The ancient traditions of creating community have been proven by having a place to meet. The expert said that this place is called a public space which provides the needs of the community for daily interaction from various social aspects and levels so that this place will become more meaningful for the city. Old-City Hall Park of Tegal is one of the three important Public Spaces that have an impression for local residents, and the other two are The City center square and Pancasila Park. There are three landmarks in the park that provide territorial marks for road users in the Pantura-province-street that have entered to Tegal City. However, during the time Tegal city developed, the Old City Hall Park often had regional problems where the parks is meaningless to local residents so that the ownership of a place decreased over time. Problems arise from the lack of visitors, park management that is not running well so it damages the Physical Attribute and street furniture of the park itself, and the emergence of illegal street vendors in the corners of the public spaces in the park area. This study uses a quantitative-qualitative mix-method. The purpose of this research is not far from solving the city park’s problem by analyzing the quality of the park in terms of the vitality of the area. The respondents used were 100 people. The analysis is carried out by identifying and searching for information on user activities, the physical conditions of the park, accessibility, and the meaning of city parks. The results of the study proved that after going through a survey of respondents' perceptions and field observations that the quality of the City Park was not sufficient, seen from the analysis of the physical environmental conditions of the park to support various types of activities, the respondent's perception of ownership of the park gradually disappeared along with the meaning of the place.","PeriodicalId":133023,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Livable Space","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129275620","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several strategies can be applied to mitigate the urban heat island intensity, one of which is the use of a cool and reflective material to avoid solar heat gain. In this study, we simulate a simplified model of the Asia-Afrika region in Bandung and conduct a comparative analysis to determine the thermal performance of glass in the outdoor thermal environment. While the needs of houses increase every year, land availability decreases in cities that causes landed house prices become unaffordable. One of the solutions offered by the government is RISHA (Rumah Instan Sederhana Sehat) or a simple design innovation of healthy house especially for low-income family. One of its successful projects was Petogogan Row Houses. However, after few years of occupancy the occupants perceive that there are some things which are considered incompatible with the rooms they inhabit. The qualitative approach applied in this study is to uncover the occupants’ perception of the post occupancy of RISHA row houses. Through this research it was found that things that are considered inappropriate by occupants are caused by (1) the furniture (non-fixed elements) capacity exceeds the RISHA room standard; (2) the physical elements (fixed-elements) of walls and ceilings set by RISHA do not provide possibilities for occupants to install non-fixed elements; (3) inadequacy of indoor natural light capacity related to the improper occupants’ considerations.Keywords: RISHA row houses, occupants’ perception, room physical elements.","PeriodicalId":133023,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Livable Space","volume":"92 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128019983","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It provides a basis for potential reconstructing a Banjarese Kampung in keeping with the sociocultural context. We investigated a total of an urban kampung (177 households) and 12 RBT groups (4 RBTs groups in 1 urban kampung and 8 RBT groups in 2 rural kampungs). We describe the development of kampung throughout the evolution of river networks, then analyze the formation of dwelling in the urban kampung and the changing of spatial composition in the kin-group. The discussion on the evolution river network is based on the reconstruction of waterway patterns from the 15th until the mid 20th century. These conditions encourage the researcher to observe how much the indoor temperature difference in the classroom is correlated to the wall completion of the building envelope. The method used was by measuring indoor and outdoor temperatures at the same time periods (morning, midday, and afternoon) from the classrooms in different floors. The result of the study reveals that indoor temperature increases relatively towards the sun orientation of north-northeast and of west-southwest. The building envelope with precast concrete and window-wall affects indoor temperature relatively higher in the morning and lower in the afternoon. Therefore, the community build farmhouses to help farming activities. However, as an agricultural landscape, cultivation in Ngadas Village has various dynamics. Changes that occur in the agricultural landscape can be traced through agricultural features formed by the type of agricultural land use. In addition, it can be traced through cultural features that are the result of interactions between human activities and the environment such as farmhouses. Therefore, this study aims to find out the implications of agricultural features on cultural features, especially space in farmhouses. The in-depth interview and observation methods were conducted to identify, then the data obtained were analysed by synchronous and diachronic methods. So, the changes that occur can be determined descriptively. The results of the study show that the culture of shifting cultivation that has become permanent causes the fields to develop along with the changes in the plants that have been planted, the addition of activities and intensity of plant management. More fixed location of the farm more developed and permanent farmhouses has been built. More activities carried out in the fields and the higher intensity of plant management, the wider and more space needed for the fields.Keywords: Agrarian culture, Agricultural landscape, Farmhouses","PeriodicalId":133023,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Livable Space","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116657268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At present, In Indonesia, the total capacity of domestic nickel smelting reaches 5 million tons/year with the assumption of NPI or FeNi production with a Ni level of 10%, requiring the input of Ni ore raw materials around 40 million tons/year in which around 30 million tons will become waste/slag. Currently, the area of Southeast Sulawesi has a potential of huge nickel resources of 97.4 billion tons, which spread over 480 thousand hectares of land. This has led to a continuous increase in the demand of concrete towards infrastructural development in Indonesia. Therefore, the aim of this research is to reuse nickel slag powder in the context of environmentaly friendly by analyzing the tensile strength using nickel slag powder (NSP) as a cement substitution material for the manufacture of high-performance concrete. Specimens were made with water-cement ratio of 0.31 and compared with 100% OPC Type 1 cement (as reference). Furthermore, the NSP substitution of cement were 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30% with a concrete age of 3, 7, 14 and 28 days. Analysis of physical characteristics of nickel slag powder and cement were carried out by using the Le Chatelier method, while the mechanical characteristics comprised ease of work in the field (workability) and split tensile strength. The manufactured concrete was made by using Sika Viscocrete 8015 superplasticizer admixture with split tensile strength test results for NSP substitution at 28 days ≥ 5% of the value of compressive strength. \u0000 \u0000Keywords: High-performance concrete, Nickel slag powder, Split tensile strength,","PeriodicalId":133023,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Livable Space","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131403713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
