Punching and blanking are the two commonly used shear cutting technologies. The efficiency and performance of an electrical machine depend on the magnetic properties of its magnetic core. The shear cutting process causes the formation of residual stresses in cut segments next to the cutting line from the non-oriented electrical sheet metal, resulting in increased iron losses. The extent of deterioration in the magnetic material properties depends on the amount of induced stresses, which is affected by the used process parameters during shear cutting and the mechanical properties of the electrical steel sheets. This paper focuses on the residual stresses induced by punching with different shear cutting conditions using finite element analysis. Influence of cutting clearance of the shear cutting tool on were observed.","PeriodicalId":135905,"journal":{"name":"Acta Mechanica Slovaca","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127135956","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this paper is the determination of rheological properties of new and used DOT 3 brake fluid with the use of rotational cone-plate rheometer. The viscosity and flow curves of brake fluids were determined at ≈ 20oC and ≈ 80oC. The results of tests showed differences between new and used brake fluids. It was noted that used brake fluid was characterized by lower viscosity and higher density. The viscosity was constant in the whole range of a shear rate. Additionally, the decrease of viscosity with the increase of temperature was also observed. The linear dependence between shear rate and shear stress for both tested brake fluids was noted. The aforementioned relationship enables to classify both new and used brake fluids as Newtonian liquids.","PeriodicalId":135905,"journal":{"name":"Acta Mechanica Slovaca","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128420796","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These packages are required to be reliably functioning while not contaminating the inner content for the whole time. In practice, we often encounter the opinion that the packages from thin steel sheets have been in recent years substituted with the packages made from non-metal materials, mainly from plastic materials. However, from the recent statistical evaluation it is evident that the packages from thin steel sheets play a significant role in the production of packages. This contribution describes changes in the production of steel sheets during recent years and the influence of these changes on the final properties of thin sheets. Contribution also presents the examples of disruption of such packages from thin steel sheets and the analysis of such disruptions.","PeriodicalId":135905,"journal":{"name":"Acta Mechanica Slovaca","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130253596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The process differs from the conventional method with regard to the method of shaping the extruder product. In the conventional extrusion process, the plastic has a homogenous structure across the whole section, whereas during microcellular extrusion process the plastic, containing the input plastic and a special blowing agent, obtains a two-phase structure changing its structure into microcellular. One phase is solid and the other is microcellular. Microcellular phase is obtained by inserting the blowing agent into the input plastic during its manufacture. It takes place in the penultimate zone of the plasticizing system of the extruder under suitable process conditions which enable expansion of the blowing agent. Currently applied blowing agents have the form of gases and liquids (then they are inserted into the plasticizing system of the extruder by means of a special installation) but also powders and granulates inserted into the plasticizing system of the extruder together with the input plastic after previously mixing thereof. The article presents characteristics of the microcellular extrusion process and it describes selected research results of the process and microcellular extruder product properties.","PeriodicalId":135905,"journal":{"name":"Acta Mechanica Slovaca","volume":"364 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115976922","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The experimental evaluation of coefficient of friction value has been carried out using a special tribological simulator. Two friction conditions i.e. dry friction and lubrication were analysed. As a test material the deep drawing quality (DDQ) steel sheet commonly used in automotive industry was selected. The mechanical properties of the sheets were selected in the uniaxial tensile test. The experimental results show that the friction coefficient value is very stable after reaching a certain value of sheet deformation. It was found that an increase of rolls surface led to an increase of the sample elongation value at which exists the maximum effectiveness of lubricant. It was also observed that an increase of the amount of sample elongation decreases the sheet surface roughness and friction behaviour changes as a result of high contact pressure and plastic deformation of surface asperities.","PeriodicalId":135905,"journal":{"name":"Acta Mechanica Slovaca","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121520689","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the given paper the numerical model based on the exponential approximation of commodity stock exchanges was derived. The price prognoses of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange were determined as numerical solution of the Cauchy initial problem for the 1st order ordinary differential equation. To make the numerical model more accurate the idea of the modification of the initial condition value by the stock exchange was realized. The derived numerical model was observed to determine the success of the proposed modification by means of the distribution of the numbers of the forecasting terms with different error rate. Within the forecasting terms, in which the modification of the initial condition value by stock exchange occurred, the proposed strategy significantly improved the original forecasting. The largest forecasting problems within significant and rapid changes in price course were eliminated. The modification of the original model improved forecasting in each forecasting term where the initial condition drift occurred by reducing both the mean absolute percentage error of the forecasting term and the number of the prognoses with the absolute percentage error of at least 10 %.","PeriodicalId":135905,"journal":{"name":"Acta Mechanica Slovaca","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127463647","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, undesirable levels of vibration can occur in already existing constructions. Therefore, additional modal and spectral parameter modification, to reach the desired vibration reducing, is required. This work presents structural dynamic modification methodology that allows the modal properties of a structure to be effectively changed. As the demonstration of this method, the example of a cantilever beam structure modified by aluminium foam layer elements was chosen. This example represents inertial, stiffness and damping modification aimed to tuning of modal and spectral parameters of the original structure.","PeriodicalId":135905,"journal":{"name":"Acta Mechanica Slovaca","volume":"194 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126962482","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this area a massive development can be adsorbed. Relativly fewer efforts are devoted to the reuse of liquid resources. But waste water treatment is a technology what could be also considered as a technology what is able to provide streams otherwise problematic and not valorized: nutrients for agricultural use. An example for that new concept is the reuse of waste water for irrigation.
