As a method for recovering 3D shape of polyps, the authors proposed a method that can recover the shape accurately and faster than the conventional method by deriving an equation based on the Eikonal equation from the condition that the optical and geometric constraint equations become equal from the reason that both equations determine the depth Z of the same point. To obtain the absolute size of polyp using this method, it is necessary to estimate the reflectance factor C of the object surface after converting the original image into the uniform Lambertian image. The reflectance factor is obtained by optimizing the error between the width of the entire image and the estimated width of the recovered result. The width of the entire image is defined from the assumed width of the blood vessel. The surface reflectance factor is estimated from a single endoscope image by introducing an optimization approach.","PeriodicalId":156230,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125571474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previous studies show that listening to the combination of musical pieces and natural sounds effectively provide listeners with a relaxed feeling. In this study, we advocate an Interactive Genetic Algorithm (IGA) that composes musical piece suited to natural sound. IGA is a method to create media content that fits users’ feelings based on their evaluation. Considering the fatigue and burden brought by subjective evaluation of users, the ratio of alpha-wave power in Electroencephalography (EEG) is used as fitness in this study. Based on the proposed IGA, we built a system taking musical notes, entire volume, and tempo as variables to adjust. With the IGA system, a listening experiment was carried out to investigate the fundamental efficiency of the proposed IGA. As a result, a marginal increase in the mean fitness was observed between the initial and final generations. However, no significant difference was observed in the subjective evaluation step after the search step.","PeriodicalId":156230,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124927877","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The generation of these reports is a heavy burden for instructors, and there is a need to reduce this burden. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a system that automatically generates a student learning status reports. Students’ learning status is often evaluated from several specific items, and rule-based sentence generation can be considered for those items. However, since viewpoints other than the specific items are often incorporated into the report document, a keyword-based sentence generation function is required to incorporate expressions that are difficult to be generated by the rule-base methods. Here we consider two keyword-based methods: the Sequence-to-Sequence-based method, which learns the correspondence between keywords and sentences, and the Information Retrieval-based method, which directly retrieves and reuses past reports. In this paper, we compare and evaluate the two methods and implement the model with better performance into our report generation system. We evaluated the two methods based on actual data of about 200,000 reports written by instructors, and confirmed that the Seq2Seq-based model with Attention had the best performance, and was able to generate more accurate sentences by learning positive and negative expressions separately.","PeriodicalId":156230,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133242758","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The existing VHDER model, that extends the RNN model to dialog generation, does not distinguish turns. Thus, in this study, we improve it by adding implementing a User-RNN that corresponds to a speaker who conveys information every odd and even turn. In addition, the global vibrational transformer model, which applies the CVAE, an advanced autoencoder, enables diverse response generation. However, latent variables sampled from the entire context are diluted by speaker characteristics, which degrades the consistency of generated responses. In this study, we employed speaker-specific latent variables to generate speaker-consistent responses.","PeriodicalId":156230,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133896371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study creates a simple experimental framework for selecting time-series forecasting methods, based on the methods employed as benchmarks in theM4 Competition and commonly used in machine learning competitions. We added gradient boosting and other methods used in this study. Making test cases and modifying programs are necessary training for the learners to comprehend behavior of the programs. Therefore, we propose a method for learning programming using test-first approach and a system to support it. Test-first approach is an approach for programming that a programmer makes tests before making programs. Therefore, we decided to apply the approach to the exercises in order to get the learners in habit of testing their programs. The system supports the learners to make test cases and evaluate them. When a learner submits her/his test cases for a question, the system points out missing test cases and gives hints based on a correct answer by a teacher. When the learner submits her/his program, the system executes the tests made by the learner and the teacher and displays the results. This paper describes the method, system, and a preliminary experiment to evaluate the system.","PeriodicalId":156230,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114646191","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With advances in computer technology and robotics, autonomous machines are used in applications such as search and rescue after a disaster. Survivors typically have only a limited amount of time to live, so finding them and directing rescuers to them are both time-critical. One way of rescuing more survivors more quickly is to deploy a number of aerial drones in advance and, after the disaster, use them to scan the area and identify the locations where survivors are most likely to be found. Thus, we first model such a situation by using mixture bivariate normal distributions with randomized means and identify individual drones as particle agents. Then, we propose top-k PSO, which an extension of the conventional Clerk-Kennedy PSO algorithm, to locate the top k peaks efficiently with high probability by remembering a list of global optima and introducing a strategy to increase the diversity in swarms to improve exploration. We conducted extensive experiments to evaluate top-k PSO by comparing its results with those produced by the baseline methods, canonical PSO, Clerk-Kennedy PSO, and NichePSO. Our experimental results indicate that the proposed PSO can find multiple peaks with higher probabilities than the baseline methods in various environments.","PeriodicalId":156230,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115257292","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
