Thus, migration to induction cookers replacing gas stoves is driven by the state through efficient cooking program. In this context, the study of the problems that the use of induction cookers will bring to the grid, when its use massively is evident. This work focuses on the generation of harmonic induction cookers due to switching the inverter. That said, two modulation techniques are analyzed in this paper, modified SPWM and trapezoidal modulation. To this, it was simulated in simulink/matlab both modulations controlling an inverter series resonant full bridge feeds the induction cooker. Product of these simulations the harmonics in the voltage signals obtained is calculated and analyzed. As a result it is concluded that by the modified SPWM modulation a voltage signal with lower levels of harmonics is obtained, which would facilitate filtering signals and the effect of harmonics on the network would be smaller.","PeriodicalId":166098,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"161 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123003219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lately, there has been considerable interest in GP's community to develop semantic genetic operators, i.e., operators that work on the phenotype. In this contribution, we describe EvoDAG (Evolving Directed Acyclic Graph) which is a Python library that implements a steady-state semantic Genetic Programming with tournament selection using an extension of our previous crossover operators based on orthogonal projections in the phenotype space. To show the effectiveness of EvoDAG, it is compared against state-of-the-art classifiers on different benchmark problems, experimental results indicate that EvoDAG is very competitive.","PeriodicalId":166098,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"166 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116058269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents the simulation analysis of different commutations' scenarios in the IPS to identify current and voltage characteristics in sources and loads. In addition, the use of optocouplers synchronized with the power grid and a dead-time, is proposed in order to enable a correct control of commutations between ports. Experimental results show that the proposed solution allows that commutations in the IPS have been performed properly to avoid short-circuit current in the system. Likewise, it is evident that the use of a dead-time between commutations is very important to avoid possible faults or connection mistakes between ports, it which may occur due to the phase difference between the power sources or the loads power factor.","PeriodicalId":166098,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116645959","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This work's incremental contributions are: First, a small and simple regulated cascode current mirror (RGC) is presented that is composed of a common source amplifier coupled with a diode connected self-cascode (SC). This RGC is incorporated in a standard folded cascode amplifier to boost its gain and modestly increase its high impedance output's operating head room, which is beneficial in the sub 1V power supply (VDD) environments. Second, amplifier's inputs can span to the rails via using two pairs of differential PMOSFETs in parallel, where the secondary pair is DC level shifted by NMOSFETs. As the amplifier's inputs span the rails, a single FET steers the same tail current between the amplifier's primary and secondary input PMOSFET pairs, thereby keeping its transconductance almost constant, considering that the amplifier operates in subthreshold. Montecarlo (MC) and worst case (WC) simulations indicate the following specifications are achievable: VDD minimum ∼ 0.8v; IDD ∼ 260nA; input range rail to rail; offset voltage ∼ 5mV; output range ∼ 25mV from the rails; open loop gain (Av) ∼ 138dB with unity gain bandwidth (fu) ∼ 2MHz and phase margin (PM) ∼ 30 degrees; power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) ∼ −120dB; common mode rejection ratio (CMRR) ∼ −140dB; slew rate (SR) ∼ 1V/ uS; settling time (ts) ∼ 3uS.","PeriodicalId":166098,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121381381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The wind speed estimations obtained are used for computing the WT generator speed that maximize the extraction of wind power. This optimum generator speed is used as reference for the speed controller of a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) that works as a wind generator. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated by using a WT emulator that is simulated in Matlab/Simulink. The results obtained by using a wind speed estimator as a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm are compared with the results obtained by using a perturb and observe (P&O) algorithm. Due the proposed algorithm is based on the WT mathematical model, it is sensitive to parameter uncertainties. Therefore, in order to evaluate which parameter variation will have a deeper impact in the performance of the wind speed estimator, a sensitive analysis is carried out by sweeping some parameter that will vary in a real WT. Pros and cons of the use of the proposed algorithm are discussed.","PeriodicalId":166098,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129094832","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
