instrument was pilot-tested, and the dataset underwent rigorous statistical appraisal, comprising Cronbach’s Alpha for internal consistency and assessments for multicollinearity confirming the data's robustness for analysis. The findings indicate that both OI and OT serve as significant mediators in the relationship between TL and LOS. This research contributes a novel conceptual framework by incorporating these three constructs within the under-examined context of Thai public sector governance. It theorizes that TL, OI, and OT function as an interrelated system wherein TL nurtures a culture of innovation and transparency, which in turn establishes a strengthening cycle enhancing operational efficiency, citizen satisfaction, and institutional legitimacy. The implications of this study are twofold. Academically, it suggests a substantive foundation for theories of public sector leadership in a Southeast Asian context. Practically, it emphasizes the necessity for structured leadership development programmes and the strategic implementation of digital transformation to increase local governance. Such transformations should be driven by the internal requirements of the organization and the expectations of external stakeholders. DT attempts may fail if not aligned with people, information, processes, and existing capabilities within the organization. Even though organizations intend to start their digitalization journey by transforming the procurement process, as it directly connects to cost, productivity, quality, and compliance goals of organizations, procurement digitalization readiness is an underexplored area compared to holistic supply chain maturity, indicating a gap in both research and practice. The main objective of this research is to spotlight the complexities related to procurement digitalization and develop a novel maturity model that combines the strengths of fuzzy logic with a comprehensive and generic maturity framework tailored for the systematic assessment of procurement function. A six-phase structured approach encompassing literature review, criteria validation, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) integration, survey execution, fuzzy model application and validation is used to develop a generic mathematical algorithm to assess DT readiness. Case studies across various sectors such as energy, banking, defense, manufacturing, healthcare, education, and construction demonstrate effectiveness of the proposed model in addressing vagueness in maturity investigations. Previous studies have not sufficiently examined the combined influence of organizational performance and stakeholder engagement on strengthening digital capabilities, leaving a research gap that this study aims to fill. Using data collected from 216 respondents representing key tourism stakeholders, this study applies Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate the relationships among organizational performance, stakeholder engagement, and digital literacy and communication. The results show that organizational performance significantly influences DLC (path coefficient 0.823; T-statistic 27.444; P-value 0.002), as does stakeholder engagement (path coefficient 0.841; T-statistic 29.821; P-value 0.000). The digital literacy variable has an R² value of 0.852, indicating its strong explanatory power in digital communication development. Based on these findings, recommended strategies include the development of targeted training modules on destination management, local culture, and digital marketing, alongside the implementation of a collaborative digital platform designed to enhance stakeholder skills. While prior studies have explored various enablers of FI, there is limited focus on how MSMEs can practically navigate the innovation process under financial, managerial, and operational limitations. This study addresses this gap by designing a FI framework tailored for micropreneurs. Utilizing an Action Design Research (ADR) methodology integrated with the Design Thinking (DT) approach, this research has five stages: empathy, define, ideation, prototype, and test. The first two stages involve semi-structured interviews with 12 Indonesian fashion micropreneurs, analyzed using NVivo 14 to construct user personas and identify core problems. The final stage is conducted through a collaborative DT workshop with 30 fashion micropreneurs. The findings reveal that micropreneurs can co-create a practical FI guideline aligned with contextual realities.
