La presente investigación tiene como objetivo medir el uso de las tecnologías de información y comunicación por parte de los 75 hoteles legalmente establecidos en la ciudad de Tunja (Colombia), a partir del concepto denominado findability o “visibilidad en internet”. La hipótesis central del estudio es que menos de un 50 % de estas empresas de alojamiento son visibles en redes sociales, agencias de viajes en internet, aplicaciones de mapas, directorio empresarial y blogs más populares. La investigación concluye que el uso de medios digitales por parte del sector hotelero con el fin de lograr visibilidad es bajo para una ciudad que planea posicionarse como destino turístico importante en Colombia, pero da cuenta de la existencia de oportunidades desde la política pública y el sector privado para satisfacer esta necesidad.","PeriodicalId":157380,"journal":{"name":"Environmental Anthropology eJournal","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128915019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The experimental data was used for training these models. Amplitude of the ultrasonic waves, time of ultrasonication and total solids present in the sludge are input to the model. These factors are varied to five levels and by conducting design of experiments, the actual values were measured. The response surface methodology was used to determine the relation between the factors and total reduction in solids. To overcome the flaws in the response surface methodology, an artificial neural network model is developed and the results of the ANN models are compared with RSM models and experimentally measured values.","PeriodicalId":157380,"journal":{"name":"Environmental Anthropology eJournal","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123468528","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It contains organic compounds, heavy metals, nitrogen compounds, salts which percolates to the surface and contaminate ground as well as surface water. The current study was designed to understand the socio-economic and environmental impact of leachate on its neighborhood. The set of questionnaire was framed with questions on “Effect of Leachate” and their responses were recorded in five pointers as per Likert scale. The 99% of confidence interval was maintained in current study. The results rejected null hypothesis i.e. “no adverse impact of leachate presence near my residence” with acceptance of alternative hypothesis i.e. “adverse impact on the quality of life due to presence of leachate near my residence”. Result showed that the leachate has negative impact on health; degradation of surrounding environment with loss of social and financial status of individual.","PeriodicalId":157380,"journal":{"name":"Environmental Anthropology eJournal","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123196245","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ting","doi":"10.2139/ssrn.3397006","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.2139/ssrn.3397006","url":null,"abstract":"Increasingly it is recognised that regimes in transitions can promote niches rather than resist them. Using a combination of the Multi-Level Perspective (MLP) and institutional theory, this paper contributes to the transitions literature on multiple regime interactions, by providing a more nuanced understanding of why and how regimes interact over time. Using semi-structured interviews, the case study explored South Africa's development of its Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for power generation and industrial use together considered as the niche. The two regimes were the coal-based electricity and liquid fuels. This case study revealed the co-evolutionary nature of multiple regime interactions, through repurposing existing institutions in response to increasing landscape pressures and regime tension over time. However, repurposing of existing rules was neither spontaneous nor automatic but required a series of cohesive efforts for linkages between the two regimes. These efforts involved the ongoing interface between a broad base community with interests for the LNG niche, which over time provided a supportive environment in which to complement shared resources. Understanding multiple regime interactions, has potential implications on ‘acceleration’ of niche development, whereby new institutions are not necessarily created, but rather repurpose existing ones to serve new goals or interests. The paper also reflects on temporal policy overlaps aimed at sustainability transitions, whereby a policy instrument initially used for renewables could be co-opted by more powerful actors in a direction that may strengthen a fossil fuel based system. Thus, special attention is needed on the relationship between the flexibility of some policy instruments and the dominant groups, which may leverage them for its own interests.","PeriodicalId":157380,"journal":{"name":"Environmental Anthropology eJournal","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114404486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By developing a joiner’s gain function, we present a new approach under which countries that have invested in R&D can recover their R&D costs by breakthrough technology. Additionally, we set a new assumption that R&D costs decrease if countries collectively address R&D. If cooperative R&D efficiency is effective, recovery of R&D costs promotes further technological innovation and the broad participation in treaty.","PeriodicalId":157380,"journal":{"name":"Environmental Anthropology eJournal","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122104431","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With long time passing from the life of this experience, the pattern of residential complex development did not change much compared to the beginning and its results can be seen in the design quality and satisfaction of residents from space. Clearly the expense of land as well as adequate knowledge and lack of awareness are the main reasons for the poor quality of design. Outdoor space in this type of development was under fundamental changes so that the type of ownership, access, and size of this space gained a different nature that has not been known clearly, and poor environmental quality is its main consequence. The scope of this paper is to recognize divergences – resulting in environment quality – from residential complex construction in Iran. For this goal, at the beginning some main concerns related to environmental quality are explained, and then related issues are examined. Finally, the quality of open spaces in residential complexes in Tehran, the capital of Iran, is discussed. In order to succeed in this objective, data have been derived from 235 cases in four residential complexes by means of a questionnaire that includes 54 questions, and results of this survey were evaluated by Chronbach’s Alpha and the percentage values were calculated by frequencies of the answers. It is concluded that the residents are not adequately satisfied by the quality of open environment provided by their housing units.","PeriodicalId":157380,"journal":{"name":"Environmental Anthropology eJournal","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121230504","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It helps make ancient preservation economically viable by using heritage attractions and culture to draw in and assist tourists. Heritage tourism can bring cultural prosperity at the places of heritage attractions. It produces a quality experience in the mind of tourist, at the same time it encourages the preservation and conservation of the heritage sites. Different cultural benefits and preservation both can be made while promoting heritage tourism in a sustainable way. This research deals with the heritage tourism in Khajuraho. Khajuraho is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites of Madhya Pradesh. This modest town of district Chhatarpur is very prosperous for heritage attractions, some of them are world famous for their unique architecture and erotic carvings. Prominent paws of medieval India passed through this historic township. This research seeks to explore the residents’ perceived cultural benefits of heritage tourism of Khajuraho. A questionnaire was designed to measure residents’ perceived economic benefits of heritage tourism in Khajuraho. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted to find the significant difference for the perceived benefits of heritage tourism for different demographic elements. Substantial effects have been found on the research goals. The outcomes have important implication for government, DMO’s, DMC’s and different stakeholders of the tourism industry.","PeriodicalId":157380,"journal":{"name":"Environmental Anthropology eJournal","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128738780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Intertemporal transfers between generations have not been captured on a global scale. Pursuing to fill laissez-faire gaps on intergenerational concerns, outlining public or private sector endeavors in coordinating intergenerational exchange would provide concrete means how to balance intertemporal benefits and burdens between overlapping generations in a fair way. In the contemporary extensive writing on inequality, unraveling intergenerational equity opens ways to steer intertemporal social mobility. Therefore, the creation of a contemporary macroeconomic intergenerational transfer model with attention to public and private sector contributions as well as benefit and burden sharing are proposed and preliminary results presented.","PeriodicalId":157380,"journal":{"name":"Environmental Anthropology eJournal","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124125081","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
