The seizure patterns found were tonic-clonic seizures and absence seizures. 9 cases were classified as generalized epilepsy and 7 cases as partial epilepsy. Neuroimages study revealed the following damage of brain parenchyma: hemisphere porencefalia and cists, temporal loss of neurons, gliosis, occipital cyst and occipital retraction of left ventricle, and calcifications in temporal and parietal region. The electroclinical findings were correlated with the epilepsy network examining the lesion of brain parenchyma induced by the seizure types. Frontotemporal, frontoparietal and occipital brain regions appeared as the most affected regions.","PeriodicalId":162406,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Clinical and Medical Education Research","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131908027","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence this study intends to evaluate the patterns of perceived psychological stress as well as explore the factors associated with it using the validated Covid- 19 Peritraumatic Distress Index (CPDI) among practicing dentists in Bengaluru city. Methodology: The survey used a pretested, self-reported COVID-19 Peritraumatic Stress Index (CPDI) questionnaire. It captures the details concerning anxiety, depression, phobias, cognitive change, avoidance and compulsive behaviour, physical symptoms, and loss of social functioning and collectively quantifies the stress on a scale of 0–100. A CPDI score of ≤27 indicated low or no stress, 28–51 indicated mild to moderate stress, and ≥52 indicated severe stress. A sample size of 300 was obtained and descriptive and inferential statistics were done using SSP software version 24. Results: A logistic regression analysis showed that the general practitioners had higher CPDI scores which indicated significantly increased stress (p=0.000). Similarly, practitioners with work experience between 6-10years showed significantly increased signs of stress. Conclusion: Every practicing dentist had some form of stress as measured according to CPDI. This is an easy tool that can be used for screening for distress during the pandemic. The risk of contagion, fear or uncertainty of education, financial implications and future practice avenues may be the cause of acute stress.","PeriodicalId":162406,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Clinical and Medical Education Research","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134385780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Research in Nampula, “Alert Community for a Prepared Hospital”, identified rituals leaders and counsellors as relevant agents to achieve sexual and reproductive health education for adolescents. Lúrio University’s partnership with the University of Saskatchewan in Canada obtained funding for this operational research. Meetings were held with local partners and with the actors involved in the rites. The organisers of the ceremonies are the resource persons for a transformative education intervention on adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights. Objective: Assess education provided in adolescent’ initiation rituals about sexual and reproductive health and rights. Methods: Descriptive qualitative study, using interviews, carried out in Lúrio University Campus in October 2022. The recommendations of the Declaration of Helsinki were respected, and the study had the approval of the Bioethics Committees for Health at Lúrio University and the University of Saskatchewan. Results: 17 organisers were interviewed, 15 men and 2 women, with an average age of 54 years, mostly with primary schooling and peasants, living in various neighbourhoods of Nampula. The interviewees show significant differences, but also some homogeneity in the teaching given, although limitations are found on sexual and reproductive health, with the subject of contraceptives being scarcely broached. The teaching on interpersonal respect is mentioned, however, this orientation shows gender inequity. Conclusion: Rituals organisers are a traditional class of broad social impact but reveal little knowledge about sexual and reproductive health and rights. Informing this group and educating the rituals counsellors will be necessary to achieve adolescents’ behaviour changes.","PeriodicalId":162406,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Clinical and Medical Education Research","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132535753","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Reports of HS patients with liver failure are limited. Here we report two liver damage cases with ANK1 mutations. Based on liver manifestations and ANK1 gene mutations in these two patients, we suggest liver damage is related to ANK1, hoping it can expand the phenotypic spectrum. Case Description: In both 2 patients, recurrent jaundice was the main symptom. Before and during hospitalization, hepatomegaly and abnormal liver functions were found. Genetic tests confirmed de novo heterozygous mutations in ANK1 gene. Liver biopsy of one child indicated iron accumulation. Based on these clinical performances, these two patients were diagnosed with liver failure and hereditary spherocytosis. Conservative treatment can improve the condition of one patient while the other patient responded poorly and liver transplant was conducted. Conclusions: We believe liver damage is a new manifestation of ANK1 mutations. ANK1 mutations may decrease the level of hepcidin, which may cause iron overload and then ferroptosis, resulting in liver damage.","PeriodicalId":162406,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Clinical and Medical Education Research","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125412532","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

