The Fog computing is a paradigm where Fog devices help to increase throughput and reduce latency at the edge of the client. This paper developed a Fog Computing based framework named FogGIS for mining analytics from geospatial data. It has been built a prototype using Intel Edison, an embedded microprocessor. FogGIS has validated by doing preliminary analysis including compression and overlay analysis. Results showed that Fog Computing hold a great promise for analysis of geospatial data. The designed antenna system consists of a chamfered edge offset fed square patch antenna providing circular polarization (CP) in broadside direction and an adjacent printed dipole antenna having linearly polarized (LP) end-fire radiation. So, pattern diversity and the polarization diversity (LP/CP type) are achieved simultaneously with good isolation, without the requirement of any separate decoupling mechanism. The overall antenna footprint is 0.54 λ0 × 0.63 λ0, where λ0 is the free space wavelength at 5.66 GHz. The waveguide consists of SiC core surrounded by alternate Si and SiO2 cladding layers with a defect layer. The transmittance of waveguide is obtained using transfer matrix method. It is observed that thermal expansion coefficient and refractive index of SiC varies linearly with temperature. The Marx multilevel inverter gives several levels of dc voltages to the desirable ac voltage. Theoretically, the number of voltage levels is arbitrarily chosen in Marx multilevel inverter, without using of transformer the output voltage of the inverter can reach high level. In addition, due to the step characteristic, the output voltage can be almost sinusoidal which results decrease the size and cost of the filter. The control modulation method for the grid integration of Marx multilevel inverter has been chosen and implemented. The handling of same is a techno-economic constrained procedure considering its effect on energy and reserve scheduling of whole generation mix. This paper presents a dynamic penalty cost based methodology to solve power system resource scheduling problem with uncertain wind energy, thermal units and responsive loads using binary grey wolf optimizer (BGWO). The proposed methodology considers the effect of uncertain wind energy in terms of total rescheduling cost, total energy balancing cost and total reserve cost. The unit commitment procedure is solved using BGWO and the economic dispatch of committed thermal units alongside the wind energy, responsive load scheduling is solved using Lambda iteration technique. In addition, two different levels of wind uncertainty level are considered to examine the variation techno-economic aspects of proposed methodology. Its performance being compared with that of Genetic algorithm and Particle swarm optimization. Classical control methods are difficult to implement for greenhouse air temperature control problem because of high nonlinear and complex nature of system. Meta-heuristic based algorithms are implemented because of their easy to understand, appropriate for different types of problems, stochastic nature helps in evading local extrema and derivative dependency. This demands adopting efficient video data management techniques for ease of storage and browsing applications. This in turn requires an efficient method of annotation. Automatic cut detection is the elementary and essential step of any automatic annotation process. The efficacy of intensity based cut detection and histogram based methods decrease with variation of intensity of the scene. In this paper we propose a novel cut detection approach based on the distance measure derived from differential excitation feature. The proposed distance measure has a strong spatial correlation among neighbouring pixels which is insensitive to the light variation. It helps the system operators, to include wind generation into economic scheduling, unit commitment and reserve allocation problems. It also assists the wind power producers to minimize their losses through strategic bidding in the day ahead electricity markets. In this paper the problem of long-term wind power forecast is addressed, considering the numerical weather prediction (NWP) system wind speed and wind direction forecasts as inputs. An adaptive wavelet neural network is proposed for mapping the NWP's wind speed and wind direction forecasts to wind power forecasts. Wind direction inheritantly being a circular variable, for better training and function approximation, a transformed version of wind direction variables are used as inputs. Further, a closest set of patterns based on euclidean distance are chosen for training patterns and block wise training and forecast strategy is employed for carrying wind power forecast.
