In this paper, the active control is applied to the nonlinear structure through the adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control strategy to eliminate the damage of structure and then we introduce the design of a fuzzy sliding mode controller and an adaptation law. The simulation is made on a three-story steel frame model which is referred to as the third generation Benchmark model. The control force is applied each floor through control devices that use the adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control algorithm. Then we calculated the response of the structure under earthquake and analysis the results. The results are satisfied in that they show adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control can utilize the advantage of the adaptive fuzzy control and the sliding mode control very well when applied to the nonlinear structure under the earthquake excitation.","PeriodicalId":153175,"journal":{"name":"2010 Second International Conference on Computer Modeling and Simulation","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131973492","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional prioritization methods are concern impact and urgency exclusively but overlook financial losses and risks. In this work, an optimal method is proposed using Business Driven IT Management (BDIM) concepts and risk decision-making theory, whereby numbers of incidents can be prioritized to minimize the sum of business losses and risks. The method captures the linkage between IT decisions and business impacts through risk management and sensitivity analysis. A real network is discussed to demonstrate the value of the approach.","PeriodicalId":153175,"journal":{"name":"2010 Second International Conference on Computer Modeling and Simulation","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115484937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The interaction rule between agents (firms) is Prisoner's Dilemma game. Each agent can adopt competition or cooperation strategy and can also change its strategy during the market gaming process, which is called an adapting process. The principle of adapting is maximum benefit, so, the next-step’s strategy of an agent in the gaming process at a free competitive market is the same with the neighbor who was the biggest winner in last game circle. Using Java platform and thread, applet technologies, a visually oriented simulation program is programmed and run repeatedly. Different patterns created and some meaningful rules in free competitive market can be concluded. Depended on these direct-viewing representations, we can get some cognition about free competitive market and how to manage a firm under different market environment.","PeriodicalId":153175,"journal":{"name":"2010 Second International Conference on Computer Modeling and Simulation","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120965293","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Parallel and distributed simulations can be applied as fast, cost effective approaches to the simulation of large, complex circuits. In this paper, a simple yet effective simulated annealing-based approach is proposed to optimize the choice of a time window for optimistic parallel simulation. We chose gate level circuits simulations as our experimental vehicle. Our results show up to a 52% improvement in the simulation time using our simulated annealing algorithm. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that SA has been applied to optimize the performance of Time Warp simulations.","PeriodicalId":153175,"journal":{"name":"2010 Second International Conference on Computer Modeling and Simulation","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124999641","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a new GRASP algorithm for solving three-dimensional bin packing problems. More precisely, the constructive phase is based on a caving degree (CD) heuristic developed for the container loading problem. In the improvement phase, several new moves are designed and combined in a VND structure. The resulting hybrid CD/VND algorithm is simple and quite fast and the extensive computational results on test instances from the literature show that the quality of the solutions is equal to or better than that obtained by the best existing heuristic procedures.","PeriodicalId":153175,"journal":{"name":"2010 Second International Conference on Computer Modeling and Simulation","volume":"230 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126137239","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, a cascade classifier based on AdaBoost is used to detect faces in images. Due to noise and illumination changes some nonfaces might be detected too, therefore we have used a skin color model in the YCbCr color space to remove some of the detected nonfaces. Finally, we have utilized SVM to detect faces more accurately. Experimental results show that the performance of the proposed method is higher than the basic AdaBoost in the sense of detecting fewer nonfaces.","PeriodicalId":153175,"journal":{"name":"2010 Second International Conference on Computer Modeling and Simulation","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123406280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
