The influence of inserting both a rectangular slit in the ground plane and a parasitic element close to the circular conducting patch of the structure is investigated in order to improve the antenna impedance matching, for UWB applications. Ansoft HFSS® software is the simulation tool used to obtain numerical results for the return loss frequency behavior of the considered antenna. First, for a conventional 6-pole IPM rotor, stators with 18, 27 and 36 slots satisfied with same required and restricted conditions are designed. And then, performances and parameters of each IPM motor such as cogging torque, torque ripple, d- and q- axis inductance, total harmonic distortion (THD) of back-emf, etc. are investigated using 2-d finite element analyses (FEA). Finally, test results such as d- and q- axis inductance, back-emf and efficiency measurements are given to confirm analysis results. The model is based on the wave concept. Mathematical expressions are formulated in the frequency domain. An inverse Fourier modal transform is applied to obtain the 3-D behaviors of the waves on the surface of the layer. A combination of Green's function technique and Spatial Harmonic Analysis method is used. The electromagnetic behavior of the dipole sources in the vicinity of the metamaterial surface is studied. In case of LIM, the value of parameters is different according to its secondary structure, the application of electro-magnetic field theory is not avoidable.
