While it has been well-studied for its significant role in mental health disorders, there has been little research into developing a rapid sensor to detect PIC. In this preliminary work, we sought to develop a molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs)-based electrochemical sensor that could rapidly and selectively detect PIC. The electrochemical sensor performance was evaluated using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) in a linear range between 1 and 5 mM, with a limit of detection of 0.6 mM (S/N = 3) and a limit of quantification of 1.7 mM (S/N = 10). The interference analysis was also conducted on the MIPs sensor to evaluate its ability to selectively detect PIC in the presence of other interfering molecules. Overall, the results demonstrate that this sensor has significant potential for use in the rapid and selective detection of PIC by electrochemical analysis.","PeriodicalId":14079,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Materials Research","volume":"52 1","pages":"4214 - 4224"},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2023-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87846407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"材料科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ternary Mg–Al–Ti and quaternary Mg–Al–Ti–Cu systems which were sintered at 750 °C after 16 h milling showed the highest hardness of 509 and 947 HV with low densities of 2.9 and 3.9 g/cm3, respectively. The decrease in particle size and uniform dispersion of elements through optimization of the MA process induced the formation of uniform composite microstructure after SPS. Moreover, the addition of the fourth element, Cu, showed a significant impact on the improvement in hardness. This result was explained from the perspective of the microstructure and the electronic nature of elements. Our results provide a facile method for synthesizing oxide/metal composites from elemental powders without a separate oxidation process.","PeriodicalId":14079,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Materials Research","volume":"12 1","pages":"4235 - 4246"},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2023-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81546562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"材料科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The effects of the size and distribution of particles on the quasi-static compressive behavior and failure mechanisms of the AMSFs was investigated. Microstructural images showed a clear interface between the fillers and matrix and no obvious shrinkage cavity was detected. The quasi-static compressive stress–strain curve of the AMSFs underwent three stages, namely linear-elastic, plateau, and then densification stages. The long plateau stage indicated that the AMSFs have excellent energy absorption capacity. The compressive strength and specific energy absorption capacity of the syntactic foam was lower when smaller particles were used and the compressive strength of bimodal AMSFs was much lower than that of monomodal AMSFs. The deformation of the AMSFs under compressive load, indicates that the distribution of the particles has an important influence on the failure mechanism of the AMSFs.","PeriodicalId":14079,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Materials Research","volume":"5 1","pages":"4408 - 4419"},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2023-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76122050","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"材料科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among various materials that show this property, the Sb2Te3 attracts attention due to its excellent properties. Recent experimental information revealed a new phase equilibrium data; therefore, it is reasonable to elaborate a state-of-art thermodynamic model of the binary Sb–Te system. In this work, a new thermodynamic description is proposed based on the available experimental data. In addition, a new DSC measurement of heat and temperature of fusion of Sb2Te3 as well as ab initio calculation of Sb2Te3 were included in the experimental dataset. The homogeneity range of Sb2Te3 was modeled according to the stability of defects obtained from first-principle calculations. The morphology of the optimized phase diagram follows the latest findings, which means that the Ksi phase has replaced the delta and gamma phases. The elaborated thermodynamic parameters allow for a good reproduction of experimental data as well as for future modeling of higher-ordered systems.","PeriodicalId":14079,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Materials Research","volume":"34 1","pages":"4287 - 4302"},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2023-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91174226","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"材料科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Here, the kernel average misorientation from electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) was implemented into a Matlab code to differentiate and quantify the microstructural constituents. Correlative electron channeling contrast imaging (ECCI) validated the automated phase classification results and was further employed to investigate the effect of the grain tolerance angle on classification. Moreover, ECCI investigations highlighted that the grain structure of HSLA steels can be subdivided into four grain categories. Each category contained a different nanohardness or substructure size that precluded a nanoindentation-based phase classification. Consequently, the automated EBSD classification approach based on local misorientation achieved a reliable result using a grain tolerance angle of 5°.","PeriodicalId":14079,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Materials Research","volume":"25 1","pages":"4177 - 4191"},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2023-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75839699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"材料科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
