The phase noise at 1 MHz offset is -117 dBc/Hz at the carrier frequency of 1.56 GHz. The circuit-level simulation results indicate that ion strikes on critical transistors cause distortions in the oscillating output. An improved unit cell of composite right/left handed transmission line is proposed. The electrical equivalent circuit of the unit is discussed. In addition, the cell has a better selectivity and out-of-band rejection, which is very distinguished from the conventional CRLH TL cell. And the parameters of the cell are discussed specifically. After properly designed the parameters, a compact narrow bandpass filter is generated. The wide dynamic range results from the utilization of a parallel feedback structure that divides the input current when it is large. And the high GBW owes to the limiting amplifier (LA) which functions as a gain stage based on a modified Cherry-Hopper amplifier. The proposed DPA is able to control the input power dividing ratio according to the input power, which results in the outputting ability of the peaking amplifier is increased dramatically. In this paper, we present the design and testing of a compact wideband 90° phase shifter with small phase error using CRLH transmission line. The wideband phase shifter is obtained by subtracting of two phase shift parts. The properties of the CRLH transmission line are analyzed and the empirical formula is given to determine the phase shift of the transmission line against with the length of the interdigital capacitance. According to the formula, a 90° phase shifter with a phase error of ±3° has been achieved. The implemented phase shifter works from 4.225GHz to 5.709GHz with a small size of less than 35mm×50mm in total. This paper theoretically and experimentally confirms that desired group delay responses could be achieved by tuning the lengths of cascaded C-sections in the microstrip structure. The optimized structure is simulated by the electromagnetic simulation software CST Microwave Studio, and a satisfied chirped group-delay is achieved ranging from 0.2 GHz to 3.85 GHz. The experimental prototype is a coplanar design integrated on a microstrip substrate with a shielded aluminum lid above it. LCL network together with microstrip circuits are used to directly match the impedance of the 6mm GaN HEMTs to 50Ohm without using power combiner. Under the pulsed condition (100μs, 10%), the developed GaN HEMTs power amplifier delivers a 22W saturated output power with 7.6dB linear gain and 26.8% maximum power-added efficiency (PAE) with a drain voltage of 32V and at the frequency of 13.7GHz. A new method to design equalizer is proposed, by changing the electrical length of main transmission line in a certain range, the return loss is improved obviously while transmission parameter changes slightly. Comparing to use the traditional method of optimizing by simulation software, this method greatly reduces the simulation time, improves the design efficiency and precision. And through using thin film resistor instead of chip resistor, the parasitic effect can be well reduced, the measured curve has no frequency offset comparing with the simulated curve. Differential phase shift (DPS), insertion loss, high power characteristics and impedance matching are determined and optimized using finite element solver in Ansoft HFSS.
