Generally, a vernier caliper is used as the subject to capture the analyzing image. However, the vernier caliper has many similar regions which all effect the measure accuracy. The traditional template matching with only one template is not suitable, as the matching region may only stands for one local region. To reduce this effect, the multi-template matching is employed to get different matching regions with different templates. Then the interval which the matching result belongs to is weighted, and the final measure accuracy is obtained based on the weighted average approach. Compared with the true value, the final result is just sub-pixel error which shows that the interval weighted multi-template matching method is efficient for accurate measurement and it's simple to implement.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131299899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we employ two non-rigid registration methods to match MR images of cerebral ischemia in different periods, including a non-rigid registration algorithm based on free-form deformation (FFD) model and a DEMONS registration algorithm which is used to be compared with the FFD method. The results of our experiments suggest that non-rigid registration works well on realistic data of brain lesions with small deformation (k=0.5∼0.8) and the cross correlation coefficients (CC) increases from 0.406 before registration to 0.683 after FFD registration and 0.728 after DEMONS registration.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125568020","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By collecting several solutions with different sets of weights we are able to make a thorough comparison of different design strategies. We present possible designs that are realizable with (1) cascading classical IIR low-pass filters with appropriate operators, and (2) non-cascaded general IIR differentiator designs. Elliptical filters are found to be the most magnitude-optimal among the first type. However, the non-cascaded approach found more optimal IIR differentiators at the expense of a more complicated search. Finally, we present some non-cascaded general designs that compare favorably with the available designs given in literature, and which we reason are nearly optimal.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126380356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, it corrects skew and shear distortion with LP boundary and character arrangement rule to get frontal-parallel view of LP regions. Secondly, it projects horizontal gradient of LP along horizontal direction, and uses a set of variable-length single square wave templates to match the horizontal projection of LP's horizontal gradient, thus, to get the top and bottom boundaries of all LP characters. Then, according to the ratio between character with and character space, it designs another set of variable-length templates with seven square waves to match the vertical projections of LP's vertical gradient, and solves the left and right boundary of all LP characters simultaneously. This method can deal with non-uniform illumination, scale change, perspective distortion, image deterioration, background interference and so on, and it can achieve accurate boundaries of LP characters effectively.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123095243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By containing an integration of a large number of historical data and real-time data, the abnormal search method of online monitoring parameters can search out some special data or data segments that are significant and different from other data in the time subsequence of the monitoring parameters. In the abnormal parameter search process, it needs a segmentation of the time sequence based on some important points and the extraction of eigenvalues with the sub-patterns of the time subsequence. Then it is necessary to map the time subsequence to a high-dimensional feature space and grub the anomaly information from the perspective of model so as to obtain the set of anomaly parameters. It is of great significance to search out the obviously inconsistent data or behaviors from the other general patterns in the time series of online monitoring parameters for the early failure warning of the large and complex equipment.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125714796","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we investigate the performance of opportunistic scheduling in an OFDMA-based cognitive radio (CR) systems by taking into the CR user's raw sensing information (RSI). We shall rely on the joint design framework to optimize a system utility, which adapts the packet delay and the throughput across the secondary users (under an average interference and total available power constraint) to guarantee Quality of Service (QoS) of the whole system. By maximizing the delay and throughput-based utility function, we can get the optimal subcarrier selection policy, power and modulation allocation for each SU's packet. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126051123","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The relationship between equivalent synthesis filter and analysis filter is also presented. Finally the structure for the synthesis filter is discussed. A natural way to analysis facial expression is derived from the study on human emotion which is regarded as the intrinsic origin of facial expression. Another issue for facial expression analysis is to extract substaintial facial features that correspond with visual perception system. Based on these observations, we present a sparse representation based space model for facial expression analysis which applies Gabor filters to extract facial features. The sparse representation based facial expression space model is induced from human emotion space and then can describe mixture facial expressions which are usual in daily life.
