The main aim of this research is to establish the geometry and hydrogeology characteristics of the region's aquifer system, based on the results of analysis and interpretation of deep-drilling data, and on gravimetric and electrical survey measurements. First, the regional gradient was determined, then the initial data was extracted, and based on the extracted data, we created the gravity map of the Bouguer, where the anomalies are clearer. The examination of the Bouguer anomaly's gravity map reveals the existence of a regional gradient. These anomalies are typically found in outcrop areas of the basement and differences in thickness of the sediment cover in the study area. The Electrical survey measurements, and the interpretation of the deep-drilling data, confirm the results of gravimetry survey, after applying different techniques such as horizontal gradiometer and upward extension, on the Gravimetric map. The founded results allowed us to draw up a structural map showing the system faults, which is accountable for the study area structure. The structural map is a very useful tool to guide future hydrogeological researches in the plain of Tadla.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122381143","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These issues can be resolved by introducing a system that can maximize overall productivity and net economic returns, with efficient utilization of limited available resources and causing minimal disturbance to the natural ecosystem. The use of cereal-legume intercropping system tends to meet these challenges by enhancing grain production with better economic gains. Keeping in view its significance, a field trial was conducted during the summer of 2016 to determine the feasibility of sorghum-mungbean cropping system compared with the mono-cropping system. The cropping patterns followed as sole mungbean, sole sorghum, mungbean-sorghum. The yield and its attributes of sole and intercrops were statistically significant (P<0.05). The sole cropping pattern was beneficial and gave maximum results for yield attributes of both crops due to less competition between plants in comparison with the intercropping system. Whereas, the intercropping system had more total per unit area production compared to the sole cropping system. The partial LER of sorghum (0.70) and mungbean (0.76) depicted a total yield advantage of 70-76% in this system. The total value of intercropping advantage (IA) was maximum positive (+38.5), which indicated that this system was economically more feasible than the sole cropping system.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126596370","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study was to evaluate the radiation doses to patient during upper extremities examinations. The research was conducted in two public hospitals of Kebbi State with a total of 150 adult patients. Entrance skin dose estimation was conducted on normal X-ray examinations. ESD was estimated by using mathematical model which are the common indirect method. The results of ESD were used to estimate proposed diagnostic reference levels. In this work, the X-ray radiation exposure parameters were recorded for forearm, upper arms and hands X-ray procedures of one hundred and fifty (150) male and female patients underwent X-ray examination in SMH and FMC. The recorded parameters for X-rays examinations were converted to entrance surface dose (ESD) through mathematical approach. It can be concluded that radiation dose and radiation dose level estimation is essential to prevent health risks of X-ray exposures during the radiological procedures.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126703998","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We synthesized MgAgSb at various sintering temperatures and researched its thermoelectric properties in detail. The effect of impurities associated with MgAgSb on the thermoelectric properties shows that their presence can deteriorate the performance. The resultant samples were tested after 2, 3 and 8 months from its preparation for thermoelectric performance and a significant enhancement in thermoelectric properties are observed. The resultant power factor improved from 8.5 μWcm-1K-2to 15.8 μWcm-1K-2 and the thermal conductivity is reduced from 1.12 Wm-1K-1 to 0.86Wm-1K-1 and we find an improved ZT~0.91. The internal mechanism for the reducing thermal conductivity is presented which plays an important role in improving ZT value of MgAgSb.Furthermore, we discussed that the strength of the chemical bonding among the atoms may also be reduced with the passage of time in thermoelectric materials and resulting in decrease in localized frequency of vibration, which has an ultimate effect in reducing the thermal conductivity of the material.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"494 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127579923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Participants of both sexes between the ages of 20 and 59 years were enrolled across successive samples and assessed for the prevalence of type 2 diabetes, hypertension (whether hypertensive or not), dyslipidemia, and smoking status. Weight gain and hypoglycemia are the primary diagnostic and outcome criteria for type 2 diabetes when taking insulin therapy. According to the study, only 27.27% of type 2 diabetes patients were receiving oral antidiabetic drug monotherapy, while 72.72% were receiving antidiabetic drug combination therapy. Only 43.75% of the 72.72% of patients who received antidiabetic prescription combination medication received triple combination therapy, whereas 56.25% received dual combination therapy. It was concluded that participants undergoing conventional therapy are at a higher risk of hypoglycemia but a much lower risk of weight gain and other complications. Due to a lack of cultural understanding regarding these risk factors for weight gain and their modifiable risk factors, both individual and public health measures could be warranted.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130481494","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
