The infecting organism or pathogen interferes with the normal functioning of the host and can lead to chronic wounds, gangrene and even death. So, providing knowledge regarding the common infectious diseases is very much essential criteria to the common peoples. The study method was proceeded to assess the knowledge, attitudes and practices of the patient regarding the infectious diseases by the self administered knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) questionnaire (base line readings) and then included the handover of pre evaluated patient information leaflet as a counselling aid to the study participants. Analysed through Paired t test. The follow up study results were found significant (*P<0.05) when compared to baseline results. The scores obtained for self prepared patient information leaflet used is as in between the 60-70. So, the patient information leaflet (PIL) is considered as ‘standard’ as per the Flesh Reading Ease Formula. Among all Flesh Reading Ease values patient information leaflet for Dengue fever has shown highest value that is 67.40 and lowest value is obtained for the patient information leaflet of Malaria that is 60.05. Our study concluded that the prepared information leaf let for few infectious diseases prevalence and incidence of anticoagulant induced internal bleeding was high. So, risk management plays important role for the better outcome of the therapy.","PeriodicalId":151037,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Applied Pharmaceutical Science (JIAPS)","volume":"269 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121215236","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Initially the core tablets were prepared by using various concentrations of super disintegrates, the formulated core tablets were coated with the polymers by using compression coating technology. All the core and compress coated tablet formulations were subjected to various physical and chemical evaluation tests for core and compress coated tablets. The thickness, hardness and weight variation shown by all the tablet formulations were found within the official pharmacopoeial limits.  In vitro release of Zileuton of core tablet formulations ZF5 showed faster drug release after 15 min. Faster drug release can be correlated with the high disintegration and friability observed in this study.","PeriodicalId":151037,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Applied Pharmaceutical Science (JIAPS)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130267741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The model drug is a drug which is used in the treatment of antiulcer. Extended-release tablets of model drug provide constant plasma concentration with a less frequent administration and also reduce the side effects to some extent. This could extend its safe administration and improve patient compliance. The present study aims to develop floating tablets of model drug using HPMC K4M, Carbopol 934 and an effervescent agent which can float on gastrointestinal fluid for sustained release and evaluate the model drug tablets in-vitro for their TFT, FLT, and drug release pattern. Gastro retentive drug delivery system (GRDDS) refers to systems in which the drug retained in the stomach for a prolonged period that improves the bioavailability of drug substances. Any delivery system aims to deliver a therapeutic amount of drug to the specific site in the body to obtain rapid and then maintain a requisite amount of drug. The formulated tablets evaluated for both pre-compression and post compression parameters including weight variation, hardness, friability, in vitro drug release and different pharmacokinetic plots. Final formulation was agreeable when assessed for all assessment parameters.","PeriodicalId":151037,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Applied Pharmaceutical Science (JIAPS)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128056174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Over the past few decades, mucosal drug delivery has received a great deal of attention. Mucoadhesive dosage forms may be designed to enable prolonged retention at the site of application, providing a controlled rate of drug release for improved therapeutic activity. The mucoadhesive ability of a dosage form is dependent upon a variety of factors, including the nature of the mucosal tissue and the physicochemical properties of the polymeric formulation. This review covers the areas of mechanisms and theories of mucoadhesion, factors influencing the mucoadhesive materials, mucoadhesive polymers, and also various mucoadhesive dosage forms.","PeriodicalId":151037,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Applied Pharmaceutical Science (JIAPS)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131811525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most common cause of dementia is Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Accounting for nearly 60 to 80 % of all cases. AD is the six leading cause of death with an estimated prevalence of nearly 30 million people worldwide. Age is the most important risk factor for AD, with an exponential increase in prevalence from 3 to 32 % from the ages 65 to 85 years old. An estimated 5.6 million individuals over the age of 65 suffer from AD in the United States, a number projected to nearly triple to 13.8 million by 2050 due to increase in population. The 2000s ushered in a focus on the study of prodromal stages of neurodegerative disease before the full – blown dementia syndrome. The current decades have been the rise of imaging and other biomarkers to characterize preclinical disease before the development of significant cognitive decline. Finally, we suggest future directions and predictions for dementia related research and potential therapeutic interventions.","PeriodicalId":151037,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Applied Pharmaceutical Science (JIAPS)","volume":"205 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131919774","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This leads to an increased concentration of glucose in the blood (hyperglycemia) Diabetes mellitus (DM) also known as simply diabetes, is a group of metabolic diseases in which there are high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period This high blood sugar produces the symptoms of frequent urination, increased thirst, and increased hunger. Untreated, diabetes can cause many complications. Acute complications include diabetic ketoacidosis and non-kenotic hyperosmolar coma. Serious long-term complications include heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, foot ulcers and damage to the eyes. Diabetes is due to either the pancreas not producing enough insulin, or the cells of the body not responding properly to the insulin produced Type 1 diabetes is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by insulin deficiency and resultant hyperglycemia. Knowledge of type 1 diabetes has rapidly increased resulting in a broad understanding about many aspects of the disease, including its genetics, epidemiology, immune and β-cell phenotypes, and diseased burden. Interventions to preserve β cells have been tested, type 1 diabetes and our ability to standardize clinical care and decrease disease-associated complications and burden. The presence of additional chronic conditions has a significant impact on the treatment and management of type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Little is known about the patterns of comorbidities in this population. The aims of this study are to quantify comorbidity.","PeriodicalId":151037,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Applied Pharmaceutical Science (JIAPS)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129831880","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An increase in the drug/polymer ratio (1:3 to 1:1) is in increasing order due to the increase in the concentration of polymer. However, after a particular concentration, it was observed that as the ratio of Drug to polymer was increased, the particle size decreased. The particle size was found in the range of 250- 450 nm. The entrapment efficiency of different formulations was found in the range of 90.56 to 98.32%, by comparing the above dissolution studies of formulations F1-F9. Maximum drug release was found in the F5 formulation containing Drug: β-cyclodextrin in a 1:3 ratio. So F5 formulation was taken as the optimized formulation, and drug release kinetics were performed and which follows zero-order kinetics with super case II transport mechanism.","PeriodicalId":151037,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Applied Pharmaceutical Science (JIAPS)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125437504","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
