Demerits of conventional IC engine vehicles like depletion of fossil fuel, increase in fuel price and negative impacts on the environment made us to shift to electric vehicles. The fuel for electric vehicle is electrical energy which is extracted from the power grid through charging station. In the power grid, the energy share from conventional energy sources are high, that too coal, which again leads to the same negative impacts as like IC engine vehicles. Hence the energy share for charging the electric vehicles should be predominantly from renewable energy sources. Thus renewable energy based charging stations are need to be developed more. The proposed system is a renewable energy based charging station, which aims at charging the electric vehicle throughout the day (24 hours) with the help of solar photovoltaic system and energy storage system. Further, the system operates in five modes of operation with the help of only two converters, namely a unidirectional dc-dc converter and a bidirectional dc-dc converter. Four relay switches are used to reconFigure the power electronic interface to operate the system in five different modes. The proposed system is simulated using PSIM and results are validated for all five modes of operations.","PeriodicalId":158896,"journal":{"name":"2022 2nd International Conference on Power Electronics & IoT Applications in Renewable Energy and its Control (PARC)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121016439","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Yet, the problem of leakage current between the solar panel and the grid must be solved, and total harmonic distortion should be reduced further by new topologies to increase the efficiency of the grid-tied transformerless inverter. DC bypass and NPC techniques alone are found to be effective in decreasing the common mode current. While the integration of the two will yield better performance. This paper presents a new leakage current reduction technique using the combination of DC-bypass and active neutral point clamping technique in the conventional H5 GTI. The presented inverter is simulated in the MATLAB tool. The analysis indicates that the freewheeling current of the presented topology is 8.5 mA which is considerably lesser than the conventional H5 Inverter. Also, the THD after filtering is 2.6% and the theoretical calculations show that the efficiency of the inverter is 97.54%.","PeriodicalId":158896,"journal":{"name":"2022 2nd International Conference on Power Electronics & IoT Applications in Renewable Energy and its Control (PARC)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122685327","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The linear programming (LP) technique is applied for scheduling. The elementary objective of the scheduling is to cut down electricity bill and Peak Average Ratio (PAR) of the system also maintain the user comfort level. Shiftable and non-shiftable appliances are considered and scheduled within a user-defined time slot. In this paper, we investigate the effect of price-based demand response (DR) on the electricity bill of the user. Simulation results show that hourly pricing rates can give more flexibility to schedule appliances and can benefit both user and utility companies.","PeriodicalId":158896,"journal":{"name":"2022 2nd International Conference on Power Electronics & IoT Applications in Renewable Energy and its Control (PARC)","volume":"705 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113996313","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cross entropy is determined using locational marginal price (LMP) as a variable parameter. The objective of the paper is to determine an optimal location for TTR to minimize the overall generation cost of the system in a competitive power market. The relative entropy is also determined to determine the extra bits of probability distribution differs from the target probability distribution. The proposed methodology is a non-linear programming (NLP) which is solved by Matpower Interior Programming Solver (MIPS). In order to show the effectiveness, possible 36 scenarios are obtained for 6 GENCOs for accessing market power. IEEE 30 bus system is used to show the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.","PeriodicalId":158896,"journal":{"name":"2022 2nd International Conference on Power Electronics & IoT Applications in Renewable Energy and its Control (PARC)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115877659","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Microgrid units use renewable energy for power generation. The inclusion of Distributed energy resources (DER) will lead to intermittent power generation because of the continuously changing weather and seasonal conditions. The electricity consumption of the end-user also changes according to the time and the seasons. The source forecasting and the load forecasting becomes very important to schedule the energy storage device operations. In this paper, we use Solar energy as the source,solar irradiance changes with respect to place and time. In this article, Solar forecasting is performed for one month. If in case there are occurrences of an event like days of autonomy, effective load management can be performed provided a prior possession of knowledge about the source availability. We have different Artificial intelligence techniques like Fuzzy Logic, Machine learning (ML), and Deep learning (DL) mechanisms for source forecasting. When the microgrid is set up at a particular place, the irradiance, data and other parameters are considered for building the dataset. This article consists of a brief introduction about the microgrid and different source forecasting techniques. Machine learning algorithms and Deep learning algorithms are discussed and the efficiency of the various algorithms are compared using the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) values.","PeriodicalId":158896,"journal":{"name":"2022 2nd International Conference on Power Electronics & IoT Applications in Renewable Energy and its Control (PARC)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116138026","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Elaborate designs, ideas, and solutions to existing problems are being devised. However, in this race, city planners often neglect the most critical factor related to one’s existence on the Earth, i.e., Sustainability. Designing smart and sustainable cities is a challenge whose solutions are not easy. Also, developing a proposed smart city is a time-consuming process as it involves its foundations, analyzing the needs, latest technology, infrastructure, and topography. This paper aims to analyze the patterns followed by cities worldwide in the quest to make smart cities. This shall also show how newer cities can become innovative based on the work already done by the existing cities through the concept of Inheritance. In order to do this, a dataset comprising 102 cities is analyzed based on six metrics. A combination of the Principal Component Analysis and K-means Clustering technique is used to assist with the analysis of this unlabeled dataset. It is thereby shown that these 102 cities can be identified as belonging to 4 clusters and the cluster properties can then be inherited by any new city poised to become a future smart city.","PeriodicalId":158896,"journal":{"name":"2022 2nd International Conference on Power Electronics & IoT Applications in Renewable Energy and its Control (PARC)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123984932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Solar photovoltaic (PV) panel’s output power is linearly related to the amount of irradiance reaching the arrays at any one time. To mitigate the power fluctuations, a storage system can be used to amend the unbalance between the PV output power and the demand power of the grid. This paper aims to integrate solar PV with a utility grid to supplement the demand of a load. Energy management system (EMS) estimates and monitors the actual energy generation and use. The optimum solar PV EMS with electric vehicle (EV) as a storage unit is developed based on the load data. The linear program-based optimization method is used to decrease the extent of energy import from the utility grid and the total cost of variable-priced electricity. The proposed system operational performance is analyzed using MATLAB with EV as a storage unit.","PeriodicalId":158896,"journal":{"name":"2022 2nd International Conference on Power Electronics & IoT Applications in Renewable Energy and its Control (PARC)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128646038","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Whereas if we place the PVs in right place in the network with optimal capacity, we can keep the voltage profile, voltage unbalance within limits and also reduce the line loss. Here in this paper IEEE-13 bus three phase distribution test feeder system is taken for the study and the three-phase unbalanced power flow analysis is done by Open distribution system simulation software (OpenDSS) software. PV is modelled using Open DSS in which active power P is a function of the Irradiance, temperature (T), and rated power at the maximum power point (MPP). A typical commercial load curve is used in this work to study the impact analysis of PV on unbalanced distribution network. PV with different penetration level is injected to different buses and the system losses, voltage unbalance and voltage profile are being calculated for 24 hours for a dynamic load condition. Finally, the results are being analyzed to study the impact of PVs on this unbalanced distribution network subjected to dynamic load.","PeriodicalId":158896,"journal":{"name":"2022 2nd International Conference on Power Electronics & IoT Applications in Renewable Energy and its Control (PARC)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131206125","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
