The Old City as an urban heritage destination has its charm for visitors to the city of Semarang, which in turn has contributed to the image of the city of Semarang. This study aims to determine how the attractiveness of the old city strengthens the image of Semarang City and what factors support. This can promote the physical and non-physical sustainability of the old city, so that people get to know the city of Semarang through the old city. The results of this study found that the Old City of Semarang contributed to the formation of the image of the city of Semarang but was not too strong. This is influenced by the attractiveness of the old city which is visually different from its surroundings where the forming elements have a strong characteristic.\u0000Keywords: City Image, Attractiveness, Old Town","PeriodicalId":133023,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Livable Space","volume":"68 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140424110","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some superblock area development, bundled as a TOD area ignores several principles, especially pedestrian-friendly related values. Limited regulations and inconsistencies in understanding the application of TOD concepts and theories have resulted in the inappropriate application of TOD principles in transit-oriented areas. This study aims to find the implementation of connecting routes and the use of pedestrian paths with descriptive-qualitative methods by field observation. The research will be conducted in the Transit-Oriented development area Karet-Bendungan Hilir. The contribution of planners and construction service providers in efforts to facilitate access for diffable persons to public services has not been realized in the field because the builders still consider the provision of facilities to be a burden, causing a reduction in information and understanding of appropriate public facilities for them. It causes many public buildings to be considered insensitive to the needs of groups of diffable people. Therefore, it is essential to discuss the challenges faced in planning facilities for diffable persons to formulate strategic steps to overcome the challenges. This study aims to determine the considerations and constraints encountered during the implementation and planning stages of the facilities for diffable people. This study aims to analyse the energy consumption and payback period of energy-efficient strategy implementation in glass type options. The energy-efficient strategy in the glass options is chosen since it affects the energy consumption the most. A study on the payback period needs to be conducted since purchasing high-performance glass materials increase the building capital cost and become a consideration for decision-maker. This study tested 5 variations, including single and double glass windows and incorporating 5 types of glass materials with various solar transmittance properties. The energy consumption then is calculated using energy simulation software OpenStudio using Jakarta weather data. The payback period is calculated to find out the length of time the energy cost saving can recoup the additional capital cost needs to purchase better thermal performance glass. The result shows that the double glass windows with low solar transmittance value reduce the energy consumption for cooling the most. Thus, cheaper glass material with similar solar transmittance value reaches the payback period fastest.","PeriodicalId":133023,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Livable Space","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125506086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
