Coronavirus penetrates human cells via the membrane ACE-2 exopeptidase receptor. There are no specific anti-virus medi- cations or vaccinations available to treat this sudden and fatal sickness during COVID-19 except vaccination. Still, it will take months, if not years, to create these antiviral drug therapies to combat against this pandemic. Phytochemicals have a huge significant anti-inflammatory activity, which can reduce lung injury like major inflammation occurring in the lungs of a covid19 patient. To improve the symptoms of COVID-19 infected patients, supportive care and non-specific treatment are now required. As an alternate measure, fast application of herbal medicine or phyto-chemicals can help with this specific indication. Phytochemicals are a potent class of compounds generated from plants that have less adverse effects due to the lack of additives, preservatives, and excipients. The new COVID19 variants are much dangerous than the early ones which is a major drawback for the early developed vaccines. As a result, the focus of this review will be on certain phytochemicals and their mechanism of action that may be used to manage and prevent SARS-CoV-2 and its major variants emerging nowadays.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125217755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A 45 years old Sudanese female with generalized lymphadenomegalyreferred from Tayba hospital to Al-tayseer reference medical cent in histopathology and cytology laboratory department (Sudan) for her lymph node histopathology analysis. A surgical lymph node biopsy for histopathology analysis stained by H&E was performed and sections showed effacement of normal architecture of lymph node with disappearance of follicles and germinal center composed of polymorphic infiltrate of small tumour cells and large tumour cells. The small tumour cells showed irregular nuclei and clear cytoplasm. In this case report, we state that the delay of diagnosis was mainly a consequence of an insufficient clinical history, which led to an incomplete histological analysis, delay of reporting and need for second opinions for interpretation. We also strongly recommend that to obtain an accurate and precise diagnosis for AITL, PAS stain should be performed firstly to recognize the capillary invasion which facilitate the early diagnosis.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115948769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was performed to determine the entrance skin dose received during knee joint radiographic examination, covering two x-ray units and a sample of 121 patients. The exposure factors such as kilovolt (kV), exposure time product (mAs), Film Focus Distance (FFD), Focus to Skin Distance (FSD) and patient’s age were recorded in the data collection form designed and entered into excel spreadsheet. Entrance Skin Dose was calculated using Mathematical expression incorporated into excels spreadsheet. The mean, minimum, maximum and standard deviation of exposure parameters and ESD were estimated using Minitab software. The results of mean ESD values calculated for AP and Lateral view of Knee showed that patient exposures are remarkably high compare to the result obtained in Nigeria and international countries. The mean AP and lateral view of ESD were: 0.91 mGy and 0.90 mGy for SMH, while FMC has the values of 0.16 mGy and 0.33 mGy for AP and Lateral knee view. Therefore, for both AP & lateral view of SMH results are significantly higher than FMC values as a result of variation in exposure factors.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123044617","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For drug designing, we used Bioinformatics technology and the target is one of the important proteins of covid-19 i.e, Replication Poly- protein 1ab which is 7096 amino acids long and 794,058 Da in weight and one of its important domains is host translation inhibitor nsp1which inhibits host translation by associating with the open head conformation of the 40S subunit. For this experiment, we collected data of 50 antiviral compounds from various medicinal plants. Docking was performed with these compounds, combined with our target i.e, protein of the virus. Docking was done by using MVD followed by virtualization of the compound’s 3D structure on Pymol. After getting all the results, select the result having the best docking score that means compounds having the lowest docking score for further steps of drug designing.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125211100","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The differential expression of eIF3A and eIF4 genes in ovarian cancer tissues and cells was analyzed by Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). The target genes of eIF3A and eIF4 were searched by Cytoscape in STRING database. The relationship between eIF3A and eIF4E and prognosis was analyzed by TCGA database. The expression of eIF3A and eIF4E in ovarian cancer was verified by immunohistochemistry. The expressions of eIF3A and eIF4E were detected in ovarian cancer tissues, and compared with normal tissues, the expressions of eIF3A and eIF4E were higher in OC tissues, and the difference was statistically significant compared with the para-cancer group (P<0.05). Immunohistochemical results of clinical samples further verified this conclusion. TCGA database analysis showed that the expression of eIF3A and eIF4E was related to the median survival time of patients, and ENO was found to be the downstream target gene of eIF4.The expressions of eIF3a and eIF4E are closely related to the occurrence, development and poor prognosis of ovarian cancer, and they are expected to become unique molecular markers for clinical diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of ovarian cancer.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125571750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Commonly, their shape is like a wedge with the apex pointing inwards. Other times, they appear as regular depressions, like a dome or a cup. Their etiology seems to be related to different factors: hexogen and endogen acids, mechanical abrasive action, tooth flexion under axial and non-axial loads. Moreover, it seems that a fundamental role is ascribable to tooth bending phenomena due to the strength components parallel or oblique to the occlusal level, which occur during the normal function as well as during Para functions. The frequent therapeutic failures are probably due to the same factors causing the onset of the original lesion. Several materials have been proposed to restore NCCL: amalgam (abandoned) glass-ionomer cements, composers, and composite resins. Early failures of these restorations have often been reported in the literature, probably due to the same factors which originally caused the lesions. Further investigations are required to determine more reliable restorative therapies.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117010829","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many scientific articles have been accessible online in the Nigeria were evaluated for the estimation of [Hazard Index and Incremental Life Cancer Risk] for individual heavy metals. The heavy metals considered in this work are; [Lead (Pb), Copper (Cu), Iron (Fe), Manganese (Mn), Zinc (Zn), Chromium (Cr), and Cadmium (Cd)] The concentrations of these metals were obtained from the literature and modeled for, hazard index (HI), and carcinogenic risk (ILCR) via ingestion, inhalation, and dermal pathways for adults following the United State Environmental Protection Agency [USEPA] method. The hazard index for all the exposure pathways (ingestion, inhalation, and dermal contact) was found to be 21914, 1020.7, 580.8, 2.641, 0.272, 0.05165, 0.021, and 0.011[mg/kg/day], for Fe, Mn, Cr, Pb, Cu, Zn, Ni, and Cd respectively. United States EPA considered an overall hazard index value of 1.0 as an acceptable threshold below which no observable clinical effect was reported. In order of magnitude: Fe > Mn > Cr > Pb > Cu > Zn > Ni > Cd, Fe, Mn, and Cr have the highest Hazard Index in all the soil samples analyzed by different researchers in the country. In all the heavy metals reviewed, the Cd has the highest Incremental Life Cancer Risk followed by Cr, Pb, and Ni. This indicated that most of the areas are highly polluted with Cd, Cr, and Pb. Therefore, dwellers of the locations may likely be affected with cancer due to the ingestion, inhalation, and dermal contact with metals. The Overall results suggested that there is probable adverse health effects to an exposed population in all locations reviewed. Therefore, an effort will be made to prevent the transfer of heavy metals in the soil to the surrounding environment should be encouraged and soil remediation to further reduce the concentration of heavy metals needs to be effected immediately at root level.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125752733","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
