The Hikayat Puyu-puyu show is a social critique of the event of land clearing for a paper mill on Padang Island which is opposed by the community because it can damage the beauty of Padang Island, Teluk Bintan, Merbau District, Meranti Regency, Riau Islands. This social criticism was poured by Muhammad Kafrawi through the adaptation of the allegory poem Ikan Terubuk which implies the meaning of great power which is always able to overthrow small power. Using the theory of Intertextuality, the study analyzes the relationship between the text of the Hikayat Puyu-puyu performance and the text of the poem as an old literary work, whose content and meaning are used to reflect the phenomena of this era. Research shows that the Hikayat Puyu-Puyu performance is packaged as a blend of modern theater and traditional Riau Makyong theater. This show was born as a form of presentation of the relationship between old literature and issues of contemporary life, which gave birth to a new text that has the same implicit elements.Keywords: Modern theater, Hikayat Puyu-Putu; Terubuk Fish verse, Makyong; intertextualityAbstrakTulisan ini membahas tentang pertunjukan teater Hikayat Puyu-Puyu, salah satu karya dari budayawan dan penggiat Teater Riau, yakni Muhammad Kafrawi yang lebih dikenal sebagai Hang Kafrawi. Pertunjukan Hikayat Puyu-puyu merupakan kritik sosial terhadap peristiwa pembukaan lahan pabrik kertas di Pulau Padang yang ditentang oleh masyarakat karena dapat merusak keasrian Pulau Padang Teluk Bintan Kecamatan Merbau Kabupaten Meranti Kepulauan Riau.Kritik sosial tersebut dituangkan oleh Muhammad Kafrawi melalui adaptasi syair alegori Ikan Terubuk yang menyiratkan makna mengenai  kekuatan besar yang selalu mampu merobohkan kekuatan kecil. Menggunakan teori Intertektualitas, penelitian menganalisis hubungan antara teks pertunjukan Hikayat Puyu-puyu dengan teks syair sebagai karya sastra lama, yang kekuatan isi serta maknanya digunakan untuk merefleksikan fenomena masa ini. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertunjukan Hikayat Puyu-Puyu  dikemas sebagai perpaduan teater modern dan teater tradisional Riau Makyong. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method, with analytical techniques that describe the situation as happened in the field regarding Turuk Uliat Bilou. who are still alive and still functioning in the midst of their supporting community. Research shows that Turuk Uliat Bilou functions to summon supernatural powers, and to invite good and bad spirits to be present at the place of worship. In addition, Turuk Uliat Bilou is a ritual dance that describes the activities of community life in groups and in cooperation such as farming, farming and hunting.Keywords: turuk uliat bilou, dance; ritual, function, form of performanceAbstrakTulisan ini membahas tentang Turuk Uliat Bilou sebuah tarian titual Masyarakat Rogdog Pulau Siberut Kabupaten Kepulauan Mentawai. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif, dengan teknik analisis yang memaparkan tentang keadaan yang sebagaimana yang terjadi di lapangan mengenai Turuk Uliat Bilou Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menemukan tentang Turuk’uliat Bilou merupakan tarian ritual masyarakat Rogdog Pulau Siberut Kabupaten Kepulauan Mentawai yang masih hidup dan masih berfungsi di tengah-tengah masyarakat pendukungnya. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Turuk Uliat Bilou berfungsi untuk memanggil kekuatan gaib, dan pejemputan roh-roh baik dan buruk supaya hadir di tempat pelaksanaan  pemujaan. Plak Pleng  in the form of square prisms have ornaments consisting of geometric motifs and lotus flowers which are very unique and interesting to be developed and used as a source for creating interior works on elements of the living room. The creation of this work uses the theory of form, function, and aesthetics. The process of creating this work goes through three stages, namely exploration, design, and embodiment. Exploration of work about the source of the idea of creation, namely about Plak Pleng ornaments and elements of the living room. Drafting of sketches and designs. The embodiment stage is to turn the design into a work. The main material used is Surian wood with a melamine finish. The techniques used are construction techniques, carving, lathe, filigree and coloring with air brush and spray gun techniques. The number of works is seven pieces, namely a table, a single seat sofa, a single seat sofa without a backrest, a three seater sofa, a flower vase, a wall lamp, and a wall clock.Keywords: Plak Pleng; interiors; living room; ornament; Lamuri KingdomAbstrakPlak pleng merupakan salah satu jenis batu nisan yang terdapat di situs Kerajaan Lamuri berada di Desa Lamreh Kecamatan Mesjid Raya, Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Plak pleng berbentuk prisma persegi memiliki ornamen terdiri dari motif geometris dan bunga teratai yang sangat unik dan menarik untuk dikembangkan dan dijadikan sumber penciptaan karya interior pada elemen ruang tamu. Penciptaan karya ini menggunakan teori bentuk, fungsi, dan estetika. Proses penciptaan karya ini melalui tiga