This paper presents and analyses the application of High Tensile steel (E550 Grade as per IS: 2062) in Heavy structure like Boiler Supporting Steel Structure. Boiler supporting Structure consists of major weight contribution in Columns and Beams which are stress governed, the objective is to optimize the structural quantity through application of High Tensile Steel with higher yield stress. This paper describes the complete analytical approach adopted in analysis & design, conclusion and recommendation. Latest structural plate rolling technology provides excellent combination of high strength, Toughness and weldability for High Tensile Steel, these properties of steel plate are most critical mechanical properties for steel structure design. The key microstructural control is obtained in the plate rolling mills through on-line heat treatment immediately after accelerated cooling during Thermo-Mechanical Controlled Processing (TMCP). Thermo-Mechanical Controlled Processing technology is recent development applied in latest steel structural plate rolling mills for rolling with thickness up to 120mm. Niobium (Nb) as a micro alloy in the steel enables to achieve a substantial grain refinement, very fine-grained microstructure improves toughness and increases the yield strength. The TMCP process enables the required tensile properties in structural plates with leaner chemical composition. Leaner chemical composition, especially lower carbon content and lower carbon equivalents improves weldability. Improved weldability benefits the fabricator for fabrication of plate fabricated built-up profiles which is the main requirement in Heavy Structure like Boiler Supporting Steel Structure. Detailed analysis and design of typical 660 MW coal fired Boiler structure has resulted in 25% structural weight saving in case of High Tensile steel application (E550 Grade) as compared with commonly used carbon steel (E250/E350 Grade). Also, this analysis concludes that use of high tensile steel should be limited to Columns and Beams only which are stress governed and where yield strength is the main design criteria.","PeriodicalId":13667,"journal":{"name":"Industrial & Engineering Chemistry","volume":"30 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84731260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Inverters are used in a range of applications from consumer electronics and industrial to renewable energy. The flexible capability to create an AC signal from a DC voltage, frequency and speed control are all accomplished from the use of Inverter. Inverter takes the voltage and passes it through switching elements which turn the DC signal into an AC square wave signal. This wave is then passes through filter which turns it into a sine wave signal of the required voltage. This paper presents design an inverter with overcurrent protection circuit without microcontroller, where the MOSFET gate driver is controlled by pulses generated from 555 timer, and with using a low pass filter and setup transformer, a low cost sine wave inverter has been obtained. The heart of the design is 555 timer. The design is achieved in Proteus 8. Simulation results demonstrated that a single phase sine wave (50 Hz) has been generated by a half bridge inverter and a full bridge inverter and protection circuit from current higher than 4.5A has been built. The reliability and accuracy of the system are verified through an experiment.","PeriodicalId":13667,"journal":{"name":"Industrial & Engineering Chemistry","volume":"31 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91404649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The process of thickening the tubing end is to heat one end of the tubing to a certain temperature, push it into the die hall, and close the die cylinder under the push of hydraulic oil to press the end of the pipe. Then, squeeze into the cylinder forward, and the extrusion head on the piston rod thickens the end of the pipe. Complete the thickening process at the end of the pipe. In the production process, due to the great pressure change of the hydraulic system, the vibration of the system is violent, resulting in pipeline cracking, which seriously affects the production. Through the analysis of hydraulic system of pipe end thickener, it is found that the fundamental cause of the system pressure relief vibration is that when the hydraulic system is unloading, the volume of the hydraulic cylinder unloading cavity is large and the energy is accumulated. The problem can be solved by adjusting the section where the actual stroke of the hydraulic cylinder is located in the total stroke to reduce the volume of the pressure relief chamber and the energy released when the pressure is unloaded.","PeriodicalId":13667,"journal":{"name":"Industrial & Engineering Chemistry","volume":"32 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84113132","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition to that, the traditional manual nearby approach of following up the water distribution network is unable to ensure an effective and equity use of the small water resources available. A dedicated real-time monitoring system based on radio frequency (RF) communication and internet of things (IoT) paradigms is proposed in this paper. This monitoring system is essential and constitutes a proposed solution for the local water management and equity distribution of the available poor water resources. An alert system recalls users to any abnormal water usage to reduce water loss or to check and solve usual leakages. A customer’s water consumption visualization as well as a setting of his desired consumption alert system are performed using a home dashboard; the monitoring of the system by the water utility company is achieved using a web-based system through Thingspeak cloud computing platform. For an immediate and easy local implementation of the prototype, the system technology was chosen in already validated most cases; in other words, Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components were used.
