The study was designed as a quasi-experimental study from a population of 320 students of vocational and technical education students of FCT College of Education Zuba-Abuja. From the population, a pre, post and control groups sample of 120 students was selected using simple random sampling method. The sample mean recorded a slightly lower standard deviation for all the independent variables with respect to knowledge, skill and attitude, indicating that SIWES does have some positive impact on students. However, the null hypothesis which states that there is no significant difference in the knowledge, skill and attitude mean of students prior to and after SIWES was accepted. The implication of this study is that SIWES as presently implemented in Nigeria cannot achieve any meaningful result with regards to preparing students adequately to function properly in the work place, the programme therefore needs to be reevaluated and appropriate changes made. The study therefore recommended that SIWES programme should be redesigned in such a way that the outcome expected and success achieved through the training programme can be measured. It was also recommended that emphasis should be placed on teaching students organizational ethic while on SIWES so as to acquire the right attitude towards a life of work. \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 Key words: Practical skill, knowledge, attitude, students’ industrial work experience scheme (SIWES).

The study adopted the instrumentation research design and was conducted in Nasarawa State, Nigeria. The population of the study was 248 National Technical Certificate (NTC) III students comprising three capability groups (42 high, 140 average and 66 of low capability). A 305 item draft copy of psycho productive skills multiple choice test items was generated and utilized as the instrument for the study. The test was used to assess students in the four Government Technical Colleges in Assakio, Mada Station, Agwada, and Doma in the study area. The data collected were analyzed using split-half technique and Kadder-Richardson (K-R20). The reliability coefficient of the test was 0.84. It was found out that there were significant differences in the mean scores of the three ability groups. It was recommended among others, that examination bodies should integrate the psycho productive skill multiple choice test in their examination process for certification of NTC students. \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 Key words: Mechanical engineering craft, assessment, psycho productive skills multiple choice test, technical college, students, Nasarawa State.

It is regarded as a holistic approach to education. This study aimed at finding out how technical college trainers implement CBET curriculum in Arusha city, Tanzania. The study adopted a qualitative approach through the use of case study design in order to get an in-depth understanding of the CBET implementation process. A total of 24 trainers were selected through purposive sampling from three (3) Science and Allied Technology (SAT) technical colleges in Arusha city, Tanzania in which in-depth interviews and open-ended questionnaires were used to collect information. The findings indicated that, though majority of the trainers got in-service training, more than half had limited awareness and understanding about the meaning and aim of the CBET curriculum. Also, trainers showed little knowledge and skills for employing CBET teaching and learning methods as well as conducting students assessment and evaluation. Lastly, it became apparent that, technical colleges in Arusha city have inadequate human and material resources for effective implementation of the CBET curriculum. It is concluded from the findings that, CBET was introduced without relevant and necessary preparations. \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 Key words: Competence, curriculum implementation, CBET curriculum, Tanzania.

Three research questions and two hypotheses guided the study in which survey research design was used. The entire population of 130, comprising 120 teachers of technical vocational education and training in Lagos State and also 10 industrial supervisors from Reckit and Benkiser in Ogun State was used for the study. A 35-item questionnaire was used for data collection. The instrument was validated by three experts. Cronbach Alpha reliability method was used to determine the internal consistency of the instrument at a coefficient of 0.86. A total of 130 copies of the questionnaire were administered but only 127 copies were retrieved and analysed using mean, standard deviation and t-test. The study found out that there exist 10 challenges of Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme in developing the needed skill in the industry, 15 strategies that can be adopted in evaluating the effectiveness of SIWES in Nigeria and 10 remedies to the challenges faced by TVET student on their industrial attachment programme were identified. The paper recommended that government should grant tax relief and other incentives to private sector organizations who implement the SIWES programme satisfactorily, and that the administrators of TVET in technical colleges in Lagos State should organize orientation to industrial supervisors to fully understand the role they need to play in the student attachment programme. The paper concluded by saying that most of the students admitted to TVET programme found themselves in a helpless situation of securing a place of industrial attachment and also employment in the industry, hence the need for the evaluation of the SIWES programme. \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 Key words: Technical and vocational education and training (TVET), Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), evaluation, graduates, and practical skills.