tahapan yaitu eksplorasi, perancangan, dan perwujudan. Eksplorasi pencaharian tentang sumber ide penciptaan yaitu tentang ornamen Plak Pleng dan elemen ruang tamu. Perancangan pembuatan sketsa dan desain. Tahap perwujudan yaitu mewujudkan desain menjadi karya. Bahan utama yang digunakan adalah kayu surian dengan finishing melamine. Teknik yang digunakan adalah teknik konstruksi, ukir, bubut, kerawang dan pewarnaan dengan teknik air brush dan spray gun. Experiments were carried out by comparing the use of latex with the use of feather glue. The aim of this study was to analyze the results of eyelash glue application compared with the results of latex application to make three-dimensional burn character makeup. Applying the type of Quasy Experimental research, data was collected by purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out descriptively by looking at the differences in the results of the application of eyelash glue and Latex to make a three-dimensional character makeup of burns, by displaying the mean and minimum and maximum standard deviations. The results of the analysis showed that the use of latex was better in making the effect of three-dimensional burns, with lifting power aspects 3.57, texture aspects 3.04 and 3.28, when compared to the use of eyelash glue with lifting power aspects 2.80, aspects textures 3.66 and 2.52.Keywords: make-up; artistic effect; Burns; latex; eyelash glueAbstrakTulisan ini membahas tentang ekperimentasi tata rias pembuatan efek artistik luka bakar agar dapat membuat riasan yang terlihat nyata dan sangat mirip dengan aslinya. Ekperimentasi dilakukan dengan membandingkan antara penggunaan lateks dengan penggunaan lem bulu. Penelitian ditujukan untuk menganalisis hasil aplikasi lem bulu mata yang dikomparasikan dengan hasil aplikasi lateks untuk membuat riasan karakter luka bakar tiga dimensi. Menerapkan jenis penelitian Quasy Experimental, data dikumpulkan dengan tekhnik purposive sampling. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan melihat perbedaan pada hasil pengaplikasian lem bulu mata dan Latex untuk membuat riasan karakter tiga dimensi luka bakar, dengan menampilkan mean serta standar deviasi minimum dan maksimum. The research was carried out with a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, where all data were described and then analyzed according to the problem. The theory used is Koetjaraningrat regarding the existence to discuss the existence of Naga Lim art in Padang City and Sumandiyo Hadi's perspective on form, to discuss the form of Naga Lim art performance as one of the Chinese community culture in Padang City. Research shows that Naga Lim Art is an art of the Chinese community that is preserved in Padang City through its adaptability. This art is always performed to celebrate Chinese New Year and Cap Go Meh, accompanied by typical Chinese musical instruments, played by 7 to 9 players using a property that resembles a Dragon and moves to imitate the imagined movements of the Dragon.Keywords: Lim Dragon Art; Chinese; West Sumatra; existence; adaptationAbstrakTulisan ini membahas perihal keberadaan kesenian Naga Lim sebagai salah satu budaya masyarakat Tionghoa di Kota Padang Sumatera Barat. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang bersifat analisis deskriptif, dimana seluruh data dideskripsikan kemudian dianalisis sesuai dengan permasalahannya. Teori yang digunakan adalah Koetjaraningrat mengenai keberadaan untuk membahas keberadaan kesenian Naga Lim di Kota Padang dan perspektif Sumandiyo Hadi mengenai bentuk, untuk membahas bentuk pertunjukan kesenian Naga Lim sebagai salah satu budaya masyrakat Tionghoa di Kota Padang. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kesenian Naga Limmerupakan kesenian masyarakat Tionghoa yang dilestarikan di Kota Padang melalui kemampuan adaptasi. The Bakaua ritual is a ritual of expressing gratitude, as well as a ritual of rejecting reinforcements. Using a qualitative approach, the aim of this research is to find the structure as well as the anti-structure of the Bakaua ritual, in order to find out its symbolic meaning. The ritual structure is understood as a dramaturgy, by viewing ritual as a form of social drama. Research data were collected from various written sources for further analysis using an interpretive approach, based on the ritual concepts of Victor Turner. The results showed that the Bakaua ritual as a ritual of rejecting reinforcements had a meaning as a symbol of mutual cooperation and harmony. A symbol, which reflects the belief of the supporting communitas in a shared identity that is still preserved, as a community, existentially, normatively, and ideologically.Keywords: Bakaua; ritual; tolak bala; Minangkabau; dramaturgyAbstrakArtikel ini membahas tentang ritual Bakaua dalam Masyarakat Minangkabau, yang tergelar di beberapa tempat di kawasan Sijunjung. Ritual Bakaua merupakan suatu ritual ungkapan rasa syukur, sekaligus ritual tolak bala. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menemukan struktur sekaligus anti struktur dari ritual Bakaua tersebut, untuk seterusnya menemukan makna simboliknya. Struktur ritual dipahami sebagai suatu dramaturgi, dengan memandang ritual adalah suatu bentuk drama sosial. