The developed system uses a space-varying approach in real-time analysis of 2D nonstationary signals, related to the space/spatial-frequency (S/SF) domain tool based on the 2D cross-terms-free Wigner distribution. The system is based on the correspondence of the filter's region of support (FRS) to the local frequency (LF) of the filtered signal. By implementing the LF estimation, the system performs filtering of nonsationary 2D signals. The estimation has been implemented by the sliding matrix operation, which presents the central part of the developed design. The developed filter permits multiple FRS detection in the observed 2D signal point. In this way it enables a very efficient real-time filtering of nonstationary monocomponent and multicomponent FM signals, highly concentrated in the S/SF space and exposed to the high white noise. The design is proven through the verification of the sliding matrix operation. This paper adopts contour detection with surround suppression on the color video to approximate the foreground edges present in the depth image. Displacement estimation and compensation is then used to improve this prediction and reduce the amount of side information required by the decoder. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method manages to accurately predict around 64% of the blocks. In human-to-human interaction emotion perception is the perception on the emotion of the other people, which, due to the nature of emotions is not so precise. On the other hand, perception on emotions in human-computer interaction is still an open problem. A lot of work is done in direction of finding suitable model for perceiving emotions based on different input signals and classification models. Here, only sound signals are considered. Still, the percentage of the classification of emotion in natural environment isn't satisfactory. Finding a suitable model for emotion classification based on emotion evaluation is the objective of this paper. We investigated the available methods for finding the most important sound features and introduced a novel approach to finding them. Our approach includes knowledge from psychological studies that analyzed the human perception on emotions. A classifier based on the features selected with the new approach is introduced and evaluated in comparison to others. The low-level battery/ultracapacitor current controllers and the DC link voltage controller are implemented in a relatively inexpensive programmable logic controller (PLC), while the high-level control and data acquisition are based on the National Instruments DAQ board and National Instruments LabView software. In these platforms, the FPGAs serve as accelerators of complex algorithms, making it possible to process a vast amount of sensing data in real time. In medical applications that rely on sensors, both privacy and security are of utmost importance. However, the execution of cryptographic primitives on nodes solely based upon microcontrollers clocked at a low frequency can affect the overall power consumption of the platform. In this manuscript, we present the design of a cryptographic accelerator based on FPGA and aimed to be coupled to a microcontroller. It provides the most secure implementation of the IEEE 802.15.4 security suite together with an Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) engine to perform key establishment. Furthermore, we provide a comparison on performance and energy consumption of cryptographic primitives in commercial nodes and in the proposed design. Our results suggest that the controlled execution of cryptographic algorithms on FPGAs clocked at a low frequency improves the performance and energy consumption of the state-of-the-art implementations based on the MICA and Tmote nodes. Currently, system design methods do not offer sufficient means for supporting energy awareness and efficiency throughout the complete system design process. In this paper, we present a power database for storing and predicting power data of integrated systems across abstraction levels, starting at system level and going all the way down to gate level. Our approach bases on the definition of multiple use cases per component, which allows for accurate power prediction of hierarchically defined systems already during the system-level design stage. This leads to reduced design costs as early power-affecting design decisions can be made on a sound basis. For evaluation, use cases for a commercially used network router component and its subcomponents were generated and power-simulated. Virtual power plant strategy analyzed in this paper can be a solution to be applied in cases where a random mix of renewable sources can be combined with a small proportion of the source water that is predictable. This paper analyzes the strategy proposed for micro power sources comprising wind, solar and hydro and network connection. Hydraulic power is enhanced considering pumping rate of 38%. Proportion carried out by consumer consumption is considered equivalent to 14% of the electricity produced by micro, the remainder being sold or consumed in pumping network (5%). The main scope of this paper concentrates on an algorithm for automatic derivation of infrastructure support to store and convey the test input data to be used in the test cases (in the test framework), while executing MBT in embedded systems.
