One method is applied to the cases with sinusoidal signals in power systems corrupted by sine noises basing on central numerical differentiation with 7 points. Another method is applied to the cases with non-sinusoidal signals in power systems corrupted by Gaussian white noises basing on digital band-pass FIR filters. The proposed algorithm requires at most one cycle in sine noises, and takes one and half cycle in Gaussian white noises. The registration process can be done in three steps: 1) Positioning: put the virtual object at a desired position. 2) Rendering: get the 2D image of the positioned 3D virtual object 3) The rendering of the virtual object will then be merged with the image of real environment to compose an augmented image. Rendering the virtual object is not trivial work, since it not only depends on its 3D location and orientation, but also depends on the camera's location and orientation. When the camera undergoes a transformation, the parameters for rendering will also be accordingly changed. Therefore, for a realtime augmented reality system, the camera pose must be dynamically tracked at frame rate. In order to simulate the real camera, we have to know its intrinsic and extrinsic parameters. The intrinsic parameters describe camera's optical, geometric and digital characteristics. The extrinsic parameters describe position and orientation of the camera. Both intrinsic and extrinsic parameters can be estimated through a camera calibration process (for example Zonglei and Boufama's method). However, calibrating the camera in real-time, for applications similar to industry, is not necessary (for example Kutulakos & vallino's method). In a classic architecture, the spectral shaping is done in base band, i.e., before signal amplification. This approach may increase significantly the peak-to-average of the signal. This in turn means that the power amplifier has to be operated at a higher back-off thus increasing its size and reducing its DC-RF efficiency. The use of analog filtering after amplification can circumvent these limitations. However, given the limited control on the analog filter, system linearity will be affected. In this paper, we study and compare the performance of both architectures with digital and analog filters. It is found that an optimized digital filter at the receiver allows obtaining excellent linearity with analog, post-amplifier, filter at the transmitter.","PeriodicalId":136064,"journal":{"name":"2004 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2004. This kind of converter consists of two inverter modules and each inverter module is based on three-level topological structure. The two inverter modules are connected by an output transformer and can be connected in series or parallel mode as desired. So it can provide big current and high voltage to the load. In order to eliminate the selected harmonic, an optimized control method is applied and gets a good result. Some experiments are Web based while the others are real hands on experiments performed using DSP2 learning module equipped with RCP. The aim of integration of hands on experiments into control course is to minimize the gap between the theory and practice and to teach students the use of Web and RCP. RCP for DSP2 learning module is based on Matlab/Simulink. DSP2 learning module and the hands on experiments are represented. The communication network has to offer an appropriate transport service, making this kind of applications successful. So, we will analyze the feasibility of a real-time navigation system on IEEE 802.11b wireless networks. For that purpose, we have developed a prototype that consists of one autonomous robot equipped with a webcam and an 802.11b network adapter. The control station sends navigation commands to the robot and, at the same time, it is receiving a video stream that shows to the user a frontal view of actual robot location. In this framework, we analyze the end-to-end delays in both the video and navigation dataflows under different network conditions. The mobile robot is equipped with an exteroceptive sensor and dead-reckoning and knows a map of its evolution environment. To model imprecision measurements of these sensors, data are given under shape of intervals. Our localization strategy is based on multi-target tracking, the tracks representing primitives of the robot's environment. During the robot's displacement, the algorithm tries to match its observations with the managed tracks or tries to initialize news with observations thanks to the theoretical map. The matching criterion used is founded on an overlapping percentage between corresponding subpavings. These two actions provide us some mathematical relations between the Cartesian coordinates and the associated measurements in comparison with the robot position (each data being modeled by intervals to manage naturally the imprecision). These data are fused by constraint propagation on intervals. This way composed of two steps forward and backward propagation allows to delete inconsistent values in intervals in order to reduce the imprecision. So, at the end of the localization process, we get a 3-D subpaving, which is supposed to contain the robot's position in a guaranteed way.","PeriodicalId":136064,"journal":{"name":"2004 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2004. Generally, the process of identifying a fuzzy inference system (or fuzzy model) requires two types of tuning designated as structural and parametric tunings. The first one concerns the structure of the rules and deals with problems such as the partition of the universe of discourse, the number of fuzzy if-then rules and the number of membership functions for each input. The second one is the identification of the parameters of the system. In this work we used the fuzzy clustering techniques to determine the adequate structure, and the weighted least square (WLS) algorithm to estimate the linear parameters. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed fuzzy modelling method, the identified TS fuzzy model is applied to predict the global solar radiation data. The numerical results are then compared with the results of a model using the SOS techniques. It is shown that the fuzzy modelling approach is not only more accurate than the SOS techniques but also provides some qualitative information.","PeriodicalId":136064,"journal":{"name":"2004 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2004.