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dari berbagai sumber tertulis untuk selanjutnya dianalisis dengan pendekatan interpretatif, berdasarkan pada konsep-konsep ritual dari Victor Turner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ritual Bakaua sebagai suatu ritual tolak bala memiliki makna sebagai suatu simbol gotong royong dan kerukunan. Tor-tor Sombah dipercayai dapat mewujudkan ikatan persaudaraan antara sesama yang hadir di dalam upacara kematian orang yang sempurna dalam kekerabatan. Orang tersebut disebut Saur Matua. Saur artinya lengkap atau sempurna dalam kekerabatan, yaitu orang yang telah beranak cucu, dan berhasil dalam kehidupan sosial serta materi. Tanda-tanda yang terdapat pada Tor-tor Sombah dalam upacara adat kematian Saur Matua seperti Sijaragon, ulos saput, andung, tandok, kostum, dan sebagainya. The aim is to find out the views of the people of Lenggopan Village on the preservation of Gondang Brogong art and the contribution of this perspective to the preservation of Gondang Brogong. Through qualitative research, with the basis of tracing the oral history of Gondang Brogong art and several concepts regarding the preservation of local culture, the research is directed to find out how to preserve Gondang Brogong art. The results of the study prove that Gondang Brogong in Lenggopan Village is still sustainable today, because its presence in traditional ceremonies cannot be replaced by other arts. For the people of Lenggopan if an event does not feature Gondang Brogong, then the event is considered not festive and sacred.Keywords: preservation; traditional art; Gondang Brogong; Pasir PangaraianAbstrakPenelitian ini membahas tentang bentuk dan semangat pelestarian kesenian Gondang Brogong di Desa Lenggopan, Pasir Pangaraian. Tujuannya untuk mengetahui pandangan masyarakat Desa Lenggopan terhadap pelestarian kesenian Gondang Brogong dan sumbangan cara pandang tersebut atas kelestarian Gondang Brogong. Melalui penelitian kualitatif, dengan landasan penelusuran atas sejarah lisan kesenian Gondang Brogong dan beberapa konsep tentang pelestarian budaya lokal, penelitian diarahkan untuk mengetahui cara pelestarian kesenian Gondang Brogong. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa Gondang Brogong di Desa Lenggopan masih tetap lestari sampai sekarang, karena kehadirannya dalam upacara adat tidak dapat digantikan oleh kesenian lain. Badikia tradition are carried out to commemorate 100 days of death. The purpose of the study was to determine the form, structure, and function of the presentation of Badikia in the Managakan Batu Mejan ritual. Using qualitative methods, research data were collected by means of observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation, to produce analytical descriptions based on theories and conceptual frameworks about rituals. The formulation of the research results shows that Badikia in the Managakan Batu Mejan ritual is a means of religious ritual for followers of the Syattariyah order, which functions to perform sunnah worship by reading sentences of praise to Allah SWT and the Prophet Muhammad SAW, which creates inner satisfaction for the perpetrators.Keyword: Badikia; ritual, Managakan Batu Mejan, Syattariyah; UlakanAbstrakArtikel ini membahas Tradisi Badikia dalam ritual Managakan Batu Mejan yang dipraktikkan oleh jamaah tarekat Syattariyah di  Ulakan Tapakis, Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Tradisi Badikia dilaksanakan untuk memperingati 100 hari kematian. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui bentuk, struktur, serta fungsi dari penyajian Badikia dalam ritual Managakan Batu Mejan. Menggunakan metode kualitatif, data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan dokumentasi, untuk menghasilkan deskripsi bersifat analitik berdasarkan teori dan kerangka konseptual tentang ritual. Two of the forms of creativity that are produced and displayed in Sepekan Kesenian Tradisi are the new creation of dance and the Simuntu performance. Through the application of qualitative research methods with a dance ethnology approach, data on the creativity and potential of the Andaleh village youth are described and analyzed using the concepts of creativity, biography, and folk festivals. Sepekan Kesenian Tradisi was then followed by the holding of various games and performing arts, which were basically the result of the creativity of the nagari youth, where Yeni Eliza took on the role of initiator of activities and creator of new dance creations which became the material for the activities.Keywords: Traditional Arts Week; Andaleh Baruh Bukik; Simuntu; Creative Dance; festivalAbstrakArtikel ini membahas tentang Sepekan Kesenian Tradisi, sebuah ajang kreativitas dan potensi generasi muda Andaleh Baruh Bukik dalam membangun nagari mereka melalui kegiatan seni pertunjukan, permainan dan pertunjukan tradisional. Dua di antara bentuk kreativitas yang dihasilkan dan ditampilkan dalam Sepekan Kesenian Tradisitersebutadalah seni tari kreasi baru dan pertunjukan Simuntu.