It adopts the survey design. Two research questions and one hypothesis tested at 0.05 level of significance were used. Population and sample consisted of 82 business studies teachers and principals. A validated questionnaire with coefficients of 0.86 and 0.90 was used for data collection. Mean, standard deviation and z-test were used for analysis. Findings showed that business studies equipment needed for effective teaching and learning of business studies are mostly not available, the available ones are grossly inadequate in most schools. Gender has no significant effect in the respondents mean ratings on the adequacy of equipment for teaching of business studies. The researcher concludes that students will acquire more theoretical knowledge than the practical skills required of them since the equipment that will be used for hands-on experience are not available. Based on the findings and conclusion, it is recommended, among others, that the state government should make provision for the supply of business studies equipment to the schools. The descriptive research design was used for the study with a sample size of 50 dressmakers selected from three districts in the central region of Ghana. The instruments used for data collection were a semi-structured interview guide and an observation check list. The data collected were analysed with the help of descriptive and inferential statistics using the Predictive Analytical Software for windows version 22. The results of the study revealed significant differences between formally and informally trained dressmakers with regard to the application of dart principles manipulation and contouring, but not added fullness. Generally, the formally trained dressmakers performed better than the informally trained ones with the application of the three dart principles assessed in this study. It was therefore recommended that the dressmakers and tailors association incorporate a little theory on the preliminary stages involved in garment designing such as dart use into the framework they use in training apprentices. This will enable apprentices who will establish their own apparel production industry in the future treat preliminary stages with much importance. \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 Key words: Dressmakers, training, dart principles, pattern making, garment designing.

The need to enhance the relevance of these artisans necessitated this study to determine theoretical knowledge competencies they require for domestic and industrial electrical installations in Enugu State. One research question guided the study and two null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. Survey research design was adopted and a population of 677 (542 electrical trade artisans and 135 supervisors) was studied without sampling. The instrument for data collection was a 5-point rating scale questionnaire with 12 items which was validated by three experts. two in the field of technical education and one in educational measurement and evaluation. The instrument was subjected to reliability testing to determine its internal consistency, using Cronbach Alpha which yielded a coefficient of 0.81. Data collected were analysed using mean and standard deviation to answer the research question and determine the homogeneity or otherwise of the respondents’ means, while t-test was used to test the null hypotheses. Findings of the study showed that the artisans highly require all 12 theoretical knowledge competencies listed on the instrument to be effective and efficient in their vocation. The respondents did not differ significantly in their mean ratings as a result of status and experience. Based on the findings it was concluded that electrical/electronics trade artisans need retraining to acquire theoretical knowledge competencies in order to overcome the challenges in domestic and industrial electrical installations posed by technological development. The researchers, therefore, recommended that curriculum planners should widen the contents for training and retraining of electrical trade artisans to incorporate relevant theoretical knowledge competencies in their trade areas and that government at all levels should encourage artisans in the public and private sectors to upgrade themselves by undertaking in-service training to improve their socio-economic status. \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 Key words: Theoretical knowledge, competencies, trade artisans, electrical installations.

There are 3 year VHS programme, 4 year VHS programme and community college. Vocational education in Indonesia challenges the Asean Economic Community. The appropriate vocational education curriculum either 3 year or 4 year VHS program is outcome-based. Regulation of The Ministry of Education and Culture, No 70/ 2013 on Basis Sketch and Curriculum of Sewer Structures of VHS endorsed the 3 and 4 years VHS programmes. This research, a descriptive research, makes comparison between two independent samples: implementation of the curriculum of mechanical engineering in the 3 and 4 years VHS programmes in school and industry to improve the quality of graduates who major in mechanical engineering at VHS Negeri in Makassar. Most graduates who do 3 years and 4 years VHS programmes lack expertise and are poor in the field, and cannot adapt to the development of science and technology. From the result of this work, it is concluded that there are differences in the implementation of the curriculum of mechanical engineering between in the 3 years and 4 years VHS programmes at school and industry; there are also differences from the students’ outcomes in both programmes. So graduates of 4 year VHS program challenge AEC more than the 3-year VHS program graduates. \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 Key words: Curriculum, 3-year VHS, 4-year VHS, graduate, Asean Economic Community (AEC).
