The simulation of this type of protocols shows that the lifetime of networks is very important compared to the flat protocols, that's why they are the subject of our research to improve and proposed more efficient protocols in energy and life time of networks. The best-known clustering protocol in wireless sensor networks is the LEACH protocol (Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy), which is the basic of research in the clustering technique. For this purpose, we will focus on the energy performance of this protocol and compare their simulation results with other protocols hierarchical namely the PEGASIS (Power-Efficient Gathering in Sensor Information System) and compared all results with our proposed method based on hierarchical protocols namely LEACH and PEGASIS protocols.","PeriodicalId":144334,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Fourth International Conference on Engineering & MIS 2018","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116901257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Instead of treating people simply as consumers, marketers treat them as whole human beings with spirits, hearts and minds, as well as market experts, at least for the product itself. This has developed a variety of Recommendation systems that many companies benefit from it. Achieving better accuracies applying algorithms used for identifying intrusions and anomalies has several hidden data mining challenges. Although neglected by many research findings, one of the most important and biggest challenges is the similarity computation. Another challenge that cannot be simply neglected is the number of features that attributes to dimensionality. This research aims to come up with a new membership function to carry similarity computation that can be helpful for addressing feature dimensionality issues. In principle, this work is limited at introducing a novel membership function that can help to achieve better classification accuracies and eventually lead to better intrusion and anomaly detection.","PeriodicalId":144334,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Fourth International Conference on Engineering & MIS 2018","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116589370","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These problems are partially caused by an incorrect way of sitting. Sitting a bunch of hours in combination with a false body posture can cause long-term diseases. In order to prevent a not optimal sitting behavior, a cyber-physical systems (CPS) could help to recognize these postures and inform the user. A CPS is understood as a combination of electronical and mechanical devices like microcontrollers, sensors or actuators and embedded software to collect and analyze real-world data. With help of these embedded systems, a sensor-equipped SmartChair could help to recognize and analyze the user's body posture and give recommendations to improve the position on a chair. Therefore, in this paper we propose a SmartChair based on cyber-physical systems. The SmartChair itself is a modular and flexible seat pad which can be placed on almost every chair. This pad contains eight force resistive sensors to measure the users sitting position. These sensors are wired to a microcontroller for measuring this data and transferring it via Bluetooth to a mobile application running on a smartphone. The matching Android App on this Smartphone receives this data and interpolates the user's current sitting position. With this calculated data, the system is able to give specific advises to correct or optimize the users' body posture to prevent backbone diseases.","PeriodicalId":144334,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Fourth International Conference on Engineering & MIS 2018","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117333522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Impedance Spectroscopy is the most used tool to characterize cells; it can be used to investigate electrical cells proprieties, to differentiate between different kinds of cells, and to quantify cells. The goal of this work is the conception of an Impedance Spectroscopy Analyzer for cell characterization. The yeast cells were used to validate the reliability and the accuracy of this analyzer. In our instrument, a small alternating current with a variable frequency is injected into the explored biological system by using two electrodes. Then, the same electrodes are used to acquire a potential difference which is used to characterize the biological tissue. The analyzer can be used to investigate the electrical properties of cell suspensions such as the blood and the cytoplasm. The designed device is automated by LabVIEW interface through a GPIB.","PeriodicalId":144334,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Fourth International Conference on Engineering & MIS 2018","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128797766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, forward-and-backward blind source separation (BSS) structures have been suggested to solve acoustic noise reduction and speech enhancement problems. Therefore, we propose a new algorithm that is based on the combination between the dual backward (BSS) structure and the Simplified Fast Transversal Filter (SFTF) algorithm. The obtained results which are expressed in terms of several objective criteria prove and confirm the superiority and the good performances of the proposed dual backward blind SFTF (DBSFTF) in comparison with the classical dual backward normalized least mean square (DBNLMS) algorithm.","PeriodicalId":144334,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Fourth International Conference on Engineering & MIS 2018","volume":"119 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117105787","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The problem is defined as follows: Let k ϵ ≥1, b ≥ 2 and a hypergraph H = (V,E) with maximum vertex degree Δ and maximum edge size l, a PARTIAL SET b-MULTICOVER in H is a set of edges C ⊆ E such that every vertex in a subset U ⊆ V with |U |≥ k, belongs to at least b edges in C. PARTIAL SET b-MULTICOVER problem is the problem of finding a PARTIAL SET b-MULTICOVER of minimum cardinality. We present a randomized algorithm of hybrid type for this problem, combining LP-based randomized rounding with greedy repairing. We achieve an approximation ratio of α(n,k)n/k(Δ-b+1) with α(n,k) < 2 a factor depends on n and k for hypergraphs with lϵO(n1/5). Furthermore we consider the SET b-MULTICOVER problem in hypergraphs i.e., the PARTIAL SET b-MULTICOVER problem for k = n. It remained an open problem whether an approximation ratio of α(Δ -- b+1) with a constant α > 1 can be proved unless P = NP. This was conjectured by Peleg, Schechtman and Wool (Algorithmica 1997). We present a randomized algorithm for SET b-MULTICOVER, and achieve an approximation ratio of (1 - 1/2√2√n) (Δ -- b+1) for hypergraphs with maximum edge size lϵO(n1/2). The results for both problems presented in this paper improve for large set of instances over the known results.","PeriodicalId":144334,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Fourth International Conference on Engineering & MIS 2018","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126822678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Pitch is relatively less affected by channel variations and noisy environment. With the increasing number of individual speakers, the pitch values as whole decreases its distinction. In order to identify the speaker, the modified energy based approach has been used to segment the continuous speech into syllable-like units automatically. Those syllable segments are being used to estimate the temporal pitch variation such as rise, fall, slope, peak and rate of pitch change; specific to a particular speaker and less affected by noisy environment. Experimental results on SITW corpus show that the recognition rate of proposed method using the parameters calculated on syllabic pitch contour improves the accuracy by 15% as compared to average pitch and full pitch contour parameters. Overall accuracy increase 30% when MFCC--syllabic Pitch features combined.","PeriodicalId":144334,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Fourth International Conference on Engineering & MIS 2018","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122280919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
