Due to the decrease of the X-ray dose, LDCT images suffered from high noise and low qualities. We employ a deep convolutional neural network to not only denoise but also extract noise-free features from the noisy LDCT images. Next, these features are used to reconstruct the spatial relationship between CT slices, and we use 3D CNN to extract the spatial features. These features finally fed into a fully connected network to get the nodule identification result. The experimental results on the LUNA16 dataset show that, compared with the current deep learning algorithms, the proposed network model achieves a better sensitivity of 0.809, 0.913 and 0.945 at 1/8, 1 and 8 false positives per scan, respectively, and a higher CPM score of 0.894.","PeriodicalId":151102,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2019 2nd International Conference on Sensors, Signal and Image Processing","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133791728","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Taking the advantages of both MEMS and piezo devices it provides brilliant opportunities for the development of inertial grade navigation systems. By utilizing the novel excitation method the sensors working point is pushed to the area of higher frequencies which provides a great increase in the sensors bandwidth. A finite element modelling was performed to prove the concept, find optimal design and its potential sensitivity characteristics. In case of a 2 cm length needle-like sensing element it provides the sensitivity about 36 mV/g with a perfect linearity and low cross-sensitivity.","PeriodicalId":151102,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2019 2nd International Conference on Sensors, Signal and Image Processing","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126713628","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From different angles or at different altitudes, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) can monitor accident site without interrupting the traffic flow, therefore, UAV is introduced for accident scene reconstruction. Firstly, the method framework of accident scene reconstruction was proposed, in which UAV was used to take pictures of accident site, and imaging system was adopted to reconstruct the 2D and 3D accident scene. Then, 3D reconstruction, point cloud generation, and model optimization were presented. Next, a UAV flight experiment was conducted for traffic accident scene reconstruction, and two evaluation indexes, signal-to-noise ratio and structural similarity, were introduced to assess the image quality of accident scene reconstruction. The case study demonstrates that compared with current methods, the proposed method is efficient; moreover, the effect of accident scene reconstruction is satisfactory.","PeriodicalId":151102,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2019 2nd International Conference on Sensors, Signal and Image Processing","volume":"300 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116260486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is an essential task for service robot to give their services along with human. Identifying human position in an environment, such as elderly home, is the most challenging task, as it involves static and dynamic object. During its operation, a service robot must avoid collision to objects, and also prepares path for its journey. This work makes use of RGB-D camera, such as Kinect, to identify the static and dynamic object via 3D maps. To manage its path finding, the prediction of people location and position is enabled via Long Term and Short Term Memory been implemented in Real-Time Appearance Based Mapping. The loop closure detection with real time constraints wrapping the collected information that uses RGB-D SLAM method. To identify the human position and flow, a technique of pedestrian detection is added to find group of people, which will gain more understanding on how human will interact to robot. We have demonstrated the work of this initial work by generating 3D point cloud for specific environment through an intensive mapping experiments.","PeriodicalId":151102,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2019 2nd International Conference on Sensors, Signal and Image Processing","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124797870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During normal sinus rhythm, the atrial activity is well synchronized with the ventricular one. The distances between ventricular QRS complexes and the preceding atrial P waves are approximately constant. However, during atrial arrhythmias such a synchronization does not exist. Although both atrial fibrillation (AF) and atrial flutter (AFL) are also characterized by irregularity of RR intervals, nevertheless it is this lack of atrioventricular synchronization and the associated irregularity of atrial activity (AA) that is the most straightforward symptom of atrial arrhythmias. In AFL episodes, the atrial activity tends to be more regular, whereas in AF it is almost completely unpredictable. Our objective is to enhance this activity to facilitate discrimination between the two arrhythmias. Spatio-temporal filtering (STF) was developed for detection of fetal QRS complexes in an ECG signal recorded from the abdomen of a pregnant woman. The filter can easily be applied to enhance the P waves in regular ECG signals. In this paper, however, we modify the learning phase of STF, to make it useful also for enhancement of abnormal atrial activity. The STF ability to enhance the atrial flutter waves is presented. An algorithm is proposed that allows for simple but effective discrimination between the two types of atrial irregular activity: AFL and AF. Tested on a database containing the cases of both atrial arrhythmias, the algorithm allows for their almost faultless recognition.","PeriodicalId":151102,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2019 2nd International Conference on Sensors, Signal and Image Processing","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114970712","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For proper execution of CR, the process of spectrum sensing is a necessary task. An efficient spectrum sensing ensures the improvement in throughput of cognitive radio as well as ensures the protection of licensed user from possible interference of unlicensed users. This paper proposes a precaution based cooperative approach in which the unlicensed and licensed users collaboratively work together to improve the spectrum sensing performance of CR. Under this precautious cooperation, the proposed approach not only improves the utilization of highly dis-regarded underutilized spectrum, but also ensures a better protection of primary user. The proposed approach has an extra advantage of using the un-favorable conditions of channel noise as a boon to improve the licensed spectrum utilization as well as the channel capacity.","PeriodicalId":151102,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2019 2nd International Conference on Sensors, Signal and Image Processing","volume":"78 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114257235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As an alternative to random cold calls, certain systems can be built to select candidates based on their interests. Therefore each student is represented by their own profile. By linking these interests to the topic or issue being discussed, student's role is changed from being a passive recipient to a source of information that may enrich the discussion. Based on the level of relevance, students are expected to contribute and enrich the discussion by sharing their opinions, comments or experiences. This paper focuses on how technically this scenario can be realized by generating a classroom virtual grid that will map every student's predefined position, including those who are seated outside of the PTZ camera's range, to its corresponding coordinate. In general, the results obtained indicate that any valid seating position can be associated with the faces of students who occupy that seat. However, the application fails to detect any faces which are mostly blocked by the presence of other students.","PeriodicalId":151102,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2019 2nd International Conference on Sensors, Signal and Image Processing","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123354748","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
