The focus of spoofing is on target speakers, resulting a sharp increase in false acceptance. The availability of high quality recording and playback devices (i.e. smart phones), have made spoof attacks by replay data a most common and easy approach, even without much knowledge about speech processing. In this work we analyze and demonstrate the seriousness of replay attacks, and then examine the vulnerability of classic GMMUBM based speaker verification (SV) system to replay data by experimental studies. Since no standard database is available, we develop a replay dataset of 34 speakers from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati - Multi-Variability (IITG-MV) speech database, that covers all kind of variabilities. To avoid any gender biasing, we made our studies for male and female speakers independently and finally in together. Under replay attacks, for genuine 459 male and 220 female trials, the equal error rate (EER) increases from 2.61% to 15.03% and 1.82% to 34.09%, respectively. In total, the EER increases from 2.50% to 20.76%. As obvious, the degradation in EER is mainly due to increase in false acceptance ratio (FAR). The case is worsen for female speakers. It may be due to the fine spectral structures of female speakers. As compared with the conventional modular multilevel step-up converters, the proposed converter offers an additional degree of control-freedom and higher steady-state voltage gain. The proposed converter operates in continuous conduction mode. A detailed small-signal modeling for the proposed converter based on state-space average modeling is presented. In addition, this study covers both the small-signal and steady-state analysis for the high gain modular multilevel dc-dc converter operating in continuous conduction mode. The performance of the proposed converter is compared with conventional modular multilevel dc-dc converter. To confirm this design, simulations have been carried out on a 1 kW, 48 V to 288 V converter system. The SCIG based wind energy systems have to rely upon the mechanical pitch angle control of their wind turbines to smoothen out power fluctuations. This paper, therefore, presents a hybrid (conventional PI plus fuzzy logic) controller for pitch control of SCIG based WES to smoothen power output fluctuations. PI controller is designed using pole placement technique to contribute effective damping to the system under different operating conditions. The PI controller is tuned and adapted using the fuzzy logic controller (FLC). Complete knowledge of electronic structural behavior of these materials is a challenging part for researchers. All the calculations presented here are preformed using mBJ exchange correlation potential under density functional theory (DFT) framework and embodied in WIEN2K computer code. Our investigation indicates that CuGaS2 have direct band gap of 2.071eV and there absorption spectra shows good absorptive nature over wide solar spectrum range (0–5eV) which indicates suitability of this material in optoelectronic applications mostly in solar cell. The dual damping controller parameters are optimized by a recently reported metaheuristic optimization technique known as Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO). This is a simple technique which can effectively optimise all the six parameters of the controller. The effectiveness of this proposed optimized dual controller is compared with PSO optimized dual controller and single independent GWO and PSO optimized controllers. The dynamic responses of speed deviation for all the controllers are considered for a step change in mechanical input power considering a single machine infinite bus system. The stator flux space vector is firstly estimated in the stationary reference frame and then transformed to the rotor reference frame. The suitable rotor voltage space vector is calculated using a switching table based on the errors in stator active/reactive powers. The ordinary direct power control (DPC) method uses six active voltage vectors together with two zero vectors. It suffers from variable switching frequency. The proposed method uses the space vector modulation scheme to supply the rotor with optimal voltage vectors in order to minimize the power errors. Static Var Compensator (SVC), Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) and Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) are some of the Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) devices, which, when installed in the transmission system, helps to achieve reactive power compensation and thereby increase the system loadability. Priority indices like Contingency Severity Index (CSI) as well as Fast Voltage Stability Index (FVSI) are used to identify the optimal location and control settings of these devices. Consequently by reducing the Installation Cost (IC) of FACTS devices, the social and economical reimbursement is improved and also useful in managing the overloading of transmission lines. Ali","doi":"10.1109/UPCON.2016.7894703","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/UPCON.2016.7894703","url":null,"abstract":"Image hashing is one of the emergent novel approaches used extensively in the field of image forensics apart from finding its place in many of the latest techniques of the area of image indexing, image retrieval etc. Image hashing is basically used to identify the duplicate copies of the original images. Most of the image hashing algorithms has their limitations in getting the desirable performance against a particular image processing attack i.e. rotation. In this paper, we have proposed image hashing technique dominantly based on statistical features of the image which is robust to almost all kind of image processing attacks including rotation. In our proposed algorithm input image is normalized by using resizing, Gaussian filtering, color space conversion from RGB image to YCbCr and only Y component is taken for hash generation. Radon transform is then applied to the preprocessed image to produce 2-D Radon coefficients. 1-D DCT is then applied to the Radon coefficients to produce column-wise DCT coefficients. Lastly first AC coefficient from each column are taken to form the row-wise vector which is used to extract four statistical features, Mean, Standard Deviation, Kurtosis & Skewness. The extracted features form the final feature vector which is used for image identification. The active response of the system is observed under two cases: with AC tie-line and with AC-DC tie-line. The optimal values of the 2-DOF PID controllers are achieved by taking integral time absolute error (ITAE) as objective function with the application of a disturbance of 0.01p.u. in area 1. To show the supremacy of the proposed controller the results obtained is compared with pre-published result such as DE tuned PID controller.
