Modern simulation method can be used to simulate test process and substitute prototype manufacturing and test phase when finishing design proposal. Test simulation can effectively find design flaws and provide engineer direct reference to modify original design or remodel. Based on practical example of mobile phone, preparation process of simulation model was related, and a new model discretization method – partition method was given. A simulating calculation for free drop test was done, detailed results analysis was given. By Calculating and analyzing, design flaws could be found and corresponding modifying measurement adopted can be given. Simulation results well accord with that of practical test with physical product. Test simulation can reduce development cost greatly and shorten marketed time.","PeriodicalId":153175,"journal":{"name":"2010 Second International Conference on Computer Modeling and Simulation","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131605265","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To reduce it, the mechanism of edge drop is elaborated detailedly, and the elastic-plastic FEM model to develop with the software MARC simulates the rolling process on 4-high cold mill. The fact that the calculated results of rolling force are basically close to the measured data proves the model’s accuracy and dependability. Using this model, the author systematically analyses the effects of edge drop's influencing factors such as reduction rate, friction coefficient, entry thickness and entry width. The results show that edge drop increases with the increment of reduction rate, friction coefficient and entry thickness, in addition, edge drop firstly increases and then decreases with the increment of entry width.","PeriodicalId":153175,"journal":{"name":"2010 Second International Conference on Computer Modeling and Simulation","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127674923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is formulated as bi-objective since the problem of locating facilities faces many conflicting criteria. The objectives which used are related to total cost and dispersion of located facilities. Since these models are categorized in NP hard model, a simulated annealing (SA) algorithm was applied to solve problem. Also for converting Bi-objective model to single objective a Global Criterion (GC) method was applied. The fluid viscous damper (FVD) as a passive EDD is commonly used as energy sinks for seismic protection of structures. The present investigation is to deal with the earthquake responses of one- way one-storey asymmetric-plan system with the FVDs. By applying the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) control theory, the calculated control gain is converted to the equivalent fluid viscous damping using a minimum norm method (MNM). How the damping ratio, frequency ratio, aspect ratio, stiffness eccentricity of structures, and FVD equivalent damping ratio affect the optimal eccentric positions of the FVDs are investigated. The damping effects of three control strategies for asymmetric structures under El-Centro earthquake are elucidated. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed is an alternative method of designing the FVDs for seismic protection of asymmetric structures.","PeriodicalId":153175,"journal":{"name":"2010 Second International Conference on Computer Modeling and Simulation","volume":"196 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131785346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Determining the sequence of operations and assigning proper machine to each operation are two important problems in scheduling FMS’s. This is an NP-hard problem. Recently using heuristic methods, numerous algorithms are presented for solving this problem. In this paper for scheduling of flexible manufacturing systems, a new algorithm called Hybrid Genetic Algorithm-Petri Net (HGA-PN) is presented using Timed Petri Net and combinational genetic algorithm. In our purposed algorithm, first the flexible manufacturing system is modeled by using timed Petri net, and then an appropriate scheduling is manufactured using combinational genetic algorithm. The experimental results illustrates that our proposed algorithm has higher efficiency over other existing algorithms.","PeriodicalId":153175,"journal":{"name":"2010 Second International Conference on Computer Modeling and Simulation","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131994225","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The disparity map is used for generating an intensity image with a rough range estimation for each pixel. The color and range information are fused as the input data for the segmentation algorithm. Our proposed segmentation technique is based on the Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) which helps us to determine the hand region pixel clusters in the fused data. The experimental results show that the proposed segmentation technique can successfully segment the hand from users body, face, arm or other objects in the scene under variant illumination conditions in real time.","PeriodicalId":153175,"journal":{"name":"2010 Second International Conference on Computer Modeling and Simulation","volume":"205 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132275017","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results show that the stress in the adhesive layer increases as the elastic modulus of adhesive increased while the stress in the mosaic block (along the elongation line of the mid-bondline) decreased. The effect of the mosaic block to enhance the joint was weakened when the adhesive with high elastic modulus was used. When the adhesives with lower elastic modulus used, the ability of deformation for the adhesive layer may increase. And the peak stresses near the free end of the lap zone would be reduced so that the shear stress in the mosaic block was increased and the mosaic block carried more load. It is suggested that a suitable elastic modulus of adhesives be chosen when it is demanded to improve the load bearing capacity of the adhesively bonded joint.","PeriodicalId":153175,"journal":{"name":"2010 Second International Conference on Computer Modeling and Simulation","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132299229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
