Uncertainty influences qualitative criteria for evaluating Green Warehouse Inventory Management performance. According to researchers, technological innovations such as the Internet of Things could be used to help warehouse inventory operations achieve long-term sustainability. An Internet of things-based fuzzy set theory model is developed in this paper for dealing with language inaccuracy and uncertainty in human judgment. It is also the first to use the Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System to assess a company’s Green Warehouse Inventory Management performance in terms of green metrics. The suggested model reveals that the green delivery dimension has the greatest impact on firm performance, based on data gathered from a case company. Numerous defuzzification approaches have been used to demonstrate the resilience of the proposed FIS model. This industry is a priority sector in Ethiopia’s industrial development strategy, but its performance is below par due to quality-related problems. Prior studies lack a model explaining the pathways to implement quality improvement interventions. The improvement of this industry requires qualitative assessment and is subject to uncertainty due to the linguistic preferences of decision makers. This study adopts the fuzzy Delphi method to arrive at a valid set of attributes and a fuzzy quality function deployment method to address their relationships. The findings demonstrate that 22 requirements and 16 solutions are valid measures. The top solutions include ensuring interdisciplinary design, employing process mapping, implementing quality-related standards and customer-centric operations, and establishing a quality-at-the-source attitude. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed. In Industry 4.0 era, a cyber-attack becomes unavoidable and needs to adopt cyber supply chain risk management to improve the firm. The data were collected from 105 firms in Malaysia through online surveys. The partial least squares structural equation modeling technique examined the model’s goodness and research hypothesis. The results revealed that operations, directly and indirectly, influence (via mediators) supply chain performance. In contrast, governance directly affects supply chain flexibility and indirect (via mediators) influence on supply chain performance; in addition, systems integration did not, directly, and indirectly, influence supply chain performance. How to control the carbon emissions of the plants and ensure their power generation has become an important issue. This paper proposed a new production profit model based on risk constraint to explore a decision-making method for the plant’s carbon emission and production. A branch-and-cut algorithm is applied in the optimization solver to achieve a large-scale constraint linear programming, where the conditional value-at-risk is evaluated by Monte Carlo simulation. Results from the numerical analyses of the coal plant of 4520 MW capacity show that, the carbon emission according to our method is reduced by 3.94%, while the annual profit is increased by 1.25% and the overall cost is decreased by 1.06%. The proposed approach is helpful for the coal plants to manage their carbon emissions and optimize their power production.","PeriodicalId":16024,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Industrial and Production Engineering","volume":"40 1","pages":"22 - 34"},"PeriodicalIF":4.5,"publicationDate":"2022-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43138791","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Shortage is permissible and the unsatisfied demand is considered as back order. In addition, uncertainties in prices and manufacturing costs are considered as the main contribution of this study. Two objective functions are considered to optimize simultaneously. (a) Maximizing profits and (b) minimizing the amount of carbon emissions. This problem is formulated and the effects of uncertainty in key parameters are investigated using several decision trees. The result of the study shows the efficiency of the proposed procedure in dealing with uncertainties. Accordingly, increasing backorder costs lead to a decrease in order quantity and a decrease in profit value. However, this change reduces the emission of pollutants due to the reduced need for transport. In addition, profit levels increase and carbon emissions decrease as the product lifespan increases. This study examines a fresh-food supply chain system with multiple farmers, a single processor, multi-distributor, customers, and multiple periods. This paper presents a mixed-integer linear programming to optimize total purchasing, inspection, food waste, packing, cold storage, transportation, and carbon emission costs by optimizing product inventories and deliveries. The model is also validated to provide insights into relevant industries. The results show that the total distribution cost from distributor to customers, the total purchasing cost, and total packaging cost are 38.68%; 25.87%; and 16.84%, respectively. In addition, sensitivity analyzes show that the total costs and emissions are significantly affected by the variance in temperature control, carbon punishing cost, and vehicle types. Based on organizational information processing theory and resource-based view, this study constructs the conceptual model with the framework of “information-integration-performance,” uses survey data from Chinese manufacturing enterprises, and investigates the impact of ICT alignment on supply chain performance using a structural equation model with supply chain integration as the mediation variable. The study found that ICT alignment has no direct effect on supply chain performance, but its indirect effect is significant under the mediation effect of supply chain integration. In the relationship between supply chain integration and financial performance, operational performance plays a good mediation effect. These findings help companies to implement Industry 4.0 and ICT strategies that apply ICT alignment rationally and innovatively to ensure good organizational operations and improve supply chain performance. Just-in-time and just-in-sequence supply offer new solutions to improve the cost-efficiency from inventory holding point of view. Within the frame of this article the author focuses on the build-to-sequence strategy of just-in-sequence supply and demonstrate an integrated approach of material requirement planning. The suggested methodology includes the determination of build-to-sequence orders, the optimisation of material requirement from lead time and cost point of view and determine the optimal sequence of operations to fulfil build-to-sequence demands. The computational results show, that the integrated optimisation leads to an increased cost efficiency, while the required manufacturing operations are performed with a decreased lead time.","PeriodicalId":16024,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Industrial and Production Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":4.5,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85557726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Monitoring of the condition of the process or production equipment is performed using established methodologies, which include the analysis of process capabilities. This analysis involves identifying the need to evaluate the production process or system, data collection, analysis, and interpretation of data. Data acquisition is performed using a measuring system, which with its characteristics in terms of accuracy and precision must meet certain criteria. This paper aims to determine the capability of the process, calculating the capability indices Cp and Cpk, with special reference to the measurement system. Before using the data in the analysis of abilities, an analysis of the measurement system was previously performed to determine its variation in the total variation of the study. The variation of the measuring system proved to be acceptable, which gave the author a sufficient reason to further exploit that measuring system. The process capability study was conducted on a sample of 125 parts, where it was concluded that the observed process is within the statistical control limits and can produce most of the workpieces within the specification limits.","PeriodicalId":16024,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Industrial and Production Engineering","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":4.5,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87008765","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
