However, the veterinary and sanitary examination was not fully elaborated for a number of parasitic diseases, in particular for sarcocystosis of ducks. It is one of the most widespread avian diseases and it is increasingly being encountered by biologists, hunters and veterinarians. The article presents parameters for evaluating the meat of clinically healthy ducks and those infected with sarcocysts. The results obtained allow us to conclude about the prevalence and the need to improve the veterinary and sanitary assessment of meat and the system of preventive measures for sarcocystic invasion. Объектами исследований служили домашние собаки г. Омска и Омской области. Всего паразитологическими и молекулярно-биологическими методами обследовано 802 собаки. Для выявления микрофилярий применяли метод центрифугирования с дистиллированной водой с последующим микроскопированием мазков крови. ДНК дирофилярий в крови собак выявляли методом ПЦР с видоспецифическими праймерами. Определение последовательностей полученных ампликонов проводили прямым секвенированием. Уровень гомологии последовательностей определяли с использованием GenBank. Статистическую обработку материала проводили в программе Microsoft Excel 2010. Зараженность окончательных хозяев дирофилярий собак колебалась от 0,6±0,6% до 4,8±1,2% в разные годы наблюдений с интенсивностью инвазии от 1 до 7920 личинок в 1 мл крови, в среднем 896,6±452,1 экз/мл крови. Средние показатели зараженности животных по результатам паразитологического исследования 2016-2019 годов составили 3,0±0,6%. У всех инвазированных собак обнаружена ДНК Dirofilaria repens, ДНК Dirofilaria immitis не выявлена. Видовая принадлежность возбудителя подтверждена секвенированием продуктов ПЦР, показавшим высокую гомологию с последовательностями D. repens, опубликованными в GenBank. Среди инвазированных животных преобладали кобели старше 3-х летнего возраста. Зараженных животных регистрировали в течение всего года. Заключение. Наличие зараженных дирофиляриями собак, никогда не вывозившихся за пределы Омской области, а также индикация генетических маркеров дирофилярий в переносчиках, подтверждают местный характер заражения. В программу мероприятий по профилактике дирофиляриоза необходимо включать ежегодный мониторинг зараженности домашних собак; активное выявление дирофиляриоза у собак, поступивших в ветеринарные клиники, обязательную регистрацию всех случаев дирофиляриозов животных. The knowledge about this parasitosis is currently incomplete and limited mainly by clinical reports. It follows from them that this disease is caused by several species of Thelazia , three of which can affect a human. In addition to endemic territories, thelaziasis is also recorded in territories new to it. Thus, the information collected in this review is presented to increase the awareness of veterinarians and medical professionals in order to prevent the infection of both animals and humans.","PeriodicalId":152020,"journal":{"name":"Medical Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129960151","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Persons of the older age group, due to weakened immunity, are at risk for toxoplasmosis: with age, the level of seropositivity and the risk of reactivation of infection in people with chronic infection increases. But in clinical and epidemiological terms, this group has not been sufficiently studied. Purpose of the study. Determination of the level of seropositivity and the degree of activity of toxoplasma invasion in persons of the older age category without pathology, as well as in combination with psychoneurological symptoms or transplantation of solid organs. Materials and methods. The ELISA method was used to determine various classes of antibodies to T. gondii in the blood sera of 614 people aged 60 to 93 years (conditionally healthy individuals, patients with neuropsychiatric pathology, with cognitive decline, after organ transplantation). Results. IgG antibodies to T. gondii were detected in 51,5 % of the examined people. There was a trend of increasing infection from the age of 60-64 years to 75-79 years. Very few cases of acute toxoplasmosis have been identified; more significant was the detection of IgA antibodies, a reactivation marker, in 10,1 % of the examined antibodies. The largest number of individuals with IgA was observed in patients after transplantation, with neuropsychiatric pathology and cognitive decline. Discussion. Since toxoplasmosis is a latent infection of the brain and its association with a number of mental and neurodegenerative diseases has been proven, the high T. gondii infection in elderly people and the presence of reactivation markers in them suggests systematic monitoring of invasion, especially when combined with CNS pathology and reduced immunity. People aged \"60+\" with a certain clinical history are at risk in the presence of a parasite in the body. Conclusion. Finding an association between toxoplasmosis and psychiatric disorders in immunocompetent individuals is the basis for further monitoring of such associations with a view to their prevention and treatment. Key words: toxoplasmosis, Toxoplasma gondii, psycho-neurological diseases, elderly people, detection of antibodies.","PeriodicalId":152020,"journal":{"name":"Medical Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116262132","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
