This study conducts cross national analysis of adoption and substitution of innovation. We pick up narrowband internet and broadband internet subscription across 58 countries as target innovations. First, we analyze adoption and substitution of innovation between successive generations across countries by developing a new diffusion model with technological substitution. Second, we elucidate the impacts of national characteristics on adoption and substitution of innovation. The impacts of national characteristics on adoption and substitution of innovation are clarified. Further, we empirically analyze the supply side of this ecosystem to ascertain the influence of systematic (macro) and non-systematic (micro) factors on VC fundraising. At the macro level, our results indicate that relatively strong fundamentals of the Indian economy in the past decade as compared with the severe recessionary tendencies in the developed economies have been critical in determining the aggregate volume of VC fundraising. Among the micro factors, past performance and reputation of the individual fund managers have been instrumental in determining their fund raising potential.","PeriodicalId":148200,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125972847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A leading R&D-oriented company is analyzed as an example, and the results are used to elucidate the role of top management in enabling simultaneous performance management and social support as well as the behavioral patterns of the employees working under them.","PeriodicalId":148200,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114359522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
