The author raises it in two facets and for two worlds, the wide world of life and the narrow world of education and science, including the very narrow geographical one. As it is shown, a true novelty remains rare, and the pursuit of it is both a blessing and a scourge of the today’s world. Innovations are in demand, they are talked about a lot, but they are often imitated and replaced with fakes. They are studied by geographers in a positive context, but they are not in a negative one, as far as I can see. To me. cyclic processes lack novelty in the full sense of the word. Two examples of shifts open to the future, with an unclear outcome, are given in the article, one from the field of economics (changes in its structural types) and the other, from demography (changes in the types of reproduction and ageing). Both have their specific spatial factors and manifestations. True novelty is more valuable in science than in business practice. For Russia’s science and education, with their serious problems, this is a key factor of survival and success.","PeriodicalId":148240,"journal":{"name":"Regional nye issledovaniya","volume":"110 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121702639","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system of indicators proposed by the OECD as a plan for the development of green cities includes more than 100 main and about 50 additional indices that assess the environmental component of the urban environment. The authors propose a set of 23 aggregated indicators that consider the main sources of harmful effects on the environment, air and sea conditions, and the living standards, as well as the reaction of the population and the municipal administration to ongoing changes. The use of remote sensing data made it possible to determine the indices characterizing the degree of the territory development and to obtain a spatial pattern of land use changes in the urban district. Based on the dynamics of aggregated indicators for the period from 2011 to 2018 integral indicators are calculated to assess the current state of the urban environment, identify its most problematic components and outline ways for a rational arrangement. The authors note the need to consider the negative consequences of land use change and irrational resource use under the formation of the Vladivostok agglomeration, as well as to develop a strategy to improve the living standards of the population while keeping the environment safe.","PeriodicalId":148240,"journal":{"name":"Regional nye issledovaniya","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122275403","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The author analyzes the concept of food security, which includes not only the ratio of production, consumption, export and import of food, but also the physical and economic availability of food for population, as well as the sustainability of agriculture and the food industry. The degree of modern involvement of Russian crop and livestock production in the international division of labor leads to the consequences of sanctions imposed in the spring of 2022. The specifics of the institutional and spatial organization of agriculture in Russia, the processes of its concentration are shown, as well as the role of agricultural holdings in the new sanctions conditions. The specifics of small enterprises and households of population, general and regional prerequisites and limitations of their functioning are considered separately. The article analyzes the directions in which the agro-industrial complex can develop, including the search for ways of its transformation with the support of the state.","PeriodicalId":148240,"journal":{"name":"Regional nye issledovaniya","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134215191","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Drawing from system and criterion approach we realized theoretical analyses of the conceptual space mentioned. The analyses mentioned showed preconditions of the considering theoretical space and illustrated the main features of its development within Russian and English academic discourses. Within each of the mentioned discourses we identified some dominating types of academic papers and a number of the most widespread topics. Basing on the analysis mentioned, we described two key investigation strategies “Eastern” and “Western” ones, which differ in general investigation logic that they are based on. The theoretical analysis showed that the question of tourism sector functioning within the pandemic (on the business process level) has not been deeply investigated yet. The key reason for it is the early stage of theorizing on the topic mentioned. At this stage investigations are often not systematic and are not coherent enough. To overcome theselimitation we suggested a model of empirical analysis of tourism sector within pandemic. In the future this model will form theoretical and methodological basis for creating effective tourism sector supporting systems for the cases of global epidemic crisis.","PeriodicalId":148240,"journal":{"name":"Regional nye issledovaniya","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116080322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is measured by the indicator K by dividing the border perimeter (km) by the number of transport crossings (entrances) of the border. There are 10 groups of countries of the world according to the size of their territory. According to the peculiarities of the transport and geographical position in relation to the seas and land, all countries are divided into 13 types. The values of the total transport permeability index vary from 6.4 km (Switzerland) to 3391.3 km (Greenland). Its geographic differences in parts of the world are revealed: the countries of Europe on average have K = 52.6 km, the countries of Asia –\u0000\u0000145.2 km, Africa – 177.8 km, America – 206.5 km, Australia and Oceania – 271.0 km. 6 subgroups of countries have been identified according to variations in K values: 1) fully open (the most permeable); 2) relatively open (permeable); 3) semi-open (relatively permeable); 4) semi-closed (medium permeable); 5) relatively closed (little permeable); 6) the most closed (almost impermeable). The values of transport permeability of the borders of 18 provinces of China, 20 states of the USA, 36 regions of Russia, 10 lands of Germany, 2 regions of Canada were calculated. The types of correlation between land and sea transport permeability of the borders are revealed.","PeriodicalId":148240,"journal":{"name":"Regional nye issledovaniya","volume":"153 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123603503","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Russia is characterized by a significant regional differentiation of LE and the rate of its decline in 2020 There is a pattern: the higher the life expectancy in the regions in 2019, the more significant its decrease in 2020. The main contribution (more than 50%) to the reduction of LE of men and women in 2020 was the increase in mortality at the age of 65 years and older and almost a third less at the age of 45-64 years. Not all regions mortality from COVID-19 in was the main cause for the decrease in LE for men and women in 2020. In 28 regions for men and 23 for women, diseases of mortality of the circulatory system made a significant contribution to the overall decrease in LE, and this contribution was greater than the contribution of COVID-19. The increase of mortality from respiratory diseases in most regions has reduced LE. In a some regions, changes LE. However, caution is necessary when interpreting the results, since the process of identifying the main cause of death is not always uniform and may vary not only by country, but also in regions within the country.","PeriodicalId":148240,"journal":{"name":"Regional nye issledovaniya","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129640503","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The area of study is inter capital space between Moscow and Minsk. Three surfaces were analysed for three census years – 1897, 1989 and 2010. A method for zoning of demographic potential surface has been developed. It is based on the decomposition of the surface into separate terms. Terms are the induced potentials of settlements. It is possible to identify groups of points with a similar structure of induced potentials with the help of hierarchical cluster analysis. Such clusters will be the regions of demographic potential surface. Five types of regions were defined – spheres of dominance, zones of influence, areas of gravity, residual regions and hinterlands. There are about 20 regions on the surface of demographic potential of the inter capital region of Russia and Belarus. Its territorial structure consists of 3 large parts. The hinterlands of Moscow and Minsk are areas of the potential surface, where these cities have the largest share in the structure of the induced potential of clusters. “Real” inter capital space are areas of the potential surface, where the largest share in the structure of the induced potential of clusters belongs to any other cities, except capitals. The main processes of the evolution of demographic potential are following: expansion of the hinterlands of Moscow and Minsk, complication of the Minsk’s hinterland structure, disappearance of Roslavl’s hinterland, growth of the Gomel’s hinterland, reduction of the Bobruisk’s hinterland, formation of the residual area centered in the Polotsk agglomeration, disappearance of the residual area in the Mogilev and Bryansk regions.","PeriodicalId":148240,"journal":{"name":"Regional nye issledovaniya","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124377855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
