This paper gives a comprehensive account of Critical Conduction Mode (CrM) in the Power Factor Corrector. The Critical Conduction Mode technique is newer than Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM). The analysis shows the principle which are based on structural schema and mathematical description of the waveforms. We showed by the mathematical description that the frequency of the waveform depends on two factors. The first factor depends on input voltage and power. The second one determines the frequency of the mains half period.","PeriodicalId":149779,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Applied Electronics","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134090916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This special system structure respects the energy conservation law and can be interpreted as a system of state coupled oscillators. In this paper there is a nonlinear phase coupling introduced. The system of coupled oscillators can be generalized for n oscillators with different amplitudes and optional phase shift. Obtained results are used for mathematical modelling of fish fictive swimming.","PeriodicalId":149779,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Applied Electronics","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122712506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sensors are typically intended for another purpose e.g. wheel speed measurement or tractive effort determination. When the slip control is based on indirect methods that needed to measure some specific locomotive behavior that occurs during high slip velocity it is difficult to use the locomotive measurement sensors. The paper presents an additional experimental measurement device that is mounted on locomotive wheelset to measure the wheelset dynamic motions that typically occur when the wheel has large value of slip velocity. The measurement device is equipped with accelerometers. Measured data are filtered to get signal that can be used for locomotive wheel slip velocity detection and control.","PeriodicalId":149779,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Applied Electronics","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127884607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Selecting the best antenna may be very important, but selecting the right antenna can be a difficult task, because of variation in the way manufacturers specify and describe them. This paper introduces a method to measure an antenna gain and antenna factor of small loop antennas. It is well known, that the antenna measurement in an anechoic chamber requests the calibrated reference antenna. Unfortunately, the space, cost, and time requirements for that chamber installation are quiet high. In this paper, GTEM cell has been proposed for this measurement as a more effective alternative, where the additional reference antenna isn't necessary. The principle of this method is described and the validity is asserted through measurements comparison of obtained results between GTEM cell and anechoic chamber.","PeriodicalId":149779,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Applied Electronics","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129349138","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In neurological practice, however, this method of evaluating the relative angular movements of the head and shoulders is not a common practice. The objective of this study was to develop a method of precise measurement of relative angular movements of the head and shoulders, in other words, measuring the relative position of the head and shoulders in a 3-D space with the accuracy up to 1°. The camera system of our design provides direct information for physicians about the relative position of the patient's head and shoulders, is described by the angles. The inclination and rotation of the head and shoulders were measured with the accuracy to 1°. Then, a 2-D plot of the relative rotation of the head and shoulders versus the relative inclination of the head and shoulders was obtained. The total length and mean velocity of the trajectory, in the plot, were used to measure and analyze head and shoulder movements. The plots helped in modeling the distribution of the measured 2-D data and evaluate stability and posture of the patient's body. The new method offers quantitative assessment of head and shoulder postures. Consequently, they can also be used for specific rehabilitation tests and applications.","PeriodicalId":149779,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Applied Electronics","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124399470","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For already designed systems it became necessary to perform different modifications in order to find optimal software architecture configuration by respecting all timing constraints which are essential when speaking of real-time systems. In this work, we present a model-based approach of optimizing the execution sequence of runnables within tasks in order to reduce the system's reaction times by improving the overall signal flow duration. Hereby, a genetic optimization algorithm is used to create and evaluate multiple solutions for the runnable sequencing problem. We conclude by demonstration the efficiency of the presented approach with experimental results.","PeriodicalId":149779,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Applied Electronics","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122073979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first part shows a derivation of the effect on one pulse of the voltage and then the values of the current harmonics are derived. The main section discusses a description of voltage with the pulse width modulation with respect to the dead time. A voltage waveform at the input terminals of the inverter, its harmonic analysis, and calculations of the current harmonics values are derived. The last part shows simulations and comparison of the harmonic analysis of the current with and without dead times.","PeriodicalId":149779,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Applied Electronics","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114095585","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
