Thus technology transfer (inter-/intra-organizational) and supporting infrastructure is once again gaining importance. Web-based socio-technical portals offer great potential for supporting technology transfer by bringing together technology demand and offer. However, they must be designed carefully in order to meet future users' needs. Based on literature research and empirical interviews, a requirements model for technology transfer portals is developed, taking into account the characteristics of the transfer partners as well as the technologies to be transferred. This will enable the design of such portals to be done in a more systematic way and pave the way for successful operation.","PeriodicalId":148200,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"187 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121623993","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our case study identifies improvising behaviors that avert various constraints in order to achieve innovation. The entrepreneur creates novel solutions by constructing a diverse range of available resources at hand. Specifically, the findings explain three types of resource construction: resource transformation, resource leveraging and resource exchange. Theoretically, this study speaks to innovation and entrepreneurship literature, offering insights into how social construction of resources may provide new forms of bricolage. Practically, this paper examines how adversities could be turned into opportunities by means of reframing seemingly worthless resources.","PeriodicalId":148200,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124918114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It's an open innovation model based on the principles of online multiplayer games development for organizations in Business to Client (B2C) context, as an alternative to promote Dynamic Online Co-creation and Innovation. Online multiplayer games have the propriety to evoke dimensions that combine knowledge creation, sense-making, loyalty, sense of community, interaction and emotion, which are essential for continuous and dynamic process of co-creation. This model opens the possibility that from the moment the player's community in a virtual environment, linked to the organization, becomes a strategic asset for co-creation and innovation, the games industry can serve as a new paradigm for organizational design, going beyond purely entertainment.","PeriodicalId":148200,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116118467","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is therefore imperative to have appropriate mechanisms/tools to mitigate the effects of disruptions. We developed the concept for a disruption recovery-modelling approach that provides more accurate supply forecasts during supply chain disruptions (i.e. smaller variance), which are of prime importance to supply chain risk management. Specifically, we show that a combination of model forecasts performs no worse than the individual component models applied in this paper. In addition, the projections of the models updated through a Bayesian framework generate supply forecasts with smaller variances.","PeriodicalId":148200,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124415030","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper suggests that patenting strategies can be formulated using databases from other sources and correlate that back to the patent analysis. This leverages on the phenomenon found in technology life cycle. In this paper, we tracked the publications in major journals of surface acoustic wave (SAW) filters and identify their main areas of research. We then map the corresponding time slices in the patent application domain to derive a linkage between them. We found that journal publications are around 5 years ahead of the patent applications in the field of research of SAW filters. This provides a good clue to patenting strategies to build up their patent portfolios for technologies with similar technology life cycle trends.","PeriodicalId":148200,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115475351","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