QRT-PCR investigation was carried out previous and during treatment with Imatinib for untreated CML. Statistical examinations showed useful agreement of PB and BM pre- treatment specimens. Nevertheless, using the SPSS statistical method that estimates the agreement between PB and BM data, results showed low correspond of BCR-ABL measurements in PB and BM for specimens acquired through treatment. PB values tended to be lower than the conformable BM values [average difference = -0.37 (p<0.001) in 36 coupled samples] and the 95% limits of agreement ranged from -1.23 to 0.48. Nevertheless, the present study showed that BM and PB QRT-PCR values followed a similar direction during treatment (Spearman correlation coefficient, 0.83; 95% CI, 0.70, 0.96). Our findings imply that PB and BM measures of BCR-ABL are frequently quantitatively different. The most accurate way to determine whether there is minimal residual disease is through BM sampling because BM results tend to be greater than PB values (MRD). Based on these findings, we advise avoiding switching BM and PB sampling for MRD monitoring during CML treatment because doing so could result in incorrect interpretation of treatment outcomes.","PeriodicalId":162406,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Clinical and Medical Education Research","volume":"315 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116622453","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although it is not accompanied by any important short- or long-term sequel, it could make the parents worried about. Objective or purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the possible effective factors that may influence time to use the affected limb. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted prospectively during the years 2014 to 2016. All children under the age of 6 years who visited the emergency department [ED] and were diagnosed as having RHS were eligible. The patients’ baseline information was recorded. After the reduction, the time until the affected arm use returned was recorded. The possible relationship between the baseline data and time to re-use the affected limb was assessed. Results: During the study period, 112 children with a mean age of 30.18 ± 18.18 months were evaluated [53% male]. Among the children who visited the ED during the first 4 hours and thereafter, 84% and 60%, respectively, re-used their limb in less than 10 minutes after reduction [p = 0.004]. Also, 55% of children less than or equal to 24 months and 89% over the age of 24 months re-used the arm in 10 minutes [p < 0.001]. The success rate of the first reduction maneuver was significantly lower in children with a recurrent dislocation [p = 0.001]. Conclusion: It is likely that age less than or equal to 24 months and ED visit after 4 hours of the event lead to a longer duration for re-using the affected arm following reduction.","PeriodicalId":162406,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Clinical and Medical Education Research","volume":"113 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117106364","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It measures the response of myeloid inflammation to bone marrow stem cells. L-asparaginase is a chemotherapeutic agent used to treat acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) by increasing the genotoxicity of bone marrow stem cells. The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of Lisinopril on the genotoxicity of L-asparaginase (ASNase) in bone marrow cells. Materials and Methods: 60 Syrian hamster males’ are divided into three groups. The first group was treated with Lisinopril 10 mg / kg / day for 14 days. The second group was injected with L-asparaginase 3000 IU / kg. The third group was treated with Lisinopril for 14 days following the intraperitoneal injection of L-asparaginase (ASNase) at the end of day 13. Genotoxicity was assessed by calculating the micronucleus (MN) percentage and the mitotic index (MI). Results and Discussions: ASNase significantly increased genotoxicity by increasing% MN and lowering MI. When lisinopril was taken at 10 mg / kg / day, no significant effect was observed. However, a significant decrease in genotoxic effects was observed when mice received Lisinopril injected with 3000 IU / kg ASNase compared with the group treated with ASNase only. This result is shown by reducing% MN and increasing MI. Conclusion: The use of Lisinopril in the treatment of high blood pressure and its cancer treatment agent, L-asparaginase, was found to lower its genotoxicity in bone marrow cells.","PeriodicalId":162406,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Clinical and Medical Education Research","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121433800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
